    Welcome to the IHoP

Just found out I'll have a 3 hour 50 minute layover in Chicago between 5 and 9 at the ORD airport. Anything worth doing in that time frame?

Just curious, did they ask you about pay or did you bring it up?

That would be hoot. I am not good at frightening people. Well..... at least not in the way your customers want to be frightened. We learned something this year, people enjoy being startled much more than frightened. I think what happens is when you frighten some one they shut down and hide their eyes and don't see anything after that. When they are startled, their senses are heightened and looking at everything and wanting more, which makes their haunt experience much more entertaining for them. Matt you would fit right in and have a blast! You seriously just explained exactly what I was thinking yesterday but could find the words.

I would puke at 5 doubles of Disarrono. I hate the flavor.

that is a huge selling point for me. Maybe more so than the cost. I have a bigger size living room that seems to catch a glare no matter what. I can't keep my house pitch black all hours of the day. I think that plasma and LCD are about on ar for angle and brightness in todays TVs. What I think you will see is you can sacrifice a little detail and contrast from a plasma and still save a good chunk. If yoj don't have the option to view them in person and try viewing from the side first then maybe generically I would say you get a wider viewing angle on an LCD and thus go that direction, but to me LCD and plasma are becoming closer in usability. Plasma just costs a little extra and you can get really amazing contrast(especially in blacks) from them. Plasmas are the only TVs that have ever wow'ed me. I helped TMax21 (hasn't been on the H0P in forever) pick out his TV and the plasma won on looks and price. I went to my cousins a couple years later and I told him that I really liked his TV and it was the best I had seen since TMax's plasma and he then told me his was a plasma also. ON the other hand my roommate now how a super thin LED and Idon't like it at all. Everything looks like a hispanic soap opera.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't see the point. You could just have a 3mm jack connection on dash with a rocker switch for remote turn on going to some minidsps! I would definitely consider a mini dsp if I didn't already have the C701/H701 combo. I realize that an all digital signal isn't "necessary" for a vehicle environment, but the H701 accepts it so I figured might as well get the best you can. I don't want to use 3.5mm jack, ideally, because I don't want to use the DACs on my devices. What would be really cool is a devices that would let me connect via bluetooth, and some kind of direct line that could output to my H701. I would be willing to give up quality if it meant less wires. digital/3.5 you won't hear the difference. Not even close. Only bummer is the "extra" volume control Even when comparing the phones DACs and having a direct line out? At what point would a line driver be in order? Started messing around the truck to see what they tore up. A few twisting of wires and I had the C701 back on. Threw on my RCA to 3.5mm and had music from my phone. Definitely good enough to hold me over for now.

Your just making it complicated. Not saying this would be better, but I don't see why it wouldn't be awesome: Ditch the h701, and run a 3.5mm jack from tablet to 3.5->rca to minidsp, and your done. I will likely run 3.5mm to RCA on the H701 for the time being, but I never like 3.5mm jacks output. I always like to look for an awesome way to do something, especially if it streamlines things. I'll find it soon.

Looking at everything, it may be worth it to just get a single din with bluetooth and Aux capabilities so I can also get radio. I think it would be cool to make a cheaper setup that is more simple, but it adds a lot of complications.

That could work if I could get it to work in a vehicle.

I wonder if there are any Android tablets that can get digital line out. I know the ipad can do it no problem, but screw apple.

Now it's time to start figuring out what my new "headunit" will be in the truck. Luckily my wiring wasn't completely destroyed, but I am considering going to a tablet or something for my head unit now so it can be easily removed.

    Welcome to the IHoP

Had a car audio enthusiast nightmare come true last night. Someone broke the window on my truck and stole my head unit. Thankfully they didn't take the c701 the processor, amps, subs etc. I think they got spooked before they had enough time.

    Welcome to the IHoP

The job I am applied for is just "Mechanical Engineer" and the first round of interview didn't seem to lean me one way or another. I told them I am interested in product development, particularly working with engines.

Looks like I'll be flying up to big ole Moline,IL for a job interview with John Deere! Its crazy because I thought my interview sucked! Celebrated by buying a 256gb Samsung 830 with my saved up change and rewards points. Also threw in an adapter to make my old hard drive an external.

I almost got to drive a manual transmission one back when I was 17. Too bad that I wasn't experienced enough with a stick shift to feel comfortable ripping around in it.

He goes on to say that the oil would be put in reserves and not used and that demand is still increasing so price would increase. It is true that demand would increase, but he's still dumb as shit... I tried to let him know in a nice way.

No extra parts means you re-built it wrong. J I did remove the PCI Express slot (I think that is what it is called)) to put in the wireless antennas you see on the right. The original antennas are in the screen so I wanted to make sure I still was able to get reception.

Thanks! My roommies setup is awesome for the TV. He built a PC, has 4 TB's of media, and uses a Logitech keybord that doesn't need a line of sight to the computer. So the computer is hidden in a corner and he uses XBMC to stream all the media. It is fabulous in 1080. He also set up a Plex Server and now I can stream his content to my phone via the Plex app.
