4 15" death penalties and 4 sundown 3000Ds
brent338 replied to pioneerpimp's topic in Incriminator Audio
wow.... thats sick. -
that IA 40.1 is damn nice. with 12 cubes total... after port disp, and such I think two 15"s should fit nicely. take your pic., Fi BTL, ICON, DP, HAVOC...ect. I dumped about the same, or a little more $ into mine, and ended going with two TC Sounds 3000, 15"s... and love em, more SQ speaker, but get damn loud and sound amazing doing it. If you find the need to see em in action, check out the build logs... thats without a second battery mind you. they can still be had if you really want, let me know...

well that RF 2000 is a great amp, and with the proper elec. system, should do over 2500rms. I think the Q's could take it, but you would probably be better of with a pair of ICON's or HAVOC's. both will get loud and sound good. thank also about enclosure design, as that will be as big a factor on sound as anything else.

orion 2500D... strain?... lol. well the HC 2400 is in now, voltage stays up much better. I need to carry my camera in the car at all times to get reactions when demoing, I haven't demo'd much, maybe 20 people or so, but have had at least 3 jumpers, and most others have to plug their ears... now I just need a comp to go to...

Runing the Knukoncept 1/0 tool of mass destruction joe, playing with the subs more goodies.... getting started looking good, side plate last thing. time for electrical upgrades....LoadBoss 230A Old and busted vs. new hotness I gotta fit that in there...? view from below and above finishing up on box #1, final sanding.... almost done... sand up the putty spots. good enough for me.... time to wire them up... getting thirsty. I'll post some more "finished" pics in a bit.

my orion 2500d pops the 300A breaker thats on it, once and a while... at full tilt for a few minutes... well, showing off I mean. thinking about running dual 200A breakers for mine...., would for sure on a 3000d SD.
-
had today off, ran up to the shop... and did a 147.2. voltage drop was to about 11.5 or so, with just the optima of front, popped the 300A breaker. Kinetik 2400 came in yesterday, I really need to find somewhere to fit the damn thing in...
-
mo vids... pop my trunk and everybody gets to running... notice, seatbelt slap.
-
there was a spot big enough to fit two runs of 1/0 high on the firewall straight back from the battery location, so that was easy... BIGJON, I have a Kinetik 2400 sitting here now, just need the time, and find somewhere to fit it... thought if could go along side of the box, but its pretty tight there... I also tried just throwing it up front in the factory location and its too big there as well.... I might just throw it on the floor behind the driver seat if nothing else... but it did hit 147.2, with just the lowly yellow top....

151... damn nice score...

ok. how many, what amps? I hope your gonna repaint the car... lookin good!
-
taking it before my 5 mile runs last summer seemed to help boost energy, as well as decrease recovery time. but who knows, maybe just all in my head...
-
double 3/4" the speaker mounting side, 2x4's for bracing, seems to be popular. threaded rods work as well....
-
the box is to 40Hz...or so. TTB horn loaded design its in the build log page. jeep cherokee. I'm not sure what kinda mic, it was in a backpack sorta thing, I asked him what kind it was he didn't know. it was at the dash. it was not a test tone, just a random bass track that seemed to do ok. I bet a tone swept will help a little bit. so would the kinetik, just need to find room 4 it somewhere. not much left.

in the pic. 2, TC sounds 3000, 15" Orion 2500d

No sound ordinance in my town...and close to/if not; 150db @ my finger tips... , have a god day officer....lol. does not mean it sounds bad though. buddy @ the local shop, said how he is more clean sq. style. I go yeah, but mine is loud and clean... he replies; f*ck yeah it is! and that was only one sub... two now...lol. street-beater 4 life! cant we all just get along....?
-
-$350 single sub - 5 cubes 15"... A.A. Havoc, SSA ICON, Fi BL, in a horn loaded enclosure designed by Pete @ Hexibase.com havocs go low, get loud and sound good. so do the Icon's. the BL's might handle a little more power, more spl oriented mind you, but still a good sounding sub. I don't think you would be disappointed with any of the above subs. but, in the end.... its all about the box, and I love mine from Pete.

Grippin Grain, Rick Ross. Kinetik 2400 should be here tom. new vids after thats in, thurs, maybe. I could be able walk around a bit without having to throtle up to keep the volts up. show the car falling apart...

the older silver ones are very similar to the new 5000d's. I have heard the newer ones testing a half a db higher. but I'll stick with my old crome one, it pounds, I could not imagine having two, that was my original goal as well. they have dual 4 ga. power supplies, I didn't find them much of a problem. If you really dont like them, save up and get a sundown 3000d, its a beast. Or you could run the orion, save up and swap out later to the sundown... the orion should get you 400-500$ easily.

was thinking about getting one in a little while. I dont want to spend too much, but want something reliable. how long would it take to get familiar with one? any suggestions?
-
no, I said I use liquid nails, silicon caulking to seal the edges. as far as sealing the box, as in sides... I see no reason. but thats just me, I'm no master builder... but it works 4 me.
-
well you dont have to sand if you dont want to. yeah you can pick up a can of paint/roll on bed-liner and give your box a real custom look. I'm thinking about that myself, but have not felt to urge to do so yet. wood looks good to me, and after they hear my chit, doesnt matter what it looks like...
-
I used; 2" wood screws. Titebond wood glue liquid nails and some 3" screws for the 2x fronts. wood putty for counter sinks. be liberal with wood glue, get dirty and use your fingers to press it in along edges and such. wipe off excess. go over edges with liquid nails for that extra piece of mind. router to edges and corners if you want, then sand...done, get to beating...
