    Welcome to the IHoP

For some reason I can not stop thinking of different projects for the summer. So far in the wood working category New Desk - the more I think about it the more expensive it gets. "Entertainment center" - For the up stairs where the BIB's will be located this summer. Want to get the Adcoms' off the ground and have a place for the media computer and a 19" flat screen monitor Living Room Entertainment center- hopefully the upstairs one will get the rents off there ass for the one in the living room. I'm tired of the damn 50" LG sitting on top of the old 50" Projection mitsu. In the motor category Modding the 400 Sportsman - Would love to drop a 500 in it but I think that is too much $$$ want to atleast getting the 400 running good and strong and put a lift, some 27's under it and a snorkel Build a minibike - I've got a 5hp tecumseh laying around that has been asking to be a part of a mini bike. my neighbor has an old mini-bike that I might buy and make a good frame for it. dunno yet. Audio- ATV System - Want to be able to Jam on the ATV. I would use the DLS R6A's passive w/ 2 tangband 6.5" subs and an old radios shack amp for it just haven't got around to it since I have to fiberglass a box up Carputer - Would be a big project with lots of custom work but sooo much fun 3 Way active - Self explanitory, doubt I'll have the finds too pull it off this summer.....

    Welcome to the IHoP

K guys I am trying to convert RPM to MPH and have some questions. Given RPM - 3800 CVT Clutch - (Don't know ratio range for this) Assumed 1 Gear Ratio of Transmission - 2.68 Front Sprocket connected to Transmission - 11 Teeth Rear Sprocket connecte to final drive shaft - 39 Teeth Tire Diameter - 24 in With all this I am calculating a speed of 26.8 mph, but the problem is our mini baja this year had this setup and was reaching speeds of atleast 30+ mph. I'm assuming that the CVT eventually goes into "overdrive" but I'm not sure of the ratio. A .8:1 overdrive from the CVT would put the speed at 33.4mph which sound more reasonable Does this sound reasonable to you guys? I am trying to figure out what kind of tranmission I want to use for the baja and we were considering a Honda Foreman transmission with a front dif used for the rear but by my calculations the top speed would only be 23 MPH in 5th gear which really isn't enough.

5.3L! x2 You can drop a 5.3L into a 240sx and the 5.3L is lighter than the stock block

    Welcome to the IHoP

8's Your truck SUCKS for pillar work btw. Stupid crap GM dash. I'd do kicks. How so? I really don't want to do kicks. Though i do already have an extra pair of kickpanels in the room incase I ever wanted to. I feel like the kicks in the truck are to small and tucked away.

Really think I want to skip doing a better 2-way Actice and go for the 3-way. I've got the processing power now, and a long summer to do some work. I would like to a tweet/midrange in the pillars with 8's in the doors. I really want something that can raise up my stage aout in front of me and i think this would be perfect.

Looking at my system though. If upgraded to a different 2-way active I'm probably looking at 2.2K as well with all the deadening. Which is just fuggin crazy to think about, but hell its fun.

    Welcome to the IHoP

Just listened to a guys system on a Jeep. He showed me the reciept and it was $2200 for the whole thing. 2 10" type E's w/ Coaxil Type R's, and a component set of tpye R's. The coaxils were installed in the headache rack and the components are installed in the floor of the B Pillars facing the back sides of the seat. All powered by 2 Kenwood amps w/ a Pio Headunit So $2200 for all rear fill. Though I will say it was loud and decently clear and would be good for cruising the beach with the top off and the 10's were pretty good for what they were. Just crazy though to spend that much for that.

Wow, thats a lot to chew on K so your desk looks pretty big... I like it. Configuration I'm still throwing around I like the idea of a raised ledge towards the back. I could possibly only do that on the sides of the back and leave room to push the latpop back for working space. I could possibly do something like yours and then incorporate my own rolling shelves, cabinets later. Easy to move would be cool, but not the highest priority. I would like it a little more refined looking on the sides, possibly covered sides? ~$100 would be stellar Metal would be great to help make it stronger, I like it strong Assuming your talking about slides/rollers on the drawers? Mcmasters is crazy By the way my neighbor restores antiques and has built cabinets and helped my dad build his work bench, so anything I need or possible crazy tools I should have access to.

    Welcome to the IHoP

Yep, I've got some ideas. Do you have any specific goals you want to accomplish, budget, materials, or look you want to copy? Not really big on the terms of goals. Just looking for something that I can do work on. My current desk has wood longitudinally up the desk and its uneven, which is really annoying. Would be cool to have an extra level to set the laptop up on so I can do work in front of me and still have the laptop to view. As far as material. I don't want it to look like a cheap ass college budget but I don't have the skills you do so I don't want to make it too nice.

Got the truck muddy this weekend and this was only while driving on a "road" Went and shot some clay this weekend. I'm terrible at Skeet. Shot 10/25 each round. I did hit 21/25 on Trap and ~13/25 on Sporting Clays. I think I need to stop using the pump
