Thanks, I couldn't remember if it was yellow or orange. -
Sounds right for the 01-03/04 trucks with the ls based 5.3L

I for one am jealous. I'm stalling on my camaro plans until I have the money to buy the car and do the sq system. (meaning the money for down payment on loan and system money).
-
This is for my beater, not for an SQ car. My sq car is getting 2 18" drivers in IB. I'm just looking for a little more low end frequency extension, nothing ground pounding. Strictly low power and musical.

agree with topgun. I have been doing some thinking... I can't decide between a ixl15, or 2 of the new SSA 8"s when they come out for infinite baffle.
-
Thank you ramos, I know I'm digging up old posts, but the two posts should be enough for me to build a removable front baffle for my neon infinite baffle project, so that I can test various sized woofers in infinite baffle.

My tc9 motor subs (10" tc sounds oem's) were seeing ~1700 watts each daily, and actually took that in free air as well.

I generally run the crossover next to the amps as they are more accessible there. Speaker wire should be run down the side of the car the speakers are on (ie 2 runs left side and 2 runs right.) Or you could always run all 4 down the center but than it gets complicated making sure every connection is to the right speaker.

If i'm thinking correctly, you don't need to connect power antenna unless you have one, illumination is also probably optional as it just tells the headunit to dim when you turn your headlights on (although i believe it's a yellow wire.) Aux in and accessory don't need to connect to anything. -
Most impressed you've ever been with a stereo?

Kristen Frederick's Camaro. Image dynamics all the way around ( I think arc audio amps or atleast they used to be arc audio). The car competes in expert iasca and just sounds amazing. -
I like them both but I've been addicted to vegas 2 for a while now. I'd suggest checking it out. Gran Turismo Prologue is out and I have been really anxious to play that! The GT games are regoddamndiculously good. Do they atleast have turbo/SC whine now? Turbo's don't really whine, ironically enough they actually lower your exhaust dB level. They do have the blow off valve sound and on the bigger turbos (commonly found on camaro's, drag cars and supras) you can actually hear a sucking noise. I wonder if I can find a video for you of how bad it would sound if you had to listen to the SC whine all day long. http://youtube.com/watch?v=OzTyLbJ7WHY and on another note I'm glad they don't change the sound when you put in a sequential transmission or it would sound a little like and just for equality here is a turbo in an ls1 powered camaro. http://youtube.com/watch?v=_THl2lyfuaI

midbass in doors, midrang in kicks, they get louder in the doors, more detailed in sealed kicks, iirc.

hayabusa, 1300cc class bike, considered one of the fastest production bikes that is mass marketed. Will do the entire 1/4 mile on one tire and my fat butt can't even keep the front end on the ground with that thing. It's a beast. http://www.suzukicycles.com/Products/GSX1300RK8

Deciphering for the sober: So drunk... Gotta work tomorrow morning... ugh... at least it's Friday... I'm getting so pissed at NCIX... We need a newegg here or something because NCIX is bullshit... at least lately... They didn't send the OS or memory for my latest build and it doesn't look like they're going to get it to me until next week (I ordered everything on Monday night, so it should have been here Wednesday morning, but it didn't even get here until today which was f#cking gay). I sent like 7 emails back and forth in the last couple of days as well as called them twice and they won't even let my GF pick it up on my behalf from one of their stores before she comes over this weekend... I'd buy local but they are so much more expensive than NCIX. Note to self: Next time you have friends over and they have Friday off, Do Not have a drinking contest... between us we downed a 26 of Amaretto and half a bottle of whiskey... tomorrow isn't going to be fun especially since the district manager is visiting the store...

Do they play nice in IB? just curious.

Well I got my hands on a couple different speakers today to play with, the HL70 (3") and HV100 (4")... I didn't have an 8" midbass mind you but I liked the mids from the 3" a little better than the 4" and feel it would be the better of the two for your 3way system. Both sounded great, but with the 4" getting down to 70hz comfortably it was interesting trying to blend without any sort of processing. They both have more than an adequate acoustical range to cover the gap between a tweeter and a 8" driver, the question comes are you looking to keep the 8" dedicated to a strong 50-100hz or let it play up to 200hz. Personally I would go with the 3" but I'm guessing those of us not really into classical music or a flatter sound would go with the 4". It allows you to keep as much bass up front as possible. Both would work for your application, decide where you want to cross your 8" and than decide from there.

you know the guy who spends $1200 on his car
audio-neon replied to denalilvr's topic in General Audio
I think it's worth it, my first audio car had over 20x what I spent on the car in audio improvements (including 1500$ in deadening.
