The Q impressed me day by day. it drops low and loud but I would love to go lower. Its the box that limits the Q performance. I would build a new one for the Q.

Wasnt the Brahma Mk1 was rated at 1500w? Not too sure about coil size though. The Brahma was powered by the Ampman Revo 1500.1 I do had the chance to listen to the Brahma mk1... in fact its 2 15" brahma compared to 1 15" Q. 3000w on the Brahma and mine would roughly goes 1000-1200w (I dont know actually may been lower or higher). I would admit those brahma sounds good with lows and rather weak on the high. the Q has better high compared to the brahma but I have not tested the lows (going to built a new box @30hz for that purpose). I would tell him to wait until I build my new box and hear the lows for yourself. I do agree that XBL tends to sound dry and the Q was rather in the middle... that will be confirmed when the new box is done.

I'll go with SSD on this one

Scott Any chance you happen to know the Brahma Mk1 against the Q? I had been harassed by Brahma user saying the Q SQ is nothing and wanna prove him totally wrong. I'm asking this because you have been playing with the XBL^2 for so long and you might be familiar with both sub. Let just say Brahma with 1500w and Q with 1000w as it supposed to be and in an optimum enclosure.

I like beef. But I would stick with my Q cause I'm dead broke. BTW just wondering whether AA will ship their sub outside of US cause the last time I asked they dont.
-
I deffinitely wanna hear review from you. I think someone ran his Q sealed and with 600w and won SQ comps.
-
Someone won the SQ comp with a 12Q and 600w on them but I forgot who and what comp was it. May dig out at Fi forum for that.

loud but safely is good.... set gains to point of clipping. Previously I set gains by ear and subsonic by test tones.
-
Yes it does. Read the 2nd last thread http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread....mp;pagenumber=2 The patent is own by Dan and David not Adire.

Errrmmm ... Arsenal still using the XBL^2 or any other driver using that?? IIRC only CSS sub and mids are using them now.
-
Woot... a full 3 Db by opening your window??

Meade has 8 Btl on one amp. Little hint... its made by RF
-
Why not consider the q???
-
With 4 15 its safe to say low 150 will be reachable. But need more info like box size, tuning, car.. etc.
-
Errmmm.... any idea with the Havoc vs. BL??

Great subs that never should have been discontinued....

I would go with 4 Qs ported to 32hz. With one is already rocking my world, 4 will rock my balls.

No.... makes em the Square BL. Round Solos are so 80's

errmm fuses didnt blow?

I realised that on your link that you put xmax of 18.2mm instead of 21mm and displacement of 0.71 instead of 0.15 cu^3 per sub which is 30 cu^3 for 2. as for your current dimension of 38 X 16.25 X 22 maybe you can go with port of 5 wide X 14.75 tall X 28.5 lenght with port area of 75.75 and box volume of 5.47 cu^3. Someone can confirm as I always get different measurement with other programs.

In an extended cab truck, tones, and I got 2nd place in my class, ha. Bassracing? Maybe another BXi2006 will score higher. Any idea the setup of the winner?
-
i had my q15 on a port of 5.25 X 16.5 ... quite big... and I like it.
-
errrmmm 12-16 square inch / cu^3 I believe. Anything less will result in port noise. I had mine bigger than the recommended one with no problem at it. Btw you might wanna do a bigger box to increase efficientcy of your sub.

Its going to be Fi XXX and Scott has keeping it a secret project. LOL or was it Fi XX??

I dont think the number of port matters to number of subs. Its the port area that counts. Unless you want to build a seperate chamber for it.
