would i be better off going with a smaller speaker?
OuTLaWeD replied to Briggiboy33's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
I vote for sealed also at that enclosure volume. -
I agree with Stefan. I have become a fan of using Dire Straits "Money for nothing" when setting up my system. It provides the perfect balance to set with imo. Upgrading the front stage would greatly benefit the sound of your system. Get some 5x7 to 6.5 adapters and get decent set of components.

Yeah, I welded generator casings for the Airforce and Navy for a while and it wasn't too bad for pay. I wouldn't say it was great, but I did alright for myself. I know guys around here were getting $50/hr building a couple ethanol plants, but that was only 2yrs worth of work and after that you would have to travel and I can't do that with a family.

Seth that is such amazing news. Fucking winning.Me You Peng was somewhere too.... Then J Next that lazy butter sucker will have a good job. :-D I need a better job, any ideas?Education or trained skill set? Learn a service trade like nursing or go into business doing something you love. wife is a nurse, not for me. I'm a welder by trade and have a very mechanical skill set. Im at the max pay for my profession around here, but its still not enough for the toys i want. I like working with my hands and really like what I do for a living. Been debating on moving up to AK and weld on the pipelines. Still researching what would be best for the family as I can't be gone all the time.Pressure welder?I ARC, TIG and MIG weld. Most of the welding done on pipeline is going to be TIG. I've been wanting to go back to school for a full AWS certification and thought about starting this fall.

I think you have 2 issues to deal with. One being your frontstage not being able to produce proper midbass and the second issue is your x-over settings on maybe the whole system. Tell us a little more about the rest of your speakers, headunit and whatever else may be in there

Starting from scratch. The F5 Build log & updates
OuTLaWeD replied to iamamp3pimp's topic in Build Logs
I'm counting 32 subs, 16 amps, 4 300a alts and four 4th order bp enclosures. Hmmm I think you need MOAR -
You could be in a 120 degree warehouse infested with Mosquitos sniffing fishmeal dust. This is true, I drove a forklift for a few months to get by between layoffs in an aluminum extrusion plant where I don't want to know the levels of heat that were reached.I'm going through that now. The heat is absolutely absurd in a weld shop!

Gotta admit, it was a rough start. If he sticks around and actually proves himself he'll last. Hope he does his homework

Dude really locked up everything?

you must not have heard about the new mustang ford is working on. 1200Hp straight from the factory Well, thats a 200k car that only a few will be made and even less will own one. I can go down to dealer and drive off in a gt500 today, Thats what interests me. The GT500 isnt cheap by any means but it can be had in the 50's. that's one nice thing about factory supercharged or turbo vehicles, they are extremely easy to make huge hp with very little money

I thin Sean is a great guy also. Hard to understand at first, but really does mean well. I think that people are so use to REAL assholes and trolls on other forums that when they come here they don't know how to respond and just get upset because of all the questions that are asked and how in depth the conversations are. These guys are use to Meades board where everybody is a nut hugger and if one guy they know does a clamp test and it comes out better than advertised specs then they are all over it. It could be some POS brand like Pyle, but as long as a couple guys clamp the amp and it exceeds printed power they are all over it reguarless how dirty the amp really is. They are nothing but cattle for the most part when it comes to gear so most people aren't use to technical discussion and they get frustrated.
-
I knew it was gonna happen the second I seen Sean jump into the discussion lol.I was actually rather diligent in my wording to make sure it would come off as helpful as well. They obviously were fishing in their reply. Paint me the bad guy. Those guys are going to fail miserably as business owners though with that attitude. Yikes. yeah, I read that. People do take you differently though. I know you meant well, but people who don't really know you..........that's another story.

Help Us welcome Flatline Audio to the forum
OuTLaWeD replied to Flatline1's topic in Test 1, 2, 3...
Its really hard to understand people on this board. Its a lot more technical and they really try to help you grow in a way that I have not encountered on ANY other board. When I first came here I really didn't feel welcomed, but I stuck it out because of the knowledge I have read on the forums here. Now I not only feel accepted, I feel like this is home. M5 seemed like a complete Dick to me when I first came aboard, but after I read his signature and after getting to know him I realized he was just helping me learnlearn what I didn't know by questioning everything I said that way I would go back and research the information myself to better understand. Stick around, I think this place will grow on you.
