Every F150 looks like every other F150 as well but that doesn't stop anyone from buying premium models. Also, the M5 has always looked like a 5 series and the 3 and 5 series have always ebbed and flowed at how similar they look. Does it do what you want it to do is the question.

Online turned out to be the problem. Found a local store that had one. Helmet tech has come a loooong way in the 13 years since I bought my last helmet.

I'm having problems finding a full face MTB helmet due to low supply

If it's high slip on, it's Ariat all the way!

Low, slip or lace. I agree, the last time I went to a boot store, the owner ended up talking to me FOREVER and I still have the scars from that encounter

Two questions. 1.Any recommendations on nice leather boots? 2. Any recommendations on nice looking steel/composite toe boots. Looking for something without a huge heel or rugged sole, preferably.

Feel free to send links to killer portables.

I started using again on Tuesday, so sometime before then?

Ability to set ratio, apply filters, color correct, etc.

Obviously Android is trolling my posts. They added all the features I liked on iPhone to the Android app

I've always typed messages.android and never realized it was redirecting me to messages.google. I use it, but not a huge amount in my profession. I could see how it would be very useful.
-
You mean going to messages.android.com or something else?

Read all of this with the full understanding that I will be switching back to Android at some point, but with a new perspective. Oddly enough, I may end this experiment by buying a flagship Android device instead of the mid-range devices I've been buying over the last 4-6 years.

I agree, but I think that it is exactly the fundamentals that Apple does right for it's consumer base. Clicking a thumbnail that immediately put's your phone into full screen to watch the video is far superior to clicking an awkward looking link. It seems silly but it's true. This wasn't a controlled study, but I tried to send my iPhone friend a video I put together. Each way I sent it, he said it was really grainy. When I got the iPhone I immediately sent him the same video through iMessage and it was super clear.

I see the draw to go apple if a lot of your family uses apple or if you use other apple products (mac, mac book , iPad, etc.). Convincing a group of iPhone users to switch to another messaging app when iMessage/ FaceTime is really good is a hard ask.

Video seems better quality to me. Also, I was able to take a video, crop the frame, do some light adjustment, adjust the beginning in end in a flash. With Android I can only crop the beginning and end and the time to save the new video takes a long time. I'll also throw in that sharing videos amongst other iPhone users is simple and great quality. I still haven't found a good way to send a video on android that isn't uploading it and sending a link

Also, my friend sent me his old Iphone x and after being an Apple hater for so long, I'm kind of torn. FaceID is really convenient (when not wearing a mask). The video experience is reaaaaaally good (to the point that if you had any intention of publishing your videos I wouldn't even consider Android). The flow in and out of apps is much smoother. The voice recognition of Siri is superior despite the fact that Google has been learning my voice for years. Additionally, the length of time Siri will listen helps me get my thoughts to text without worrying about it stopping. Screen rotation is so smooth. On Android is seems to rotate begrudgingly. Lastly, any app that I use on Android is available on the iphone (though at times is slightly inferior and less integrated). By having an iphone you can have access to both worlds. The cons? The interface hasn't changed much since my iPad2 in 2012. The notification system is lacking immensely (it's the backbone of android and the after thought of iOS). Apple Maps is insufficient and Google Maps is neutered. The widgets are lame and the ability to layout your home screen isn't good. Everything in iOS feels "small" as in they don't seem to utilize space well to make it easy to navigate. My wife's Pixel 4a has a smaller screen but the screen feels bigger. Overall, I'm walking away impressed and could see why people like iphone. I also have realized that most iOS users do not utilize their phones at all. I think that they are stuck on Android of the past and think it's "janky". I think most iOS users would be perfectly satisfied with a Pixel 4a at half the price of the cheapest iphone. /Vamp

Speaking of new toys. I'm taking on a new form of transportation and I'm stoked. I'm jumping into the developing world of electric unicycles. A couple of my friends have them and use them like crazy. Huge learning curve but after you get it, as my friend puts it, anything you can do standing up, you can do on your ewheel. Riding it feels like you are in the future. Pretty cool technology too. Essentially, the gyroscope senses wheel when you move front and back and the motor powers up to catch you. My particular model is capable of 30 mph and 60 mi range. Some models can go 45 mph!?!?

Ahh, winch is pretty cool. I imagined someone pushing that boat/trail in and thought that would have to be a huge PIA. Still makes me wonder why not pull it in backwards. Seems like it would be a pain to spin around.

Why you not back in???

Going to use turbo mode on my headlamp to blind you and steal your schnaps!

After way too much research I landed on the Fenix HM61R https://www.fenixlighting.com/product/fenix-hm61r-multi-use-headlamp/ You get a 20% coupon for signing up for their news letter so it was ~$68 total. Has a 950 Lumen turbo beam and as low as a 1 Lumen red led It also detaches, has magnetic bottom, and rechargeable battery included. Pretty cool amount of features for a head lamp. What sold me on this style (other than the red) is that you can rotate the light up, which makes it convenient to use like an area light in dark spaces.

What got me thinking of it more than marketing is working on some of our 5.3L L83's from silverado's at work. We do some non-standard stuff but the intake track of the engine looked terrible at just 19,000 miles. Additionally, when my barb broke, I saw how much black carbon was getting dumped. Granted, that doesn't necessarily mean it's bad, it just "looks" bad. All of it got me to asking questions and all my online research was inconclusive.

I broke a PCV barb on my truck today and it got me thinking? Anyone have real info on catch cans? I see how dirty some of the engines at work get, but we do some weird stuff with them. I can't find reliable information that says it's worth it or not. The amount of black, dirty crap getting on my intake pipe with it unplugged suggests it could be helpful.

Head lamp recommendations? Wanted to stay in the $50 range, then this caught my eye... https://www.fenix-store.com/fenix-hm65r-rechargeable-headlamp-1400-lumens/?gclid=Cj0KCQiAyoeCBhCTARIsAOfpKxg0zmpBZ4F83A09XHaclC-kcIfD3i-HFQgoSUelt7YfIledFSsK2BoaAuQBEALw_wcB
