Amp for SA-8?
jFreezy replied to jFreezy's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I was always a guy who uses only monoblocks for subs, totally forgot about sundowns other amps! This looks like the right fit, 400rms at 4ohms can't get any better than that! And $250, reasonable.. -

Oh and budget I want no more than $200? Sounds reasonable -
Oh ok lol. Yeah Maybe not a good idea. But now I can show my cousin this thread so he knows I'm not bullshitinnn lol. Thanks everyone

Lol it's not worth it right? Just something I was thinking about.. But I don't think that's gonna stop my cousin lol.

I guess the question is would there be a power shortage or would something bad happen with the dc/ac converter?
-
I would go for the Rockford Fosgate components. Especially since you already know what they sound like and that you like it. sonicelectronix.com has a bunch of speaker to look at. Check em out bro! Good luck with the set up hope everything goes your way man.

Purchased them and attempted to install (it got dark) front driver door speaker in but the door panel wouldn't fit in right so I just locked everything up, tomorrow is another day. Speakers look wayyy better than the previous factory speakers.

Sup guys just sittin here thinkin about what speaker setup I'll have in my sentra. Nothing too much or fancy but better than stock and budget-minded. It'll be coaxials and I've researched for some good budget speakers like pioneer kenwood massive audio planet audio etc. The other day I was at walmart and I checked out what they have for sale and I saw pioneers! 6"1/2 pioneer TS-g1643R's 180w max These were actually really nice looking (I asked to look at them) But the fact that it's from walmart sort of prevented me from buying.. I mean pioneer is pioneer right? Where it's sold doesn't really affect it's quality.. But out of curiosity would you have bought them and powered them with the right amp? And has anyone bought car audio from walmart and is it reliable? Just curious. Feel free to voice your opinions.

Great to hear! Thanks

That's what I was thinking. Thanks man. It is fairly priced and I think I'll buy them. I like pioneer so I'll go with then and hope for the best. It's just good to hear positive things about them before I purchase.

Is there a difference in sound?
jFreezy posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Hey ssa jfreezy here with another question. Is there a difference in sound between 1200rms and 1500rms or is it just spl? Wired to 1ohm will I hear a difference between the both with same amp settings? I'm choosing between a sundown audio sax 1200 or a saz 1500. I want to power two SA 10s or SA 12s at 1 ohm. Ported tuned about 33-34 -

Okay one more question. Lol sorry guys. But I have a friend that was tellin me that he wants to power his nightshade with 1500rms but it takes 2000rms and then his friend suggested 3000rms. Will there be any difference in sound there? Between the two powers? Well let's say his nightshade is 15" and in a ported box tuned 34hz and both amps would be 1 ohm -

By headroom you mean like prepared for future upgrades? Sorry lol Idk what that means.. My electrical can handle whatever I throw at it. But I just wanted to know to see if I can save money and buy the 1200 -
I'm the kind of guy to lift trucks up but seeing you lower it makes me want to now lol. I'm liking your style and wish you best of luck on this project. -fellow silverado owner

Oh alright. Well the box was custom built to be apart of a sound system in my pool room I just decided to put it in my car for bump to work. I'll get another box build but do you guys think 35-36hz is good? Ah, I just wanted to see if the watts would make a difference in sound. I wanna be pretty loud

I have a sa8 in a 1.0cubic ft Ported box around 33-34hz the sub is 400 rms and I have a planet audio Tq1601d monoblock amp. I want to run it at 2 ohm but thats pushing 800rms. Do you guys think the sub can handle that power? I mean, gains down and careful tuning on my headunit the sub shouldn't be in danger right? At 4 ohms the amp pushes 500rms.
