Too much water vapor, and we'd be back to the kind of climate the dinosaurs lived in Heck, too much oxygen in the atmosphere and a lot of life on the planet would be screwed... I think with the current technology we have, biofuels can be done cheaply and would be a transition to whatever's on the horizon. I think corn-derived ethanol is a joke, but Brazil seems to be having good luck with sugar... I'm a fan of both biodiesel and EV's because the level of technology is relatively low for a home builder, you can do either on the technology we have right now without much difficulty. I'd rather give corporations the finger now, instead of waiting potentially decades for a world-changing technology to finally become mainstream. Ironically enough from what I read about bio-diesels is that they are still as efficient as diesel. E-85 on the other hand is a joke. My brother's truck uses it and we live in the northeast, and at 70 cents cheaper a gallon but with a 25-40% less gas mileage you don't really gain anything out of using it. On the same note, why can't we have the real smart car. I'm sticking with wanting an LS1 camaro as its capable of 28mpg on the highway, the american smart car gets like 32 mpg... see where I'm going with this. In all honesty there is nothing more frustrating to me than seeing people driving escalades and suburbans and hummers with only one person in the vehicle. I refuse to drive anything that gets less than 20mpg unless it is carrying one or more passengers. Hell even our commercial van gets 22mpg on the highway @ 70mph and I think driving that unless at work is a waste.

Atleast in my case, one of my best friends (camaro owner as well and she is hot) works at the local pep boys and I can sit there and read the entire magazine if I wanted to.

Thats why I absolutely love hertz space kl8 mid-bass drivers. They are like 1.5" thick and you can actually mount them above the speaker hole (1") spacer and still behind the door panel in doors and they are extremely kick panel friendly too (or atleast when you are talking about cutting wheel wells and aperiodic vents etc).

I think you are talking about those circular multiple-leds that shine in a 360* radius, but not up or down. I know we have used a ton of them in installs at the shop behind my house.

I will be keeping my eyes on these subs... they look very promising. Need some ib tests on them, lol.

I guess you will find out if you get louder with both rca's working... It probably depends on how your headunit processes the sub out signal, I know my deck does it as either mono (no effect) or stereo (uses both rca's).

The MDS was kicked in the entire trip ... with the exception of a couple downshift passes and a little too much pedal pressure that sent the car sideways for a few feet better than I'd guess, but I guess that MDS thing really does help been test driving a few new chevy trucks with MDS, funny to watch a truck get 99mpg, lol. and while i don't know about dodge's, i know that the chevy's is pretty seemless when the MDS kicks on/off. i've read all those stories about how one can feel it, but IMHO, it's jsut wasn't there. didn't feel any different then anyother computer controlled engine/tranny. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee chrysler's system takes a minute (just to clarify i'm saying minute as in a very small time measurement, not the minute that is defined as 1/60th of an hour) 14 milliseconds to engage/disengage. Faster than the transmission will downshift/upshift so you would never even notice it.

I know in Jeff's sq car he chose to go out this by choosing a bigger mid-bass driver (think his crossover is set to 52 hz or something really low like that (8" mid-bass) and instead of running multiple subs he chose 2 18" woofers in IB and eq'd the crap out of them to keep the response flat from 8-60hz.

I'm an audiophile, I also happen to compete in SPL as well. So over the next few months I will be posting some before and after video's and pictures of Second Skin in some of my different builds. I had some laying around from last year and I just re-did my front speakers in my winter beater so I tossed ~12 sq feet on each door today as well as installing a pair of Hertz deici co-axials. A night and day difference from where I was at. As soon as I find my camera I will post some pics, plus it's night time now.

I'm not sure how much I'm getting them for yet. Theres a guy on caraudio.com forum selling them for $320 shipped... I'm trying to beat that price but having a hard time. I'm really just interested in how these compare with other speakers... I've heard they have soft tweets and lost of midbass. If anyone has heard these, please tell me what you thought of them I'll check on a price on them from an authorized retail shop tomorrow (its in my back yard almost literally). I'm a huge fan of the space series KL8 system. I have hertz deici co-axials in my winter beater, and I used to run hertz tweeters with my morel components.

off to work for 4 hours than working on my funeral arrangements, I hate deaths in the family.

I have wall-socketed one of my Diamond d1's in a .6 cubic foot sealed box before and it lived... but it was wired to 8 ohms and the voice coils were definitely glowing. Second attempt blew the speaker. I only use wall sockets on speakers I don't care about personally.

When my sister gets back from Italy and the camera is home, I can post pictures of my winter beater deadening which is specifically the area around the front speakers and the inside of the front door panels.

so your sugesting that i plug it into a wall socket ? for how long lol, until the circuit breaker trips. I think a wall socket is only like 3300 watts, lol

Yea i'm vegging today, spent all day yesterday in the hospital at my great grandmother's bedside, and in less than 10 hours I have to go work in my hospital, too much hospital time... Sleep sounds good.
