Saw some 35" Toyo's Open Country M/T's on a newer chevy today. Makes me realize how small my tires really are. My truck is going to look completely different with some new tires.

    Welcome to the IHoP

mkay so my eyes have lead me to Dick Cepek Radial FC II and the Parnelli Jones Dirt Grip. The dirt grip looks amazing, got rave reviews, and is actually supposed to have a good load and spped rating, but I seem to not be able to find them, which makes me think they were a bust. You guys know anything about them?

    Welcome to the IHoP

My dad had terrible luck with terra grapplers. (one just separated driving down the highway) I've never seen anyone who disliked BFG A/Ts (except for the price). As far as "what I care about". I've spent a lot of time and money in sound deadening and I'd feel like an idiot to ruin that with loud tires (so yeah, I basically just took away the mud grapplers) My hope was at the time I changed tires I would have gotten a newer DD car and the truck would be a long distance vehicle anymore, but oh well. As far as on road performance. my drop down link on my front sway bar broke a few months ago and I still haven't taken the time to fix it, so I guess you can take that for what it's worth... However, I will fix that sometime. As far as off road performance. Most of my offroad time is on the beach and sometimes on the Deer Lease. Sometimes I do stupid stuff where I'm glad I have a 4wd Though the rear locker has made the best difference in offroad performance. Your best bet would a true all terrain tire in that case; Radial FC II's, DuraTracs, BFG A/T KO's, Grabber AT2s, High Country AT's, etc. There are a lot of "all terrain" tires out there that are basically designed to get a soccer mom SUV/CUV through a dirt road so watch out Thanks Peng, I'm definitely digging some of those tires. Now time to review and price

I remember that they had plenty of tread. Don't remember load rating but he wasn't caring a load when it happened. I want to say he had 2 separate problems with them that finally made him switch.

    Welcome to the IHoP

Just for the record guys, I am looking for some 17x8 (or 17x8.5) Wheels for a silverado (looking at black rims) and some 315/70/17 BFG A/Ts or 35x12.5x17 BFG Mud Terrain KM2s or Nittod Mud Grapplers I'm also open to being talked into other tires Just for the record I'm fighting between being practical and having bad ass tires. Conidering I'll still be driving this truck a lot (any road trips etc...) the AT's and the KM2s seem much more practical. I always wanted the mud grapplers because they look bad ass but I doubt I would care for highway road noise.

    Welcome to the IHoP

Having a "what would (insert your name) do?" moment I have a Dell E1505 Laptop. Recently I was at a friends and some juice got spilled under it. Every now and then when you turn it on it says something like "new memory installed etc..." you hit the power button and it turns directly off, push it again and it come on just fine. It actually hasn't done it recently. Sometimes is seems it's running slower... Also, something is royally screwed up with the lid *goes to take a pic* Its progressively gotten worse over the last year. so much so that both sides of the lid pop up now. Should I try to take this to someone to fix it? As far as the hardware is concerned is there anything I can do/replace or do I have to wait for it to crash. And I assume it could possibly be the mother board that is on the fritz which means I basically would need a new comp.... Here is one pic. The photobucket app on the Droid blows.... couldn't get the rest to upload.

    Logging my Progress

I love em! Sadly though, I have some extra bone growth on the bottom side of my foot when I broke it a few years ago so I don't think I can do hard surfaces on those regularly... Things have been a bit crazy since I got accepted to Grad school. Haven't gotten any running or cycling in really this week, but have stayed active and got in all my workouts. Get to move myself out of my old apartment tomorrow. Been a little cheating on the diet but I've kept it under control.

    Logging my Progress

So after reading Dem Beats - Health Check, I am inspired to do something similar. I have been looking for a way to write down my journey, and there is no better place than SSA! I've actually done this before here. I had results overall but was also starving for information and learning along the way. It's 2 years down the road now and I have learned a lot of information, so this time I'm going to try and track my progress near daily and help keep my thoughts in check. Start.... Current Weight - 208.5 (as of right now) *note* I am using my home scale... it is wrong (reads low) but its the best I got so I'm rolling with it ** I started this summer at 215 with the goal of 185-190. The first 5 pounds is always easy for me (2 days honestly) then it slows down. I'm doing something unprecedented for myself. Typically I only take vitamins and recently I began taking Fish Oil Pills. I have incorporated some other supplements into my diet in hopes to help my fat loss and support lean muscle building and endurance. Namely, the two I've started recently is cinnamon extract and L-carnitine. Cinnamon extract is supposed to level out your blood glucose level, lower cholesterol, and increase glucose metabolism, as well as treat all kinds of possible problems. L-carnitine is supposed to help the use of fat as an energy source. Their are also many claims on performance increases. The verdict is really still out on this and I took on a stretch to use it. I am introducing things slowly, one at a time, to confirm that their are no negative effects on my body. I feel that it will be hard to distinguish positive effects that each supplement provides considering that I can not isolate the variable enough to warrant taking the time to see how well they work. As much as I hate to admit it, I am going to introduce a fat burning pill. I usually shy away from these products because I know they aren't necessary and their effectiveness isn't truly proven, but the 210 plateau kills me and I'm really looking to break it. Also, I figure that I give it one try. If it doesn't work, cut my losses and go on my way. If it does... Awesome! Activity I am currently doing a lot of biking. My goal is to do a 100 mile ride at the end of the summer called the Hotter N Hell 100. I am definitely unsure if I will make this goal but I will try my hardest. Currently I bike 5 days a week, run 2 days a week, lift 3 days a week. I am isolating certain parts to ensure that my body gets adequate rest and to reduce my risk of injury. My lifts are light weight because I have had hamstring problems and a shoulder problem. I am doing my best to roll into the weights and strengthen these parts safely. That's all of my blabbering for now. I'm going to post up last weeks riding log and todays work out shortly...

I only knew of him so I can't really say anything good or bad about him for me i really dont give a shit about the Yankees. If you can throw that much money at a team, then they better win. To me it's just an unfair advantage with a team salary like that. No other team gets close to the Yankees payroll yes I too am not so pleased with the lack of an MLB salary cap then again I almost never watch professional sports of any kind anymore so meh MLB has a salary cap, however it can be exceeded by paying a premium. Do tell. I was unaware of this.

Lunch KILLED me today. I went to an italian place where I guess they hide Fat in EVERYTHING. There freaking bread is 1200 cal a loaf with 86g of fat! Oddly enough, I was still short of my recommended 3700 cal by about 700 and I did a lot of working out today (10 mile ride, lifting, 2 mile run), but I had 43% Carbs, 41% Fat and 13% Protein today (Fat secret is pretty cool that is keeps track of all of that for you) Ran for the first time in my KSO's and ran a minute and 30 seconds faster than the last time I ran the same course 4 weeks ago.

I'm even going to update on my rest days! Doing some good tracking of my food intake today and I didn't even hit 2000 calories. I still find it nuts that fatsecret.com recommends I get 3700 a day. Also, according to shapeup.org I should not get ANY LESS than 2000 a day or they say my body will go into starvation mode.... This still all blows my mind...

    Welcome to the IHoP

I was very disappointed with the entire game. It felt slow and ho hum. Spain was diving a little too much, and the Netherlands were too packed in the middle of the field and did not take enough shots while turning the ball over too often. Should have turned your volume up. There was plenty of hum

    Logging my Progress

Did a long ride today. Topped out at 41.15 miles. Kept a pace just over 17mph for the entire ride. Felt good to get a long ride in. Also joined Fat Secret as they have teamed up with the Calorie Counter app on the Droid so I can track my food from the phone or the computer and they automatically sync each other. What I found interesting is they recommend that a person of my size and activity level get 3700 Calories a day. It says that with resting sleeping and the exercise I did today I will burn 4453 calories today and currently I have eaten 1706 leaving me at a 2747 calorie deficit for the day! I find it hard to take stock in all this but I do like that I can track my food fairly easily so I'm going to see how well it works. This all takes up a bunch of time but currently I have plenty of it. And I hope that what I learn from it all can be used later when I don't have time to track it.

    Welcome to the IHoP

So I have something similar to the link below in my truck to connect my Pioneer HU to my Droid http://cgi.ebay.com/PIONEER-HEADUNIT-IP-BUS-3-5-mm-AUX-AUDIO-CABLE-/320549712761?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4aa2407379#ht_1375wt_911 I run this into a Female to Female plug into a Male to 2 Female plug and finally 2 Male to Male cords that run up to my car dock and my center console (so I can plug other friends stuff in) Problem is I have connection problems at the very first connection. If it's not just right it will not play the left audio. Which is really hard to keep perfect in a car audio environment. I'm thinking about cutting off the male end and soldering on a new one that fits the plug better. Ideally it would be cool if I could cut the connection and make it split into two female connections as that would cut down on connections. If it all fails I could just try and buy a different cord from my pioneer to 3.5mm
