So I knew I forgot information. I have a 2002 Silverado and really would prefer a 1 din as putting a 2 din in an 02 is a lot of work. It's doable, but I won't have time for custom work like that anytime soon.

That sucks if these guys have no margin on bikes. When I bought my road bike I did buy all my extras from them but everything was installed free and my 300 mile service was free as well.

I didn't. I just said the stand over for both frames worked for me. the 21" felt more comfortable while riding. I'd like to see some examples of some honest to goodness production mountain bikes with no front suspension Definitely wouldn't know a place that measures for custom frames. Also don't know if I would want to waste someone's time being fitting for a bike when I'm not going to buy one in the price range. Would you mind posting any models that may fit the criteria (even if its minny craigslist)

I rode the 19" and the 21" and the 21" just felt better. Either one i can adjust to my height and either on I could stand over. Hard tail because they are cheaper and I would rather put money into components than rear suspension. (seems like my legs are good "rear" suspension) Front suspension because they don't make mountain bikes with out them anymore. Goals: Found out there are some trails around College Station and I want to go hit them up or go ride it where ever. Take it to the deer lease and go have fun tearing it up. Mountain biking seems a bit more social than road biking. Also will be doing a tandem ride/run event next year and need a descent mountain bike for it. I used a Specialized Expedition last year, the shitty twist shifters sucked and it really killed the experience. Not to mention the ergos of the bike sucked (as its more of a hybrid). Honestly, I feel a mountain bike with descent shifters (read anything better than the twist shifters) would make me plenty happy. Budget - 400-600 Only bikes I've ever road are the ones I tried at the shop today. They were all Specialized Hardrock's with discs (19"/ 21"/ 21" w/29" Tires) The only problem I have buying used is that the selection generally is not good around here and it seems people are proud enough that new bikes are worth it. The best selection is in Houston, I don't live there anymore, and even if its available in the area I am really busy and taking the time to search for the bike and drive to see it and maybe not buy it it a lot. Also, I still don't feel like I could truly pick apart a used bike well enough to know if its a good deal or not

Hey guys I'm looking into MTB's (again) Went to some local shops. The one that sells Trek (which of course I am bias to because of my road bike) seems to be getting a lot of bad reviews (high service prices mostly). They didn't have a huge selection but did have the bike I was interested in (4 Series Hardtail) Went to another shop today to compare prices and such. They carry Specialized and Giant as well. I think they carry low end giant for people just looking for bikes to get around campus, but I'm sure that means they could order what I'm interested it. I rode a couple different frames (19" and 21") I really liked the 21" frame. I also rode 26" and 29" tires and both were basically fine. I didn't think the 29's look bad ass. As far as pricing is concerned it seems like Specialized was more bang for the buck. ($500 for a their disc brake hardtail Vs. $659 for Treks cheapest disk brake hardtail) Only thing is I really like the frame aesthetics and color schemes of the Trek's a lot more. However the Specialized 29'er with discs did look like a beast. Anywayzzz I was looking for some advice from you guys on the situation. possible comments disc brakes vs. v brakes 26 vs 29 Specialized vs Giant vs Trek thanks

I had my two starters on the bye this week and had to put in Dez. 3 td's including one over 50 (double points) in a game I had already won Put me with 5pts of being in the lead for total points this year although I still barely have a winning record. I ended up losing by 2 points but im 6-1 and still #1 in my league. if you need a silver lining your like the steelers (but of course we don't have a bye)
