Wow so that much port is needed?
-
I have 48" of width, 36" of depth and 29" of height to work with. I can go more on depth if needed.
-
Actually 150 square inches of port?
-
Is 12 cubes net tuned to 31hz too much for 4 BL 12's? How about 140 inches of port?
-
Thinking about going with SP4 15 inch subs. Anyone can help with how many cubes I should build too and how many inches of port? Will be running them on about 6K of power. Thanks
-
I am building a new enclosure. This one will be around 10 cubes tuned to 31hz with 150 square inches of port.
-
I have 4 FI BL 12's and was wondering how many cubes net should I build an enclosure for them? Also how low should I tune to do hair tricks? They will be seeing a little over 6,000 watts of power.
-
I want to run 2 of the 15's.
-
I was wondering if anyone else experience a change in bass when adding volume. When I play my BL 12's at low to right below half volume they slam deep but if I go to half volume or more they play loud but not as deep anymore?
-
I just built a new enclosure and was wondering if 118 inches of port tuned around 31hz ok for my 4 fully loaded BL 12's?
-
This question is really technical. The 4 BL subs I have were from when FI made them available with 4 inch coils. I recently had them reconed but I believe they were reconed with maybe SP4 coils since they are 4 inch. If so does this alter how I should build my enclosure since the SP4 coil is longer than the standard BL coil?

Yes its built and done.

nendo bc5500 vs 2 rockford t2500
J2phat4u replied to sumplikapimp78's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I have 2 of the Rockfords strapped together at 2ohms and they require a good electrical but those things hammer strapped at the 2 ohm load. -
The final results in for the enclosure....8.15 cubes net tuned to 31hz with 118 inches of port. Will this work?
-
Alton I am not thread stealing but was wondering what would you recommend for 4 FI BL fully loaded 12's as far as cubes, tuning? I have an SUV so I have space to work with.
-
Yeah I kind of figured that....
-
The guy that's helping me with the enclosure is loading all 4 subs close to the center and putting dual ports on the edges. 2 cubes net per sub tuned at 30hz!!
-
Ok I am going to try that and see how it works. With the power I have and 4 of those subs if I tune down to 30hz and have the correct airspace it should make me dizzy
-
I just put a picture up on my profile of the current enclosure
-
Yes I can put the subs closer to the middle and then have the ports on the edges?? The way it is now 2 of the subs sit right at the port opening.
-
I have the single port down the middle now and it seems like the 2 subs close to the port opening are just moving and not really producing sound.
-
Ok so I should do two separate ports in a common chamber right?
-
Thats a good choice and a great amp!!
-
Maybe you can find something in classifieds thats better or wait and save a few bucks then get something decent? I never liked the idea of running really good subs on cheap amps....
-
I hope thats the case. Its only 2 re-cones.
