I don't wear winter boots, sorry that I am of no help in that department. If you are close to the city there is no snow and it's been in the upper 40s and low 50s. I would suggest thermal socks and something splash proof.

gmc 2500 hd 6.6l diesel? 2011+ they have 650-720 lb ft of torque, ok interiors, handle well and pull like a bat out of hell. My girlfriends father has an '11 and has taken a late 90's viper on the highway.

From what I have heard through the grapevine, they have had very few issues with the cummins transmissions. Mechanically that engine is solid with very few issues whatsoever. My only gripe personally is that I'd rather have the viper spec t56.

Plus I find it is especially useful to keep good relationships, I can't tell you how many times my shop has bailed me out for a competition.

Honestly brand shouldn't matter. I normally go to my local shop for odds and ends to keep some of my business local as they have always been good to me.

It sounds like a ground issue with the amp. Disconnect the ground wire from the zed amp and measure the impedance (ohms) between the wire and the ground terminal. Amp off and don't touch the power terminal or wire. What does it read? Next I would try different rcas. They are cheap and do go bad quite often. If none of this works go back to the shop and ask them to try another amp in place of the zed. Just hook it up and see if the noise is still there. I would also check the ground the jl amp but I am overly anal when it comes to electrical.
