I know, I was leaning towards a weak rear end, as found in the ls1 cars... things like that. I know the t56 is bullet proof, but was looking for little things I should plan on fixing as soon as I get the car.

I am awaiting my 1/0, already using 4 ga from amp to terminal, 8 ga from terminal to subs. Will be using 4 ga as well for strapping. I applaud his carpeting skills. I just went with black for my amp rack as matching would have been a pain.

at 100K they need a new optispark and waterpump because when the water pump goes it barfs coolant on the opti and kills it lol no big reliability problems, but they can be a huge pain in the ass to work on (see above) it's also a huge pain to drop the gas tanks in them I am not worried about difficulty maintaining. Was just making sure that if I bought one it wasn't going to die on me in a week. I have always wanted an ls1, but with school and all I think an lt1 would suit my finances better. Not to mention cheaper insurance etc... Head/Cam, headers, true dual exhaust, stainless brake lines, ebc pads etc... Nitto 555 fronts and 555r's for the rear are already on the list. As well as a new water pump and optispark, and a nice juicy h/o alt as well.

I officially reached 7-11 in posts ^

GM was nice enough to put the Alt right on top though, making for an easy swap, and we all know how many large body gm alts there are to be had. I know of the dash cracking and am not too worried about that.

it is a good idea to bring a notepad and keep track of what setting's net what score. A good bassrace song is 3-6 mafia's azz&tittiez starting at 12 seconds into the song, or even as late as 18seconds.

does anyone know of any major reliablity issues with the 96-97 lt1 camaro/ t/a's? Might as well ask since that is what I am looking at buying.

I am not too pleased with my econo'chit' box lately. 15 mpg from a 4banger just b/c I am missing a radiator fan (will be in on monday) just pisses me off.

They do 180's, j-turns etc... very well. And personally there aren't many fwd cars that can stick to the road like a neon (they did dominate the scca in the late 90's). But for get up and go. They suck ass. The standard variant is almost 3 seconds quicker than the automatic.
-
You have made me jealous. My car is awaiting the second 1500d, but my carpeting skills just aren't there yet. And do I see 4 ga. speaker wire? for the negatives... I will have to take a pic of my pair when it is together.

You have never driven a bone stock sohc neon before than. I can put the ebrake on, tires won't even chirp. 50 weight oil on the tires is about the only way to get them to break loose from a stop. the first gear on the car (only 3 gears) is retardedly long. (goes to 54 mph). If it is raining and you stop on the white line, you might just be able to get them going long enough to hit redline, have 2 cylinders shut off the car shift into second and roll along. IF it is raining, you are going up hill (turning onto) a road, you might, just might be able to keep the tires spinning just long enough to get them to smoke... AND IF YOU have been driving a neon for ~ 4 years, and have gone through 2 motors and 3 trannies at this point you can say you have had as much experience trying to get neons to do burnouts. Later on this year when I blow another auto tranny, I am just going to plop in the standard I have sitting in my garage, along with my new motor.

apparently tonight is my holdiday off, so I am welcoming myself back to the hop. And honestly unless you drive a dodge neon everyday, you should know how to spin the tires with an auto.

Due to the length of the soundwaves at the frequencies a subwoofer is reproducing, as long as they are in absolute phase they will be in relative phase in a car environment. In a large room like an auditorium there will actually be "boomy" and "dead" spots b/c the woofers are in and out of phase with each other.

come on aaron, let the cat out of the bag, to see if I am going to be running mach 5 spl subs for street A or not.

goodnight hop, I am off to work...

I just realized that I hate sealed boxes... Can't wait for my aero's to get here.... I can hear and feel my bass but not like before...
-
Ohh and on another side note. UPS and Fedex aren't perfect. I have had stuff arrive from TC sounds while the tracking number still says awaiting pick up.
-
All I have to say is be glad you are buying from Fi and not TC sounds or DD. Anything custom from them is generally 4 months minimum. You also have to take into consideration that the post you are referring to says approximate, not exact. But of course we don't all run companies to know what delays are like. I would rather wait a few extra days for a custom built sub than buying an off the shelf sub anyday. But alas, sometimes things do happen and needs occur.

Does Anyone Know what this sub is...

I don't think its tc built, but no guarantee's. I think I will buy it and send it to scott atwell and see what the mad scientist can do, if he doesn't want it than Thilo can play with it. -

I want to play with an icon tooo! Oh well, maybe later on this year after the season dies down and tuition is payed for.
-
hello fellow hoppers. Anyone have a clue about my sub question on page 10289 i believe.
-
it is a ten. I have no clue what sub it is, I was told that it was an sq sub, but looks more spl to me.

Dumb question, but what's going on in MD? I'm not much into SPL, but I might have to stop by to check out the fun and put faces to names. There is a dB drag competition on the 15th of July in Suitland Maryland. There is a post about it under the team ssa board.
