totalled my truck, getting ready for new setup
MKader17 replied to truckaudioman's topic in General Audio
Its a ford, not like you had much performance to begin with Also don't forget to factor in that with a blow through you will also probably have more/bigger amps, more/bigger subs, extra battery, extra sound deadening to stop rattles, bed cover of some sort, etc... You also may need an HO alternator which will pull more power from the engine then the stock alt (probably not much more but with performance, everything counts) -
Actually could have easily been in the single digit 1/8 judging from my early number on my screw up run

Amp for HAT L61-2
MKader17 replied to dlink's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
If it were me I would consider the 2channel/4 channel over the 5 channel. Since your new to the scene you might find that your goals are significantly different then you expected. Tmax98 went the 2channel/4channel route and then realized he wanted subs w/ more output so that gave him the option to sell the small two channel, move the 4 channel to tweets/mids and bought a biggger amp for some new subs. This does add a little bit more in the way of wiring, but to me its good insurance. -

What we are saying is if you have 5.0 cu ft net and if one 12 requires 1 - 2.5 Cu Ft per woofer and one 15 requires 2.5- 5.0 cu ft per woofer you are probably better off with the 12s... yeah thats what i realized too....id rather have 2 maxxed out 12s rather than 2 15's that sound like total chit....but again for a future install, i wanna upgrade to 2 12" btls, but all im focused on is what i am gonna get as my college acceptance present which is the 2 BLs =) I wouldn't say "maxxed out" . More like "optimal" Usually maxxed is used in a situation where mechanical or thermal limits are being reached or when clipping begins to occur. -

x2 You can also get really creative with sound deadening to reduce rattles. Rattling everything in your car will be cool at first, then it will get annoying and you'll start tracking them down -
Don't have much to add but mmmm I love the DLS's. How does the Iridium set sound? Also, like that 6th gen Maxima

Yeah I don't know about all that. Just one port with the correct amount of surface area is what you will want. -

I'm really thinking these rims on my truck. 18" OEM Titan rims I can get them for $350 with 50% tread tires (though there not the size I want) But I could at least run the tread off them.... or burn it off They're something simple, cheap, and would allow me to run bigger brakes. I dunno if they may look out of place on my light colored truck
