Just Joined a Gym and need Some Advice.

Keep it up! Good job. You can make pushups easier by raising the top of your body. leaning up against a wall, (wall push up) or putting your hands on a chair. I don't know that these can be helpful, I'm just throwing it out there.

    Swaggering Recklessly

Welcome, "Ohm" is a measure of resistance. Just Google it. I second something bigger than a 8" sub. Unless you just can't fit anything else.
  3. For his front stage? And the OP stated he wanted a four channel amp. As a side note, I'd like to know how they can get 1400 watts with a 100 amp fuse. 100% efficient amp?
  4. The Sundown amp is one I'd like to try out. You could save some money and get this: http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=269-190

    Death of a dcon

Sorry to hear about your job. How about a Aura Sound 2300. They do 450+ bridged for only $99.

    uber budget speaker find

I heard they hired the designer of the old school zed amps for the Aura amps. not sure if they are as good but they are similar. they are rated at 13.8 volts 20-20000hz all channels driven. the owners manual states that the 2300 will do 540 watts bridged at 14.4volts, 1000 hz. This is closer to how most amps are rated.

    Have you found anything yet?

    infrasonic

You need to model the subs, don't tune to a certain frequency with out knowing what is going on. You will need a subsonic filter. Some movies go down to single digits.

    PURE SPL Box.

I'd think a removable port would be in order. That way you only have to replace the port to change tuning. Not having to move a huge box would help out - at least on your back

Subwoofer gives no reading on DMM

Sounds like its time to buy a real sub! LOL. Sorry, I don't know what to tell you other than to touch to leads of the dmm together. That should give you a reading - to make sure that it is working.

    center console sub.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has made or heard a sub placed between the front seats. I have a venture mini van. I can have about 1cf of space to work with (id). If you have done this or heard a setup like this please let me know what you thought. Thanks, Duane

    Installing Component Set

+1 though I think its in the dash not the door. I'd also put the mids as close to them as I could, in the front doors most likely.

    AA tweets.....

    AA used seas tweeters.

    im stuck and need help!

    What doesn't fit?
  16. Please don't get caught up in matching up rms ratings. Your tweeter will never see close to its rms rating. You need something like 10x the power to the midbase to equal the spl of the tweet. (I didn't do any math here, this is just to give you the idea.) Duane

    Dream Room

Buy the tritrix kit from parts express. Build it to spec. Use the TL box design. Total cost is 120 plus the box. Then try to find something that sounds as good for under a grand... I don't think you will. (if you want rap type bass you will need a sub. I bought these to use as rear channels. But they replaced my infinity rs4's up front. (rs4- $1000, ribbon tweeter, dome mid, two 8" woofers.) Duane

At 3000 for a set they are in a different price bracket! Those screens ARE the tweeters.

    Need a box designed.

Don't use MDF to start! Plywood is much more water resistant. You must get the good stuff though. It's about $50 a sheet. Use a water proof glue. And then cover it in something waterproof, not carpet. Poly or truck bed liner come to mind.
  20. Sounds like he has the 6.5"s installed.

    6th and 4th order helppp.

Birch wood is ply wood. But you can't get the cheap stuff. It is about $50 a sheet. I might be convinced to do a 6th order design... If you are serious about building it. Duane
  22. I just read a post over on techtalk. Where that tweeter has higher levels of odd order distortion- he is going to buy a different tweet! Two other things that were stated in that post are that zaph audio found the same thing, and that the aluminum version doesn't have this problem. Fwiw, Duane

    8" SQ Subwoofer

I agree with the 8" drivers being pointless. I looked at the Dayton RS subs. The 8 is not the same as the rest. I'd look at the 10" HO model. Here's a link; http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=295-462 Duane

    8" SQ Subwoofer

I'm not a tang band fan. I have a 740c 8" sub, it just can't get loud enough. (sounds fine parked, but when you turn it up when driving it pukes.) For SQ it is hard to beat the Dayton RF series. They use 3 shorting rings to lower distortion, and are very well built. They deserve a look, maybe two! Shipping is free, and you don't have to wait! Just trying to make your choice harder, Duane
