I found the problem... You're running sundown woofers. If Barack Obama issued a subs for scrubs program these would be the issuance.

This is why pursuance of "SQ" builds are more challenging than throwing a bunch of power at a woofer woaloah magic.

How batts help?
cloud77 replied to AXEHAMMER's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Yeah get out of here! (I'm just mad because I don't know the answer) -
I didn't want to post this earlier but since I drank a few beers I guess I will. Every vehicle is different. Achieving a tolerable unwanted noise is a good thing. You can try a bunch of things to reduce the noise all you want; Blah Blah. When it comes down to it, equipment, equipment, equipment. No I didn't copy and paste.

BTL is the only series I do not own. I need a motor now that I have the amp.... MMATS

Keep what you have. You won't achieve much difference in overall output with the same box, power and come area. BL has more motor force but I dont see it changing much. Plus the airspace needed for either Q or BL is more than the SSD. Im almost positive Agreed, well put. The BL and Q also have same RMS ratings, with the BL requiring a lot more space, its probably not worth the time.

Your amp is supplying its rated power (sometimes) at all times, with proper voltage. the gain is just a volume knob. So don't think that is you're @ 3/4 gain you're putting 750, and so on. Don't just throw your gain all the way up and say "Bam, 1000 watts"

Wire matters too. By a small stinger, you mean which? IMO keep the die hard up front and get a big Xs Power in the back =] -
AMP Advice for my two SSA GCONs
cloud77 replied to joemosfet's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Don't diss it til' you try it.... MMATS -
bump for a nice amp, used to have a d300hc and just sold it for this price.
-
Thanks for this link. I needed one of these like you said to measure coil gap, coil thread to spider, exc. But I'm just going to go with the PSI parts I suppose. 165 shipped is pretty steep considering I don't want direct leads or a carbon fiber cap

AMP Advice for my two SSA GCONs

MMATS -
It would help him get a general idea of a coil length, but PSI just emailed me back and said 165 for a recone with direct leads, stitched, and carbon fiber cap...I think they throw in these options because their parts are shit?

An Fi Q 15" was one of the best sounding subs I've ever heard out of a sealed box and it gets rowdy as well. Don't rule this out. The sub I had was a pre '09 motor as well with a 1000 rms rating running off a Mmats d300hc. Superb sound, never hot. Its in my girls car now and she loves it. I'm sure the newer motors sound sexier, and they are a good sub for the price, American made, exc

Came across the motor for a good price. Took my chances and didn't do my research beforehand. I am pleased with what it is and how what I paid for it.

I never emailed you unless my buddy did. PSI would probably charge me $225+ and make me send it in instead of making me a drop in. They quoted me $250 to rebuild my XXX v3 and you guys have the drop ins for like 130 with extra spider, and integrated leads, and obvious Fi logo. Love your products, if I find a recone for a good price this guy said he would give me one of these motors =p should I post pics?

Hoping that NDMstang would chime in. This is the quicker way to get an answer back on a Sunday by all means

How can I change my 12" BTL n2 into a 15" ?
cloud77 replied to Notorious97200's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
Buy an adhesive kit from their accessories section as well. PSI and FI have the best CA glue IMO. You want to buy the 2oz which is good enough the recone about 2 15" woofers. As far as what tools and accessories you need, check out the videos on youtube from ShowtimeSPL on how to recone a woofer. This is how I learned and I have now successfully reconed more than 10 woofers. -
Bought this motor in the winter and now its a finished project. Fi BL 15 next to the XXX motor with a 15" basket This was how I bought it to find the spiders were off the landing; I glued them back down and ran some power to it via free air to find that there was mad coil rub =[ Finished with an Fi recone and doing some testing; Its now a 15" in 3.9 cu. ft. tuned in lower 34
