Guys was thinking of installing a dual alternator for my new project. My questions are: i. My current stock alternator is rated at 60 amps. If I were to upgrade to a bigger alternator, would there be a risk of frying the electrical with a higher current alternator? Or can I just replace it without upgrading my battery to bigger ones? ii. If I were to install 2 alternator, what do I have to do? Can I just wired 2 alternators together or do I have to add external regulators or relay? Since its very hard to find bigger size of alternator in my place, I was planning to install dual 90 or 100 amps to my car and also upgrade the big 3. Anyone has more info in upgrading alternators?

Thanks Scott I had no doubts in you but my local courier services can be an ass sometimes. Previously I had waited for more than 2 months for an amp in which 2 weeks was sitting in the local post office because the sender didnt state the full address. Btw I will email you on the last piece of the payment details.

If your sub dustcap is too hot then reduce your volume. I had my q15 with playing some heavy bass songs for 10-15 mins and I could smell the coil and the cone is hot. Amp is tune with O scope. I think its the low voltage and high current thinggy. i do agree with the bass boost thing but gain up to 80% is too much.

Never experience with L7 but compared to the Brahma mk1 and the Q is definitely louder. Being said that the brahma is a SQ sub. Installed the 2 Q15 with 2 revo amp in my car for the show and it gets loud, shut some car up and triggered some alarms. As far as SQ is very subjective but I like the lows of the Q. I had to wait for 2 weeks for them to fully break in.

I Live in the far east.... Malaysia to be exact. Over here its very hot and humid and A/C is very important for me. The stock alternator was mounted below the engine so I might have a peek and see an extra space for 2nd alternator which I think its possible to do so. I just want to read more on dual alternator installation and what I should do as the last thing I need is fire in the car.

Its because my car is so rare that no one ever heard about it. Its a Perodua Kembara which is a clone of Daihatsu Terios or Toyota Cami. Its a mini SUV. Also a single 90 amps alternator is kinna cheap here and I plan to get 2 of it.

Nah that was a 2 days result of work. The box was meant for the brahma laying around the house. Its kinna small for the Q. Definitely had my eye for a wall setup. Anyone knows where can I find more info for walls??? Another thing is, anyone had ever tried Q on walls???

I entered the first carshow in Labuan Malaysia with 2 15Q powered with 2 Revo 1500.1 amp. It was supposed to be a car audio show (that was what I have been told) where lots of insallter and shops joined to show their gear. Nope. Its not SPL comps or near to that. Its was a auto show with trick installs that score marks.Not even SQ comps either. But I didnt understand why they mentioned car audio in the first place. I was there to prove my point and also put theory into practice. But with lack of time, I couldnt get the wall set up ready. Its will be fun to build one as I never though in the past of doing it.

We manage to shut some car out and trigger several car alarms... but that was intentional. I had difficulties breathing and blurry vision but no hair trick yet. The box (actually an old box) was tuned to 35hz. I was planning to build a wall setup with 2 15's tuned to 30hz but because of time constrains I settle for an old box and crappy amp rack. I didnt won that thing (if that matters) as I dont have flashy install or fiberglass. All were stock except for wiring and audio system. Next year expect me with a wall setup and kicking some cars ass. thanks Wynold

Just as topic said. I plan to upgrade my alternator. Currently my alternator is rated at 60 amps (I know...) and plan to upgrade maybe twice the size (minimum of 100 amps) for daily. I dont need high power alternator as I am not competing... well maybe 1 or 2 comps doesnt hurt. My question is, is there a risk of upgrading to a bigger alternator??? Do i just swap it, make a bracket for the new alternator? Or do I really need to install 2nd battery for that. Reason being is that I was told by the shop that if you upgrade to a big alternator.. it will fried all your electrical components in your car as its capable to put out more current than the stock alternator. I understand about alternator has an internal regulator and it only put out what is needed. But is there is other risk that I was not aware of?? The last thing I need is catching fire in my car. thanks Wynold

Go with the Q but I doubt you will get 1258w rms out of that amp unless your voltage remains the same.
