Yeah i have always heard good things about the BL's.
-
Do you need big power to make the BL series subs play at their best? Will they play low and deep on 1,000 watts?
-
Can you guide those guys my way?
-
Ricks, do you build enclosures?
-
You dont think the Q's would be louder?
-
Ok i understand. I had a set of JL 12W7's before the the BL's and they were loud as ish!!! I am sure the Q's would be even louder.
-
I have the BL's already. So you are saying the Q's are better than the BL's?
-
I am running 2 BL's. When i get a really good enclosure builder i will run 4 BL 12's on 2 Fosgate 2500-1bdcp amps strapped.

The Subs sound great. Mine are still new and when they arrived the F was already peeling so no heat issues. I think the Chrome stickers are the ones to come off the most.
-
My Chrome sticker on the F is doing the same thing. It will not stay on at all. So i have an FI on one sub and an I on the other...lol

Fella's, today i decided to put some volume to my FI BL 12's and noticed very quickly that the dust caps got hot. I know it has to be one of three things. Either the amp is giving too much power to the subs, The amp is clipping or the voice coils are wired incorrectly?? I never noticed this until today. Any ideas?
-
No i didnt!! That sucks...
-
I have 2 FI BL 12's in a 4.23 cubic ft custom enclosure. The enclosure is tuned at 33hz. Is it possible to play below tuning? Also i cant seem to find anyone to set my gains properly so i will i know if i am clipping?

That guy is really popular out here. I just ordered a DD1
-
Ok i was wondering. I dont play any test tones or bass burp music. I have the fully loaded version of the BL's.
-
Sexy Subs....
-
I have BL's and they wang very hard with no issues. But i also did my homework and took the time to make sure my setup was right. A really good amp, wiring and a custom built enclosure tuned to what FI said its perfect for the subs.
-
Well i already tried both ways before asking here. I really didnt see a difference so i guess what i was asking is irrelevant. On to the next one.

Forum, I have a SUV and my setup is 2 BL 12's in a shared chamber ported enclosure tuned at 33hz. I was wondering would the subs sound better facing forward or to the rear of my SUV tailgate? The subs and port are on the same baffle. Right now i have them facing forward and it sounds really good but just wondering am i losing out on that chest pounding bass if they are facing the rear?
-
You will be fine but it also depends on your enclosure. What will you have it tuned at?
-
Well I will be running a set of dual 2's now so my amp will be seeing a 2ohm load. Its still over 3,000 watts to both subs. It sounds so good though.
-
Or maybe you can run a Rockford 1500.1? Those new ones hover around 2,000 watts at 1 ohm. Not sure the price on them though.
-
WOW!!! I think i might have to sell my 4 BL 12's and get 2 SP4 15's......I like the low of the lows but have never owned a set of 15's.
-
I didnt mean compete but they are similar power handling wise. I have listened too a few of the AA 12's and 18's and those things hit very hard. Cant wait to get a review of the new SP4.
