    Need some component advice

At the time I could get the D9's and the z6's for the same price. I liked the tweets of the d9 better, I wouldn't say that the d9 midbass is really anything special though. The z6 tweets were too bright for me. The Hertz space k8ls, which Ironically are the cheapest of the three in retail, have the largest midbass etc. Just sound the most natural, almost as if they aren't speakers at all. Just sound. The tweets are superb in the large body arrangement and are very detailed, not airy. But at the same time they are not overpowering.

Hertz > Diamond> Boston. I have heard and auditioned all three in my car. I would choose the space k8l's (even though its an 8" mid bass) over the other two any day.

I would say the d971.s sound better. But for that kind of money I would also look into Hertz space k6l components, or go the diy route.

    this suck's

I also heard that the new powermaster batteries are pretty beastly and they aren't tooo expensive. I just picked up a hc-2400. As I already have major voltage issues with 1500d's. I have a feeling that the 3000d's are a completely different beast to power.

I would check remote voltage as well.

    New owner, few questions/comments

Holy chit, I just modeled it and you are right. Definitely not the sub to run sealed. To the OP, if you really want to go sealed I'd consider selling the OEM 10 and looking at other options that will work as a drop in for your current box. A dual 2 ohm driver would allow you to use the SAE-1000D to its full potential as well. The mach 5 ten is really inexpensive enough just to pick up and compare. (I might pick two up and see how much they like ~4000 watts rms. And see if I get a gain (even though I will be replacing those subs a few times a comp)

I would be the one to have numbers to confirm this... As I am waiting for my aero-ports still. 2 TC sounds oem 10's, 1 saz1500d. 3.68 cubic feet ported to 42 hz. 49 hz tone= 140.5 legal on the new tl. 2 TC sounds Oem 10's, 1 saz1500d. 2.08 cubic feet sealed @ 49 hz. 130.8 legal on the new tl. (51hz is new peak @ 131.07) My sealed box is set up as a wall right now. I am waiting very patiently for my aero's so I can tune the box to 45hz

    Welcome to the IHoP

new jersey is awesome for that. 270 miles of highway, and now they have the full speed ezpass system, so you don't even have to slow down.

I have gotten close to that in a tdi jetta going to jersey, i think it was 59 mpg. *@ 95 mph the whole way... *

    Welcome to the IHoP

I am not too pleased with my econo'chit' box lately. 15 mpg from a 4banger just b/c I am missing a radiator fan (will be in on monday) just pisses me off. i got 47 in the jeep, on the highway would be scary to find out how much the dub gets I have gotten upwards of 44 in my last neon on the way out to Ohio. Cruise control @ 80 across the flat part of ny.

Mach 5 or not...subs and the decision

I am just baffled to the songs you guys call low bass. If i had to choose something for a 15 for ~400 dollars. I would be all over an Fi Q (probably even the 18) or the maw15 combo.

Couple of 1500D's in My Trunk

The subs aren't flush-mounted at this point. I am in need of a plunge router and a jasper circle jig. The idea behind doing double walls and triple front baffle is that I am going to use external bracing as needed. And minimal turbulence within the box. The aero-ports aren't installed in that box yet, I am waiting patiently for them to arrive.

    whats the difference

I was thinking more along the lines of knobs not being aligned, rca connects being tight/loose. Bad paint, stuff like that.

    Welcome to the IHoP

And she loves cars, huge chevy girl. I call dibs on her. I would definitely fight your for her... lol. I choose the weapon, and my choice is pistols. You lose. I'll go ahead and say that now. I would take you up on pistols over her... b/c I know if I die at least she knows that I tried, and that when I told her way back when we started dealing with this whole controlling ex thing that I would give my life for her. I am a man of my word.
