    Help me outfit the tahoe

So I am coming back over to the darkside after a short break. I am selling my BMW M3 and picking up an 02 Black Tahoe. Track days were fun, but I'm ready to cruise around and have a ridiculously loud system. I need your help on deciding what to buy though. I'm looking to go all out without completely breaking the bank so wherever I can get a good deal on something that would be ideal. I don't want to sacrifice quality to much though because I want to do this right the first time. This will be mainly used as a DD, but I would love to eventually get into the whole competition scene assuming I learn more about it since I know next to nothing right now. I'd ideally like to run 4k watts or more so let's base it around that number. mlstrass will be helping me with all of this so it will be in good hands, he just doesn't know it yet! So far what I have in mind is.. HU: Alpine IVA-D100 Subs: (2) 18BTLs or BLs Amp(Subs): Rockford T4000bd Speakers: Looking for something to keep up with the subs but sound great when I have the subs faded. Amp(Speakers): Open on this one, not really sure whats good or how many speakers I'll be running Deadener: Second Skin products using as much as I need Electrical: Not really sure what I'll need to keep this setup running so again I'm open to anything Enclosure: Open to whatever even a wall assuming mlstrass feels comfortable building one Reading over this list it looks like I will be emptying my bank account in the process, but hey to play you gotta pay right? Besides the audio system I'll be doing 5% tint all around, clearing the corners and adding HID's, and finally putting on black 24" wheels. I think that should suffice for now and will compliment the audio setup nicely. So please give me your opinions and help me build a beast!

    distortion

In the instructions it gave you a clip to ground it directly to the chassis but we just cut it off and hooked it to the wire ground that would normally go into a HU. I guess I'll throw in my friends HU and see if it works, it's been under thirty days so hopefully I can make it seem like it hasn't been used.

    distortion

Just a new cheap pioneer one that I bought from best buy while my Alpine IVA-D100 is being repaired. I bought it about a week ago so its almost brand new.

    distortion

I just recently bought new speakers and hooked them up to my 100.2. The first week everything went fine until about a day ago I get a random noises coming out of my speakers. With the sound completely down on the HU and even a different mode with no audio source selected I get this high pitched whine or sometimes clicking coming from my speakers. Once I hear it I shut it off immediately. I checked the ground, remote, and power wire and they are all hooked up and connected fine. All the speaker wire seems to be intact at the back by the amp and upfront by the actual speakers, but I haven't checked underneath the carpet yet. If I turn the volume up on the HU the music still comes through crisp and clear but the whine is still in the background being out powered. Any ideas what could be wrong before I start digging up my carpet to check for some sort of error somewhere in the wire?

    1500D lowing Fuses

Hooked up the 1500D today after it has been sitting for about 2 months and now it keeps blowing all the car's fuses. Putting it in a late 90's Tahoe which originally had a 1,000watt amp hooked up that ran without any problems. Now after hooking the 1500D we've already been through 2 fuses so far and are unsure on how to fix it. All help is appreciated and thanks in advance.

    Making another Fi purchase

I bought two 12 Fi Q subs about 4 months ago and I haven't had anything but good things to say about them. Everyone who gets a listen smiles instantly and asks me all about them. So the reason for me wanting new subs? None really, just getting a new car so I figure now would be the time to get the louder audio setup. I actually got into an accident not to long ago in my Lincoln LS and it seems to be totaled so I should be going to pickup my Audi S4 sometime this week. Anyhow, right now I have two Fi Q's in a sealed enclosure powered by a sundown 1500d. It gets pretty loud, but theres always room to get louder I haven't actually seen the trunk size of the S4 in person because I always forget to look, but from pictures it looks roomy. After looking online I found this, Luggage capacity: 13.67 cu. ft, which im going to assume is the trunk area. So with that said I'm in the market to buy something louder, but not completly break the bank as the S4 is already handling that job. I was thinking of getting two 15/18 BL depending on what I could fit in there powered by whatever amp(s) is reliable and gives them all they can take. I really dont know all that much about amps besides the fact that sundown makes a rock solid one. So I'm completly open to all suggestions. I want to keep some SQ, and if the opportunity ever arrises I may go to a comp but as of right now its just going to be for everyday driving. Right now I have two yellow tops and one 1500D power wise. Keeping the price for the subs/amp and a new alternator which im assuming I'll need would be ideal to keep under the 2k mark give or take a few hundred. Oh and when I do end up buying my new setup, I'll have the two Q's and the amp forsale if they go unused.
