I know, isn't it great... that took a lot of my life changing my account color.
-
Now I feel special, i'm orange.

Yep, my name is still that boring steel blue color with well over a 1000 posts including all my hop ones, lol Naaa, only 999. 1000 now, and this is my second account name... lol

I would suggest ~20 hz above tuning at low volume for an hour, turn the volume up a notch and repeat for 8 hours or so. than play some bass mechanic, than start turning the gains back up to where you would normally have them for daily and do a couple burps (with ~10 minutes in between)

I would suggest looking at Sundown if you want the best amp company customer service on the planet. Than it's up to you to choose the 1000d, or 1500d if you are really thirsting for a beastly amp for the Q.

Buy more mdf than you actually need. I would also suggest an alcoholic beverage of your choice for when you are finished.

Finished driver's side door has no drivers or grills? J Ramos you must be getting old b/c I see the gap on both passenger and driver's side. Nice choice on the morels too unless he was just using morel grills ( could possibly be dynaudio too now that I think about it.)

My only suggesion is upping your port area to 16sq inches of port per cubic foot (ie. 6.1 cubic feet and 98 sq. inches of port)

after impedance rise, probably about 3200 watts @ 12 volts. and to the person mentioning the saz-3000d making 29xx watts at 1 ohm you are not factoring in impedance rise.

Saturday night we hope to be celebrating another victory for Team SSA SQ. Don't know though, supposed to be some stiff competition at these two shows. We shall see though Talking to one of my SQ buddies, we need more shows closer than a 16 hour drive away around here. It's just sad he doesn't even get to compete lately becuase they can't spend every other weekend driving to South Carolina. I know what you mean. It sucks Yea, he has over 5 years of his life invested in his Camaro and now has a truck built as well. Image Dynamics still treats him well though and sitting in his car is audio-nirvana.

lol, you wanna see expensive wiring look at pearcable or audison connect. I will gladly pay what knukonceptz asks vs. a bare minimum of 8.xx a foot for audison wire, and I don't even wanna talk about pearcable prices.

Amp Kit Suggestions..
audio-neon replied to NAH916's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I'm a huge fan of knukonceptz, but if wire flexibility is your main concern spend the money and go with kicker hyperflex... I used knukonceptz for my saz-1500d's last season. -
Or in my case, 2 wired to 16 ohms on a 3000d, lol Seriously though I would probably pick a few up. Have a truck that could use a sub and a winter beater.

?????? Unless the power applied to each coil was far from the same, it will not still play. The magnetic forces of each coil cancel, and it will not do anything to the cone. . . In my case it was 1 of 4 subs in a common chamber that was wired backwards (but only one of the voice coils of the two was wired backwards. The sub literally ripped the surround, the dust cap came off etc... And this was on a low power substage (120 watts rms per sub). That seems very weird... To my understanding : Both coils are on the same former and if one plays out of phase, the magnetic forces will cancel each other out. I don't think there is a chance you could do mechanical damage that way. Your case was quite a bit diffrent. 1 of 4 subs wired out of phase, sharing one chamber is a whole diffrent story. The one you wired wrong acted like a PR. With 3 subs moving it, mechanical damage was a piece of cake I guess i'll have to abuse another of my diamond d1's to find out what would happen on a single sub.

Check the sundown forums for the two amp sales going on now. the 100.4 would pretty much set you up for a happy lifetime of front soundstage power. Personally I'm a college student and I choose to work all year to compete in the summer because I have gone down the cheap road before. I will not put myself through that again. I like denim's suggestion of going active but for simplicity's sake I would probably go with something like hertz power series components. For substage, have you ever considered building a new box and going with one 15" sub, I know its less cone area but it is also cheaper than 2 10" subs. I'm also not going to bash kicker because they have good products but pretty much any company you see on this website (meaning in the manufacturer section) is known for OUTSTANDING customer service.

Just got my 8455 back.... a step in the right direction.

do it, lol... I could always toss some in my winter beater.

I was browsing youtube and I came across my old setup, well most of it atleast, It was nice to see it was still going strong.

Well its tax-return time and I'm officially debt free, and its also the the start of audio season. The question is should I buy and build a new street A car. This season the car would get a modest treatment, 2 runs of 1/0 wiring, a good battery, 2 saz-3000d's, 2 (10" subs undecided but would have to be pretty beastly). The following season it would get the fun treatment, 4-6 runs of 1/0, countless hours of termlab testing/box building etc... Should I do it, represent Sundown Audio and SSA again? I'm leaning towards yes, Its a great hobby and if I could nab a cheap crx/omni etc... I should be pretty solid in the north east.

Ramos is always finding pics of stuff that completely blows me away until I see the $ tag.
