    Q/BL vs TC3000

I am at only 2 days on an email from you, for TC I am sitting at 2 months and 3 emails to 'Heather'...

    1500d's OPINIONS NEEDED

with what meter? Located where? Tone or music? I just think you should save some $ and buy a bL which will reach full extension under that power for sure!

That is for sure, I am coming up on 2 months for a shipping quote. 3 emails.

    (2) FI Q's + (2) 1000.1?

You will find the Q's are much more SQ orientated then the CVX. Kicker tends to be more towards SPL. I hear the Q's get very loud tho!

    (2) 12" Q or SSD?

I dont necessarily think you would damage them unless you really pushed on them. However, if you are looking to save a little, SSD's with BP option and coppercoils would still sound exceptional!

    Saz-1500D Suggested electrical

That would be far overkill for it. Really, a 160 amp alt and a second battery is sufficient for 1/2 ohm daily (though it is not warrantied)...

    1500d's OPINIONS NEEDED

Personally, I would not recommend either. The BTL will want MINIMUM 2k watts per sub. You are more in the range of 2 BL's. However, if you want 2 BTL's I would reccommend 4 SAZ-1500D's or wait and get 2 SAZ-3000D's.

    Term Lab Question

Daily...20 on the volume knob... Since I wasnt burping I didnt want to throw a sine wave at it on volume that high. Even if I burp it that loud, wont it throw a dirty signal to the sub?(clipping) I still need to know what mistake I made...i wasnt upset with my score, i just found it odd that people are all excited about hitting 139-141 on music when I hit that as well...and then i looked at there burps and they were like mid 140's...so i thought wow, thats werid, my music and sine wave were less than 1 db off from each other... So, I should just do a burp. Go through a set of them till i find which one is the loudest and use that? Also the music one was the last run of the day...after i had done it about 5 or 6 times...its about a minute long sweep each time.. I am kinda thinking the same thing as scott, I would guess that you are not burping at the best possible frequency for the subs. You need to find your peak frequency (preferably with a TL) and burp at that, not what sounds loudest to the ear...

    box and power

They are RE bud, and I think you sould try here: http://www.reaudio.com/ So? Scott used to design RE subs, so he would know what enclosure would be good for them. And I think alot of other people on this forum are capable of helping him out as well. You dont need to be an ass about it...I was pointing him to people whom I am 100% sure will know the answer to his question. And I was not rude about it...

    Got back from FX DBDrag

I know, it is going into the GA next time. Reason it was in the cavy is that the subs were already in there. There will be AT LEAST 1 run of 1/0 next time... Steve, when u gonna get me those stickers so I can start repping ya!

Setup: Car: 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier Battery: Purple Haze Deep Cycle Wiring: 1 run of 4 guage monster to the back to 1 farad cap, split into 2 4 guage runs to amplifiers Amps: 2 SAZ-1500D's strapped Subs: 2 Oldschool ClifDesigns 12" 1000Watt RMS wired at 3.2 ohms. Box: Bassworx prebuilt futureshop Deck: Pioneer Premier DEH960-mp First run (Qualifying): 139.1dB TL ran from 30-41 hz, hit peak at 41hz. Second run: Started at 42 Hz, ran to 139.3. Amps went to protect and had to reset deck with time clicking (while tied with other competitor). Reset deck and hit a 139.8 at 43 Hz. Third run: fudgeed it up, ran it burp at 43Hz for a 140.2 when the LED's started the run. Other competitor 'was not ready' and we needed to start over. Ended up with a 139.8. The guy that we competed against in last run ran a 154.2 in a rex. We are not unhappy with the scores at all, landed second in Street B, but with a mere 24 hours to put it together, we were severly lacking. What we are going to do for next time: Minimum 1 run of 0 guage Custom Box Find what the optimal Hz is Burp at 2 ohms Ill post some pics after I dl them!

For competition I will be running 2 runs of 4 (one per amp), and possibly adding more later this season, or just switching to 1/0 when I switch to my new car. We are looking at 1/0 welding right now. I can pick that stuff up cheap. 2 runs should be sufficient I think. Will help enormously. Been talking with some people and have some ideas to help push it up... I am hopeing mid to high 40's, but I may need new subs for that...
  14. I want to say thank you and just let you know that you WILL be put up on the rides section, but unfortunaly, I am currently working on a project that has not been approved and accepted and have not yet done it. Fear not, they are coming!

Haha, I just emailed shawn today... now I feel dumb!

Can i use a massive 3000.1 and wats teh magnet do

I would recommend you look at the BL rather then the BTL with only 1500 watts per sub. You will be much more satisfied with your cash. Get 2 BL's with cooling and flatwind coil and you should be golden!

I am not sure. For now I need to stay where I am due to cash. The guy who pulled the 152 was running (As element noted) a pair of e-audio 3kwatts. So 6k total. I placed second out of 4 with a 140... Ryan, our best run on the weekend was at 43Hz. But I have no way to test it with no TL here with the new box. Steve says he ran these things burping at about 2k each before, so they should be able to handle the power going to them if we can get the power going to them...I need more testing, I should be at least near your RE's considering you have less then 2kwatts, no? After you get some power, you will obviously destroy me though... I am kinda trying to convince steve to buy a BTL 12" and run it strapped with the sundowns at 2ohms...Run in street A...but damn cash right now...sucks being in debt...

Unfortunatly due to $ constraints, new subs wont be for a little while. Those ones still had a little left in them though. Copper and new box for sure though. What do you think I should run for box Ryan?
  19. Silverbane

    Got back from FX DBDrag

Unfortuanly, that is all I had time for. And it is disgustingly wimpy for 2 amplifiers that can draw over 300 amps strapped. We were limited by the wire alot...
  20. Silverbane

    Got back from FX DBDrag

You are right, it was a 152.4. Oh well. I would really appreciate that time on the TL. I know I gotta hit up Steve for another 1/0 kit and get a new box. I think we can get it into the higher 40's if we work at it!

Talk to denim and get a quote before you buy...

    SAZ-1500D POWER TESTING

Ill pull up the spec sheet on it tomorrow. From what I found on a quick search, it is 85 amps... I talked to some people I know at GM and confirmed that all north american 05 Aveo's have an 85 amp alternator.

New options for SSD and Q series subs

It may have been posted already but I am gonna ask anyways. 1. Can you use this cooling option with Copper Coils on the SSD? 2. With flatwind and BP, will the sub (SSD) LIKELY be able to handle upwards of 1600 watts or should I look more at the BL with cooling? (SAZ-1500D)
  24. Silverbane

    15'' btl or 15'' bl

BL with full options. You will likely be a little disappointed with the BTL on 1500 watts rms...

What you should know about Fi

I have asked about 30 questions so far between scott, nick, and shawn...So far I have only had 1 that was not answered... Quick, curteous, and friendly. I havent even bought my sub yet!! Good work Fi!
