Like 10 mph I was taking it easy unless it was somewhere fun. I really want to go ride the cart paths at the golf course. There are lots of little rolling hill and turns and of course it looks great. I figure someone will kick me off though, but I can outrun the carts

Got a 10 mile ride in last night. Took the big hill at the end of my ride and hit 38 mph

My general philosophy in workout is ever evolving, but the more I get into it the more I feel you should be at either extreme or just having fun. Bike riding example: If your looking to improve your overall health (not train for a specific biking event) either ride at a fat burning heart rate or do all out 15-45 second sprints. Otherwise just ride in a way that is fun (i.e. - taking your kid to soccer, mountain biking, etc) If you have a lack of time, I feel like the best bang for your buck is low rep high weight lifting. In both dead lifts and squats it takes great abs and back muscles to keep your back in line and maintain proper form. NOTE: If there are problems with your back you would have to work this in VERY slowly. I do feel like there are very FEW situations where it is advantageous for a person to quit lifting all together. I think a lot of people lift with poor form, make their issue worse, then blame it on the lifts and stop. You will always need to lift something in life so getting practice in a controlled environment makes sense to me. If lack of mobility or equipment is a problem I would recommend yoga. It's on the low end of the extreme spectrum and is just good for the body. I wish I did more. I would also recommend sprints. Sprints are, oddly enough, a good core workout. Your workout will be shorter than your warm up and cool down and you accomplish a lot in a small amount of time. Disclaimer on the extreme workouts: They have to be worked into. Your power making muscles are usually stronger than your supporting muscles. The first few times you do them it may not seem like you did much as you hold yourself back.

Anybody work with Solidworks and/or know a good place for some training in it?
-
Big reason I got the bike tuned up was because I plan to ride to work with a buddy of mine. 18 miles one way. However, they just shut down the back road between home and work to do maintenance on a bridge so I may have to wait.

I love knowing my cadence. I'd rather cadence over speed. Odo's are cool to know how far you've gone. I like going out on the bike, pedaling different routes, etc and then seeing later how I went X miles.

Bike is back from the shop. The cable was frayed at the shifter and the derailleur. They greased everything up, trued the wheels, tuned the shifting, got a new front tire (old one had a gash in the sidewall). I put a new battery in the computer and got it all back and running. Unfortunately, I have no idea how many miles were on the odo when it died. Feels good to be in the saddle again. Hit 31 going down hill near my house (maxing out my gearing at 50/11, but not maxing out my cadence). It's fun to be riding along at the same speed as the cars.

Ironically, a guy rode by me on a Trek Fat tire bike yesterday. He was riding with no hands and made a pretty quick turn.

Agreed, though it is relative. Im fine using my road bike daily or on 30+ mile rides

I use my drops when flying down big hill, whe the wind is pushing me hard mostly.

When I go tour de France, I do.

My plan is all asphalt and pavement as long as I have my road bike. Non-technical dirt trails could be a possibility.

Vintage in the true sense of the word She can ride a bike and she's more athletic that she claims. She's a swimmer. Her workout swim speed is just a tad slower than my all out sprint speed and she can swim a mile no problem. Biggest thing for her will be getting comfortable with clip in pedals.

I'm on a 2009 vintage Trek 1.2 (Sora components)

Or we both get fatty bikes and if I get bored I hit the ditches or something.

Next bike will be for the wife. Comfort will be a priority, but I do't want her to end up with something so much more inefficient that I feel like I'm barely moving on my bike.
-
So does my road bike; just a different kind of laugh.
-
That's right, the Holland's bike. So the big tires don't kill the efficiency on the road?
-
Have you posted pic of said bike?

Doesn't count

Werd, I understand it's photo's of someones special moment, so I wouldn't want to intrude on that. I understand changing color but I think it's stupid to physically edit people. However, photoshopping out something obscene in the background makes sense to me.

Quick detailer of any kind or diluted car soap..

Dodo Juice Born Slippy clay lube. I would probably use Optimum No Rinse, because I could also use it for quick in between washes as well. I pretty much used this guide linked below for everything on my wife's Santa Fe. That being said, I didn't buy clay lube because I still had some Zaino Quick Detailer that worked. http://www.detailedimage.com/Ask-a-Pro/2006-acura-tl-in-nighthawk-black-pearl-part-2/
