I am missing the point here. Going from one sub ported to two of the same subs sealed on the same amp should be quieter than your current setup. Are you currently only at 2 ohms and would get more out of the amp with the second sub?

As being someone with a trade school certificate for auto body, I'm curious to see if the Sonus is a product specifically designed for "car audio" applications, and which substrates it is effective on. I have used rage quite often and have not used any other "auto body" body filler that is more user friendly. I am intrigued and it will be something I look into the next time I do something that requires filler.

Sti's are stupid fast with a little investment. I'd avoid anything like pre-2005 for the boxers.

You guys definitely get more snow than we do. I'm too far from the Great Lakes for lake effect snow. I have never had a problem in the snow with my Patriot, Dodge Spirit, multiple neons (automatic and standard), gts, etc. Her element is probably the single worst car I have ever driven in the snow, and the tires weren't even bad (not snow, but all season and newer).

If I was driving a standard car, I have never used studded tires before. Her Element was atrocious in the snow/ice. We get a lot of ice here.

I totally agree. I'm stuck waiting for the title to the girlfriends old element, but the first thing it is getting is the snow tires I have, studded. She was always getting stuck last year, I even had to pull her out with my neon once.

Sounds like you are your way to a killer bass set up. Either option considered. The IA has the potential to be louder, but either will be plenty potent enough.

What amps are you looking at? Are you doing the install or paying for it etc? Either way, I'd definitely look at getting a high output alternator, a decent battery. A head unit that you love and atleast a decent set of mids highs and amp them. Having subs is awesome, but pointless if you can't hear the rest of the music.

To answer this question impartially, let me start by saying that both companies are reputable and put out amazing product. My best advice would be to set a budget that you want to spend, and see which fits the bill best. Remember that the sub woofers are probably the least important part of anyone's daily set up in terms of overall sound. (when talking about reputable sub woofers with solid credentials.) Determine how much amp you have, and what are your goals. Are you trying to get as loud as you can with the least money spent, or are you more concerned with a sub woofer system that sounds good to you. I have always made it a rule of thumb to decide on amps and how much space I wanted to give up to the box(s), and based on the two factors (power/space) I pick the sub(s) that fit the bill most appropriately. The biggest mistake most people make is buying the "baddest" sub they can afford and then starving it in a box that is either to small or with too little port area, or powering it with a cheap amplifier. So to answer your question, what amp(s) are you using? Have you done the appropriate electrical upgrades and do you have the appropriate space for the sub(s) that you have chosen. And lastly, yes an excellent box can make any sub perform well, a poor box will never allow any sub to perform optimally.

Daylight viewing is not an issue at all with the new "white" screens. The lettering is white, background is black. I can see the words no matter what the outside light situation is.

I actually own a 2013 JVC headunit, the KD-X250BT. I love it. I was skeptical considering I've only ever used Eclipse headunits, but I have fallen in love with it. Super easy to set up, and overall a decent build quality.

And always remember that amplifiers are more as important if not more than sub woofer choice, because after all the amplifier is providing the source for the sub woofer.
