The bolt that goes through the ring, does it bolt the ring to bare metal? The ring ABSOLUTELY HAS TO HAVE BARE METAL TO METAL CONTACT /caps lock off You can also use your dvm to check voltage at your amp and to check if your ground lication is good. im like 98% positive its a legit ground -

if everything is done right and you have the enough power, there will be some boom. and when you get the multimeter, put it in your glove box and leave it there, its what i do and say if your car wont start, you can check the battery, see if the alt is charging, etc. Its good for car audio but much more too. thats just it tho, i dont think i have enough power. i need someone to look at my car, there are so many things that a trained eye would look at and say thats your problem but i dont kno enough about it to kno take some pictures, upload them to photobucket, and post them here. i mean no offense or anything but what can you see? forget that, what specifically do you want pictures of? -

if i back it down the subs go down? then i'll really have no base, i guess thats where the bigger comes in? it sounds like i either need to take it to an audio shop and let them go at it or i'd really like to meet an audio guy like yourself that lives around here that could teach me -

im sorry im a total newb, what do you mean by major voltage drop? the problem im having is, when i crank it up to where its a nice hum the amp lasts about 10-20 minutes and it overheats/ goes into "protection" the guy at the audio shop said i need a bigger amp -

alright lets see if i can answer all of these, 1. these are the subs..... http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/index.php/product-information/icon.html 2. i just had a ported box made yesterday and he said they were wired for .5 ohms, but im not exactly sure how he rewired them. Truthfullly i wanna say it was the same dam way lmao. -
hey guys, i need help making the design for a optimal sealed box for my 2 12's. http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/index.php/product-information/icon.html\ the problem i have is i have a rather small vehicle and the space the box has to sit in is 33" wide and 18" high but to get it in the tallest it can be is 16" if anyone could build me a diagram or point me in the right direction it would be a HUGE help. thanks in advance, zack

SSA lists 4cf. but I'd think you could be ok with as little as 3cf. I didn't know you had these installed already. do you have a pic? How does 22" deep sound? 16x33x22. I haven't quite got the details down yet, but it should end up close to 4cf. Ok, I've got a final design. 15x33x22. net vol = 3.5 cf. 3.5x14.5 slot port. Port and subs facing back. you should get about 6db more out of this box at 40hz. (than your sealed box) That is like adding 2 more subs! Duane The port is only 14.5 inches long? Could be wrong, but I believe 14.5 is the height. Not if the height is 15", that would make the port height 13.5". I think I see what he did, the 14.5 is the second port length after the turn. If that is the case the box is tuned pretty low, I'd go for a bit higher tuning, more port area, and a double baffle. You're right, I was looking at the post before that one when he said 16". Perhaps he accidentally hit 5 instead of 6? thanks for everything Duane, anything and everything you can give me will be a HUGE help. i've never built anything like this before but i have a contractor buddy that will help with the build
