    Your db Numbers

need new amp. quick question.... how would it hold up @ .7 ohms? with, 230A alt, Yellow top under hood, Kinetik 2400 in back, 1/0 under hood & back, second run there but not hooked up, It's either .7 or 2.8, two Quad .7 coil subs... TC-3000. I could do two 1500's @ 1.4 ohm each I guess... but I rather like the idea of one big amp... Ideas?

o.k. did some power test research. getting kinda ancy now... A SaZ3000 @ 1.4 ohm, 10.75 volts; gets 3200 ish watts. @ .7 ohm, 14.5 volts; gets 5200 watts, while going into protect. So I'm I right that guessing 4100 watts on a 12 volt system, @ .7 ohms to be an accurate estimate? any tests done at that voltage & ohms?

I really know that, just typing too fast... A very long/stressful day. but 1 lesson learned also... no Orion 2500d @ .7 ohm.... lol.

wow nice score man.... gonna try to get a hold of a SAZ3000 myself soon.

yeah, I just talked with him... might go that route. just wanted to make sure the amp could take it daily... BUT IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO WIRE IT LIKE THAT!!! Would be a 10x better choice to do 2 1500Ds strapped. Old TC Sounds site... http://web.archive.org/web/20070224172836/....com/tc3000.htm can be wired... 1 sub; .35, 1.4, 5.6 ohm 2 subs; .7, 2.8 I know this for a fact, cuz we just put a meter on each sub, wired to the 1.4 diagram...and they read 1.4 ohm. add them series and we got .7 ohm, in parallel netted 2.8. I just want to know if a SAZ3000 can do .7 daily with my electrical without having problems... yeah I could/would do two 1500's if I need, but I dont.

  9. err dbr.com doesn't even want to touch it... scrap it... time to save for a Sundown SAZ-3000... you guys think it could take .7 ohm, with 230A alt, yellow top & Kinetik 2400...? or should I go 2.8 with it as well...?
  10. well, he said its pretty bad.... several hours to replace parts, and then it still might not even work. parts fried all the way down the board. soo I dont know what to do now... DBR.com? or should I say f-it, and start looking for new amp.
  11. yeah gonna take it in tomorrow... I have a volt meter on the dash, but it is very inconsistant on deciding when it feels like working or not... (stinger) I followed the sub wiring guide from the older TC sounds site, quad coils can give you many options... I had to choose between .7 ohm or 2.8 ohm, and being an spl/nut/rookie, I went .7... guess I should rewire the subs, or get a new volt meter... when working...it rarely dropped below 12 volts when being pushed... should I stay @ .7? I have a pretty upgraded electrical system... and with imp rise it should be closer to 1 ohm right? idl much about that stuff... or go 2.8, and play it safe... I would lose a good bit of power though right?
  12. well its the amp... popped a couple small resistors right next to the side rail. guess I ran it too low...
  13. no distortion at all... kinetik metered @ 12.5 volts or better disconnected. measured at the inputs on the amp with car running, got 13+V I'm lost... pull the amp cover and take a look I guess.
  14. amp is not shutting off... coils on sub should be fine, no blown sounds... besides, there build to handle 2500 rms each anyway... It really seems like the 2nd battery is dead, I mean it just lost a lot of punch. like 1/2. which would make sense cuz that battery give it 2600 more cranking amps, than just the yellow top thats under the hood, @ 750 CCA or so. Amps can only make soo much power that they have right? Its either that, or a blown rail on the amp... being that the orion 2500d is a dual rail amp... and thats how I got it, with a blown rail...but it doesnt act like it did then...
  15. nothing...? well I go get the bat tested soon and see if its bad...start there.
  16. what kind of distro are u running? im looking for a good one that will fit my purpose using the konfused ground distro I believe... but I'm probably gonna ditch my breakers soon, and go with some of their fussed distro's in the near future. I really don't care much for the breakers...

    The wall build

looking good man, kinda makes me wish I had the room for two RL-P 18"s... I'm curious, why you went with infinity amps? and of course...VIDS!!!!!

    Could use some help

run that amp lower, if you have the electrical to back it... I'd go 1 ohm, jbl's are crown made and beefy. the box, bigger is better... go to rockford fosgate webpage, and they have a box building program. after first researching your subs ideal cube space, and tunning freq. or better yet before you do that, get your stuff tested, see what freq. you get the best score at, then tune the box to that, or half way between that and whatever the manf. recommends...
  19. Im running knuconceptz... 1/0 kollosus... 4 ga. kollosus, from distro., orion 2500d has dual 4 ga. power supplies... dual 4 ga. grounds as well. you gotta love the fact that all their stuff is actually one step up from what you pay for. the 1/0 measures 2/0, the 4 ga., is really 3 ga... ect. some connectors and distros from them as well... overall, very good quality stuff imo, good price, fast shipping... I wont go anywhere else.

    wsup with the BL

a Q with BP could handle 1500, with care. more like 1250. A BL would do it better, it wont be as musical as a Q, but it will handle that power better. just FYI, a A.A. Havoc, would bask in that power, and sound great.... and they are made by Fi too. I would do a Havoc, over a BL all day long...

    car alarm?

compustar 2-way. motion sensor. 2nd horn with spare internal battery... cutting wires wont help. remote start. very happy with it so far... no one has tried to mess with my car yet.

    hmmmm ..... beefy.

    amp for 15" bl

get the most amp you can afford... kicker 2500, Orion 2500.... if not then a 1200/1500D or such. the more power you have the better! If you can afford a sundown....get it! they are the best, no questions asked. I would stay away from hifonics, soundstream aint much better....
  25. brent338

    12 cubes!

I would stick with two 15"s. with a IA 40.1, do... 2-15" -Death Penalty's -ICON's - A.A. HAVOC's any of those, with that, or a similar amp... would be more than you need or can handle for a street beater... trust me. My TC-3000's probably wont get as loud as those mentioned above, and not too many can handle it at full tilt for much more than a minute... the DP's might cost a bit more, but are damn nice man... for the same price you can get some TC-3000's. Or just go and flip a coin over the ICONs or HAVOCs, for the $ they CANNOT BE BEAT imo. and for $50, have pete kulick @ Hexibase.com blueprint a horn loaded enclosure.
