Need help building a new box

Just wanted to show you guys my system working, let me know what you guys think of it. That wasn't full tilt, will post a better video soon at full tilt. The volume was at 26 and I normally go to 12-14. The voltage is also better when I'm driving and not idling. lol My system Panasonic 7" flip out 60.9cs 6-1/2" 2-way Kappa Series Component Alpine MRD-M1000 mono block (bass) Earthquake PowerHouse PH120.2 (mids/highs) Earthquake DBX10 SVC 4 ohms 10" subs X 2 Custom box 1.75cu. ft each dbx10 @ 33 hertz

Need help building a new box

Awesome, a cousin to the van I have. I have a 13yo, 10yo, 8yo, and 7yo so believe me I know all about needing the seating. Using an amp rack like mine and the right type of enclosure you should be able to keep everything you have and have room for everything as well. It's awesome finding another person with a system in a mini-van. Not sure if a amp rack like your would fit cause I have the 50/50 3rd row seat and there tight against the side of the van. But thanks for the suggestion it was a great idea.

Need help building a new box

ok here what I came up with for the box, what do you guys think? Its 3.4 cu.ft before port, sub disp. I would like to keep it close to 3 cu. ft. Subs and port would be facing the rear, I used the box calculator on http://www.the12volt.com 18" wide X 30" high X 14" deep = 3.40169 cu.ft t port 3" high X 16.5" wide X 32.49" long tuned @ 32 hertz Never did a slot port before so the port will need a bend in it, so do I cut 16.5" X 11"" and 16.5" X 20.75" for the back wall to make the 32.5" long? I need to keep the port 3" wide on the back wall also right? Would this be any good?
  6. someone is offering his hifonics brutus bxi 1606d for my Alpine MRD-M1000 should I do it? I know the amp is smaller and will be easier when I redo my box in the nest week, but is it better then my Alpine amp?
  7. There won't be a huge audible difference, the HiFonics and Alpine are both good amps. pick which one you like most and go with it. ok let say I go with the HiFonics and later on run it at 1 ohms how close would I get from the 1600 watts. Do they do rated rms? I don't know the ratings on the amp... but it will again, be in-audible. In order to get a noticable difference in output you must gain atleast 3 dB (human threshold for hearing).. In order do do that you must double your power each time for 1 dB difference. Here are the specs thats at 14.4 volts Power Specifications - Full Range Channels RMS Power @ 4 ohms 550 watts x 1 channel RMS Power @ 2 ohms 1100 watts x 1 channel RMS Power @ 1 ohm 1600 watts x 1 channel

I guess I could do something like that, only thing I would worries about is the snow melting off the stroller and making its way to the amps and subs. I was thinking of using one side for the amps and subs and the other side for the stroller. I have 24" X 16" (MAX) to play with back there. EDIT: I have all 3 rows of seat install in the van, 3 kids so I need all the seat in the van.

Need help building a new box

I do not want to go wider then 20-22" max for the box. But the smaller the better, I would still need to figure something out to mount the amps, don't want to just mount them on the box.

  12. Sorry for not reply right away we are expecting a baby and the due date was Dec 5 and we are still waiting on the little guy to come. But this is what I came up with so far, all the bass on the deck is at 0 1-1 Input : 2ch 1-2 Input Level : -6db 1-3 Gain Factor :+ 6db 2-1 LP On\Off : On 2-2 Frequency : 80hz 3-1 Subsonic On/Off : On 3-2 Frequency : 25hz 4-1 Parametric EQ On 4-2 Frequency : 50hz 4-3 Width Q. : 0.5 4-4 Level : +8db 5-1 Bass Compensation: Off 5-2 Mode :N\A 6-1 Time Compensation: Off 6-2 Delay Time :N\A 7-1 Phase :0\180: 0 8-1 Amp Set ID No. :1 8-2 Time Of Delay :1.0 9-1 Output Disable :Off 0-1 Memory Write :no 0-2 Memory Read :no It sound pretty loud and good tight bass. I'm happy with the $100 I spent on this amp.
  13. I just picked up a Alpine MRD-M1000 mono block for $100 today and need help setting it up. I downloaded the manual offline but its not very help full. Its pushing 2 Earthquake DBX10 in a ported box. Each dbx is in a 1.75cu.ft tuned at 33 hertz. Some of the setting I did today are: input 2ch gain +6db LPF 80 hertz SUB 25 hertz I have been looking online for answers but having a hard time finding anything helpful. Any help would be great, thanks.
  14. No, the preamp voltage isn't that important. Set the gain properly and the 2V will be fine. I would help with the settings but I'm not really sure where to start as I'm not sure exactly on your question or where your confused. I wasn't sure on what the other setting did, but I did more searching on line and found more info. I'll post the setting I came up with in a couples of mins after I go and right them down.
  15. I'm not sure on the other setting? Or what they are used for, never had a amp with this may setting. lol Also my deck has 2 volts re-out would a 4 volt pre-out be better? I have a PG PLD-1 sitting in my closet could I use that to make my 2 volt pre-out 4 volts? 1-1 Input : 2ch 1-2 Input Level : 0db 1-3 Gain Factor : 6db 2-1 LP On\Off :On 2-2 Frequency :80hz 3-1 Subsonic On/Off :On 3-2 Frequency :25hz 4-1 Parametric EQ On\Off 4-2 Frequency : 4-3 Width Q. : 4-4 Level : 5-1 Bass Compensation On\Off 5-2 Mode :N\A 6-1 Time Compensation On\Off 6-2 Delay Time :N\A 7-1 Phase :0\180 8-1 Amp Set ID No. :1 8-2 Time Of Delay :1.0 9-1 Output Disable :Off 0-1 Memory Write :Hopefully Correct Settings!! 0-2 Memory Read :Hopefully Correct Settings!!

2 15" sub how much power

I'm planning on buying a new system during winter for next summer and I wanted to go with 2 15" sub in a ported box. I know its a hard question to answer but how much power will I need to run them? I was looking at the RE SEX15D4 but I havent made up my mind on them 100% yet. But in general how much power would be nneded to run dual 15"? Should I go with 1 amp for both or 1 amp per sub?
  18. Robertjr79

2 15" sub how much power

Ok thanks for that info will stay around the rms range Thanks Thanks
  19. Robertjr79

2 15" sub how much power

Yes for ??? Ok so the RE SEX15D4 rms is 600 so something around 1200 rms, now would it be better to run 1 sub per amp?
  20. I have a chance to pick up a Ultra Linear UL1500X for $50 bucks and was wondering if it was a good amp and price? It would be used to replace my Earthquake PH120.2. to run 2 Earthquake dbx10 10 subs. Here are the specs: 1500W Class X Mono Block Amplifier 12-17V Power Input 0.2-8V RCA Input Voltage Frequency Response 10 Hz - 350 Hz Short / Overload / Thermal Protection Bridgeable with second Class X amplifier 24dB Variable Subsonic Filter 24dB Variable Low Pass Filter 0-18dB Variable Bass Boost Remote Gain Control Module RCA Line Output RMS Power @ 14.4V DC 1 x 500W @ 4 Ohm 1 x 750W @ 2 Ohm 1 x 1000W @ 1 Ohm RMS Power @ 17V DC 1 x 750W @ 4 Ohm 1 x 1000W @ 2 Ohm 1 x 1500W @ 1 Ohm
  21. I guess it was not a good amp and price after all. Guess I got what I paid for. lol oh well I have a nice and heavy paper weight now
  22. I picked up the UL1500X plugged it in and up in smoke. I hurried up and unplugged it as fast as I could. I took it in the house and took the top cover off and found this. Guess I should of known better that that.
  23. I did and didn't find much about it.
  24. Thanks, I know I can't go wrong for $50 but is the amp any good? I never used Ultra brand before and was looking for someone that maybe used this amp before.
