    Problems with my zv3

put a slot port in it and call it a day. adding a port will take up volume in the enclosure and give you more output. you can kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

Sound Noob - open for suggestions

IMO i think he wwould love the 15 in a sealed enclosure and with what he has he's not draining the electrical that much. big 3 with the new batt. should suffice.

    just bought a new truck

thanks guys. yeah, it's on. for the longest time i've never really needed anything louder than my current system (2 Vega Stroker 12's and a pair of Hifonics 2K amps), but i find myself more and more unsatisfied with it. i've had it for years so it's time for something new.

xcon 1.5 per voice coil question

...........edit: answer already posted edit again: should have gotten the Dual 1's if you want to get everything out of that amp with a pair of subs. you can't wire the Dual 2's to the ohm load that you need. you'll either be running way too low of an ohm load and fry the amp or way too high of a load and not get everything out of the amp. your ohm load will change with varrying frequencies. when you hook up your subs to the amp and see that 1.5ohms, thats called your "nominal" load. when your music is playing and the ohm load varries thats called your "reactive?" load and it is constanly changing. in real world you will never see that 1500 watts that your amp is supposed to put out unless you wire your subs down to say a .5ish ohms and your "box rise" takes you back up to 1ohm. I DO NOT EVER RECOMMEND DOING THAT

thats actually a .700 nitro express, not a .577. it's meant to stop an elephant dead in it's tracks and it does it very well.

give us dimesions, dimensions are the imporant part

    Deep Bass

subs up, port back, 5 cubes and have fun. what are the external dimensions of the enclosure, what is the thickness of wood used and tell us more about the port. if i were building the enclosure for that i would go 5 cubes (remember thats after displacement), subs up, port back at 30hz. i like mostly rap though, but if you listen to alot of different music then i would suggest you stay at your 33hz imo
  17. I was wondering if somebody with personal experience could tell me what they thought about the sd8k and 12k amps. Thanks
  18. anybody in the area that wants to meet up?
  19. well, it's been a while since i've been around here. i've been deep into a new project, a 91' Mustang that i've done tons on body work on and paint.. got everything pretty much wrapped up on that thing and was wondering if you guys wanted to get together sometime, somewhere?

also a properly designed and built enclosure can make a huge difference in output. we can help you in that area also.
