Loud is pretty basic, a bunch of speakers + power = loud. I think being able to make your install look clean is one of the more challenging and enjoyable things about car audio. Any one can screw in an amp and plug in some wires. BTW nice flex.
-
I'm very curious as well lol. I just need to come about some money now!
-
Would love to see a graph and T/S as well. Might give these a try to see how they compare to my X69s.

Hair tricks and IB = sex. I doubt it will be that intense, I will be getting a Kicker IX1000.1 to run the subs though. Eventually I will upgrade to the newer AE subwoofers that replaced the IB15s, they are just too pricey for now.
-
Ever get it on a meter? And how much power did you run? Your cone area isn't too much greater.
-
Wow that is amazing work man. A little further than I want to go with this car lol. I think most of it is sealed off pretty good. Going to deaden the rear deck and look for any holes. Other than that I think it is sealed up pretty good.
-
Yes, they have a fs of 18hz
-
IB mainly for trunk space, I use my trunk to the fullest almost every weekend. Also for the fact that I have never heard or done an IB set up before so I wanted to try something new. And also for something to blend in well with my front stage. The front stage may have tons of potential for loudness, but it has more potential to sound amazing =)

I am no expert, but I know enough to know that just because a subwoofer looks like another, they are no where near the same thing. Anyways I have never owned DD, doubt I ever will. Expensive subs are over rated. Getting loud with cheap subs is more impressive, anyone can buy 2 bad ass 18s and 4kw and be loud as shit.
-
Only have one the subs right now, money is tight so waiting on the other. Pretty much done, just need to carpet it but I will have someone do that for me I think.
-
Thank you! I may end up taking to a buddy to carpet it though. Anyways, secured it on the top and bottom, that thing is SOLID, might help the strength of the car lol. Just have to trim down the stock beauty panel for the trunk floor and carpet the baffle and it is all finished. Picked up some Dynamat on clearance at best buy, door kit is way more than enough, I'll get some of the trunk done as well.

Hard part is all done. Now I remember why I almost paid someone to do this lol. Saw dust is the worst thing ever. And parking outside the garage for one day makes my car look like I haven't touched it in months. Now I need to secure the baffle along the top and bottom, pick up some deadner and seal off the holes and then carpet. The subwoofer that will be going in... Holes cut and almost ready to go!

With one of the Kicker IX amps, no MS8, and passive crossovers, I had the car for tailgating at a USF game. Friends left for the game early while we still were tailgating, said they could hear the car at least 200 yards away clearly. Doors and trunk open of course. They said they would walk next to cars playing music and mine would fade out and then keep walking past that car and hear mine again lol. Don't know how true that is though, they could of been exaggerating because that seems far lol. Also to the guy who asked about the mids.. I probably wouldn't worry about the same issue I have unless you really put a beating on them. I have ~250w per speaker running active 80hz@18dB. Way more than they need lol. Here's what I got done today. I just need to make a second baffle and cutout the holes and the hard part is done!

It sounds awesome. The mids get pretty loud, but overall I am disappointing in the build quality of them so far. I am waiting on my 3rd set to come back in the mail to me, first two had the coils separate from the cone. I run a MS8 and it cuts the horns down ALOT. I didn't really realize this until my 2nd set of mids went, the horns don't even get loud lol (125watts on tap per side too). The system is absolutely disgusting loud with the MS8 processing turned off.
-
The horns have been a pain in my ass to get in correctly with imaging to flow correctly. I ended up removing the parking brake and relocating the hood release for the drivers side, and cutting into the passenger side kick panel. I haven't taken pictures of the passenger side yet since I have re-done it.
-
I am stumped on this and it may just be something simple. Alright I am running an MS8 to (2) kicker IX 500.4s. Each amp is bridged for the front stage (one amp for horns, the other for mids). For some reason only the right side gets signal. I can mess around and get both sides to play by mixing the RCAs around. I am using RCA splitters on each channel from the MS8 to go into all the RCA inputs on the amplifiers. I'm lost

Yea, forgot about that. The interior changed in 96, actual door I would imagine is the same.
-
May want to consider fiber glassing a sealed enclosure for the doors where the bottom pocket is. The doors are a pain to deaden and there is like a 10x8" square where you would put the mids. It can frustrating getting it to fit right, and then the clips on the doors break off with ease especially after time. I had a tough time get mid-bass I was satisfied with until I did pods.

Wouldn't tuning lower lead to a better hair trick?
-
Nice, I used to have a 97.... tore that thing apart with all the systems I had in it lol. If you need any help with it let me know, I know those cars inside and out. Gotta love flex =)

Alright I am trying to get my Compustar to work in my 09 Challenger. I have everything working but the remote start. I am using an XpressKit Chall interface, which made pretty much everything cake until now. I still need to hook up 2 starter wires, accessory and ignition. The CHALL interface offers a (+) start wire, but because the alarm has a starter kill I need to split it on both sides, which I can't do with this. It also offers a (-) while running which is no good for the acc. And a (+ ignition). I have tried hooking up what I can, but no luck. If someone can help me it would be greatly appreciated... maybe one of you guys got a inside line to DEI to help me =).

Haven't been following much lately but anytime when these will be released? I need a pair of 15s that can work till in a lil over 4 cubes sealed =)
-
Shows what I know lol... pricing? Where to order?
-
Me too lol... The INA-W900 I guess is on backorder so I think I am going to have to save a little more and go with the z110bt. I need to pick up RCAs, techflex, heatshrink and some sound deadner as well. That will prob be the next update.

Been a while but I am finally back at it... the DIY'er in me got the best of me once again. This is the current system: Stock Head Unit Front Stage: JL C5s Front Stage Amplifier: Sundown 100.2 Rear Stage: Stock. Has been about a year and sounds awesome to me, but we can always get better (plus I miss subs). It will be a while before it is all finished but this is what I am planning for the new set up. HU: Alpine W505 Processing: Alpine H701 Active Front Stage: Cd1 Pro Minis for the tweeters and X69s for the midbass Rear Stage: JL C5s Substage: (2) FI Q 15s sealed Amps: (2) 1.000 Alpine PDXs, 4.150 Alpine PDX, 4.100 Alpine PDX. Pics coming up...
