  1. theyre similar. and i would guess close enough. the HO alt is 14.8 and stock alt is 14.5 but thats with the vehicle at idle so i imagine the load the car draws probably drops its those few tenths. the main reason why i wanted to run the 4 chan amp off of the stock alt is so the sundown mono has the HO alt all to it self if it was like a 300 amp alt then for sure i would run the whole stereo off of it, isolated from the cars electrical. btw thanks for the replies guys!
  2. if your gonna spend 220 you might as well spend 260 and get an aq1200 (audioque is the company) it puts out round 500 watts at 4 ohm. 850 at 2 ohm and 1200 at 1 ohm. gives you room to upgrade your subs in the future aswell
  3. so run the alts parallel? there wont be a problem with the voltage difference between the two?
  4. Right so im gonna be running an mb quart q150 4 chan amp and a sundown 3500. what i want to do is run the 4 chan off of the stock alt/electrical with big 3 and a yellow top. a friend of mine has a 190 amp alt that he wants to sell me and hes also machinist so he can make brackets and whatever i would need to do this so mounting shouldnt be a problem. i want to have the 2nd alt isolated from the cars electrical and simply dedicated to a bank of batteries (couple kinetic hc2400's or there abouts) he said the alt is internally regulated to 14.8 v. so i guess the question is.. is there anything wrong with running the 2nd alt like this? any hickups or potentially dangerous problems i might face? =X thanks!
