Ha, I'm 6'1" 220lbs and wear a size 7 shoe. Hands are similar.

Just knocked another $15 off the monthly expenses. Called my cable company and got a non advertised 15Mbps plan. It is quite the drop from 50Mbps but I found out my router was limiting me to 30 over wifi. I figure 15 is plenty as long as the latency is low (which it is).

How are you going to fit it in your carry on?

That's all moonshine really is. Grains or sugar. You can sell way more dilluted down to 80 or 90 proof, rather than high proof, which was easier to transport when it was illegal. Again, its all marketing, that moonshine is nothing more than cheap vodka.

Nice marketing. We took a good alcohol (tequila) and mixed it with a tasteless neutral grain spirit, make it sound awesome and sell it for more.

Freaking refs call a late hit on packers #70 because he threw a block and you see the Dallas defender tackle the WR after that block was thrown with no penalty on him...

Finally got around to calling Direct TV. I spent 15 min on the phone and am now saving $15 a month. My buddy just signed up for an account under my referral so I'll get an additional $10 off as well.

I'm paying $50 for 50Mbps. I've never seen 50, but I regularly see 30 Mbps

When did you buy it? I'm assuming it appreciated to the value it is today?

I found a good insurance agent that isn't tied to a company. I'm excited to see what my quotes are. I also have a buddy that works at an insurance company. His quote came in about $300 dollars a year lower overall.

Gaming actually uses very little bandwidth. I would bet it uses as much or less than surfing facebook.

Comcast is our cable company. I get 30Mbps down and 8Mbps up and home phone for 62.00 a month, just internet would have been $10 more. So for the savings I have a home phone. I know it makes no sense. I will not give up my directv, even though I fight with them a lot over pricing. Good experience with DirectTV then? From a home automation perspective it is WAY better for me. I think Direct TV is awesome. My ONLY problem is after 1 year your cost basically doubles and then after 2 years I don't see any reason to stick around. Your bill goes up more, they don't give you any real discounts. I originally considered switching to DISH and using them for 2 years. Then I would be considered a new customer at direct TV again and switch again for 2 years, rinse and repeat.

Never happen. You simply will not see those speeds, I don't care what they say. I don't know anyone who has been happy switching to dish/directdirect TV. You must not know anyone then. Leaving cable was the best thing I ever did. I have never met anyone who says otherwise. Sure, dealing with pricing can be a bit of a pain, but they always work with you in the end. Reminds me that I need to call and threaten to cancel, I need to bring down the cost a bit more. Which will be odd because my buddy just signed up for service to get us the refer a friend discount

I always though DSL was kind of like fast dial up which was bad (tied to a phone line still) A solid 3mbps is enough for Netflix (720p) more is obviously better but you need no more than 8 solid, like you said. Dish is introducing it's own Streaming Only option (http://www.droid-life.com/2015/01/05/dishs-sling-tv-service-nets-you-espn-cnn-food-network-and-more-for-20-a-month/) Cable should provide the best bang for your buck unless you have fiber available. That being said, I have looked into AT&T to save some money.

We have the same router I am pretty sure. I have not installed DD-WRT as I have no idea what it is though. It's an open source software that is designed to get the most out of your router. I used it to track bandwidth at my old house, but I liked it so much, I've installed it on all my routers since. I've had very few issues with my router (Asus RT-N12)

You: Look at my welding job! Everyone else: There is a big red stain waiting to happen on your table in the second pic!
-
Haha, it seems when you post pics in the hop no one actually looks at what you photographed, they look at everything else.

Have DD-WRT on the router? I ought a cheap Asus router for $20 and haven't had a problem since installing DD-WRT

Shouldn't any 4K TV have it's own up-converter? And shouldn't it not be any better than the 1080P Content?

That means I need a 99" TV for my living room. If it's a large room, probably. It does make sense. It's the 1st time I've thought my 40" was small. I'm not a big fan of watching movies on it and when I play video games I actually sit on the coffee table to be closer.
-
It's hard for me to pay $1500+ for 4K when I can get 1080P for less than $1000
-
Currently have a 40"
