They are shielded and the 4 ohm version. Don't know how much of a difference that makes. I know the was a difference in frequency response between my tweeter in a normal configuration and shielded. I wish I could use these in the Zaph Revelator tower. I would definitely talk the parents into buying these so I could build the 2.5 Way to start out the HT

I think Farve on the Vikes is pretty cool myself lol. Can't wait to see how it unfolds. I'm over the fact the he "ruined his legacy" with the cheese heads and ready to see how much farther he will take it. Hell you only have one life to live. Why not do what you love.

    Welcome to the IHoP

Okay I'm going to start looking into getting the parents fixed up on the home theater audio and get rid of the Blose. The parents finally got a new flat screen, a new TV stand and we are getting direct TV sometime this week. I realized that our home audio has a total of 12 2.5" speakers a blose passive radiator whatever and a RCA prebuilt subwoofer. It's time to dump this shit. It looks to me that I can do 6-8ohm and have 5x100W@6ohms. I want to build them some nice towers first to get the ball rolling, then hopefully a center based off the towers, a sub, and if I'm really lucky some little surrounds to top it all off. Any particular projects that you guys have in mind? By the way i have a very tall cathedral ceiling in the house so the speakers have a lot of airspace to fill.

check out the newegg reviews. You will pretty see with any of them a bunch of positives and a couple negatives where the product didn't work and newegg made it right. Just make sure the MHz matches up but everything else looks fine

  14. I blew the tweets on my DLS components and its time for an upgrade. I just got the H701/C701 installed recently so now I have full control of crossovers, slopes, etc... However, I can't go 3 way because of budget constraints and the constraint of me not wanting to do fiberglass work in 100*+ weather. So what I'm looking for is a killer 2 way setup with a 6.5"+ speaker and a tweet (can do large format). Initial budget is/was $300 but it is flexible. As far as prior experience I have heard TMax's CA18 and LPG tweet (I think that's it) and love the mid. So I am considering a variation of that woofer. As far as tweets I haven't been impressed by really any since my first set of components when I heard a real tweeter. I'm hoping I can change that for myself. M5 has recommended the OW1's to me but I'm not sure my budget can justify it. That should be all the information required, so have at it!

    Welcome to the IHoP

Just ordered the ER18RNX with the 27TDFC. Zaph was most convincing about the tweet and said it was very strong off axis. We will see how it goes

    2 Way for the Silverado

By the way, I'm not sure why anyone would mount speakers to the door panel, much less 2 6.5"s and what does my space under my back seat have anything to do with the question?

    Welcome to the IHoP

What does this all mean? Its from the Zaph site for the ZA-SR71 kit

    2 Way for the Silverado

It's Extended cab. I have 2.25" seat lift with a 12" Icon in 2.25 Cuft tuned to 34ish. I have heard the pillars is a bad place in a Silverado I'm highly considering ER18RNX midbass with 27TDFC tweeter, which is setup used on the Zaph site. The review says they are very good off-axis

    2 Way for the Silverado

2002. It has the big speaker grill, a lot of stuff can fit behind it
