amp class sound characteristics
almond replied to blkonblk98's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Class A/B amps will be lower distortion, especially noticable at higher frequencies. Though, the downside is much lower efficiency. Check some of the "tech talk" section at www.zedamps.com he has some good info on amplifier "classes". I noticed an improvement in SQ with A/B's on my subs, but for the ammount of power I like to run, it's not really practical without serious electrical system upgrades. while there is some truth to this a few years ago, new technologies are reducing the amount of high frequency distortion that the class d makes which is making the full range class d amps have just as little distortion as the class a/b amps now. -
hey guys, if i needed a level 2 or 3 in a dual 2 ohm configuration, can you make that happen for me??

didn't realize they changed it since last year, when i saw it he had 13 12's and 52 amps. i might head over there in the morning to see if i can use the Tl to get a peak number. -

i've noticed that as well, i'm decently sure those aren't the original body panels though. -

and 137.6 sb1 for me. not bad for a single 12 in a trunk car -
the tweet's i'd rather not say (lol cheap short story) mli-65's for mids in the doors crossed at 90hz and 3.3khz and the tweets are crossed at 3.3khz up using an audiocontrol 2xs with freq. mod chips. it needs a litttle work, but i'm happy with it so far.

thought i would post mine real quick from left to right treo ssx 18 (blown) tc9 based fi q hybrid 12, oz audio matrix power re hc hybrid 12. and what i turned the treo into a 4inch coil powered 12 inch monster, runs daily on 3500 rms

oh, ok my misunderstanding.

i wouldn't call the sx a high tuned fart box sub at all, i had one in a box tuned to 29 hz and it belted out 140 at 30 hz with no problems. sure it might not win any sq awards, but it's fine for a daily sub.

i'm sure jacob has a digital caliper, if not you can always buy one from harbour freight for like $20. it makes this all much easier

should be a discount if they spelled "sence" wrong.

i love mine. i need to do a better install than what's in there now (don't ask lol) but they sound nice off the mmats sq4035, now i just need to find some better tweets to match. i would certainly reccomend them for a budget front stage, i honestly don't think you can find better for the money. oh and they are so well built, and freakin heavy for 6.5's

i think this is what i was talking about lol http://www.zaphaudio.com/6.5test/compare.html

3.3k hz on the upper end if i can remember right, i can't seem to find the response graph i was looking for.
