you can't get an the sx reconed with dual 2's the gap is to small. only dual 0.7's. i'll let them chime in because it may have changed, but i don't think so.

try disconnecting the sub, play some music and connect the multimeter to the amps speaker outputs and see if you get any power. you may have the sub wired wron if you have the - of one coil to the - of the other coil and the + of each coil going to the amp then the sub will work against it's self. i had that problem with the 12 i have now, except the terminals came backwards (happens sometimes on hand built subs) so i had to change my wiring.

That's a good way to blow his amp. that would give him a .5 ohm load. i'm thinking his coils are wired out of phase. when you have the gain up and the music going is the sub getting hot?? do you have access to a digital multimeter??

ok so here's the deal i bought a treo ssx motor and 18 inch backet. it's blown. has anyone reconed an ssx with a different cone?? i'm looking into tc sounds cone right now (i already have it sourced and kind of priced, just need to measure and make sure it will fit) can anyone help me out? oh and the reason i don't want to send it to treo is it will cost $188 for them to do it plus shipping to them, and it's not exactly a light sub if you know what i mean

are your gains set properly?? rca's are connected?? disconnect the sub from the box and use a battery to see if the connections inside the box are right.

you wouldn't be able to hear the clipping at that rate. might have just been my enclosure also. i had a huge amount of port area so it might have helped with the ventilation. what are you going to do with the sx??
