Speed is relative. As Sean mentioned going 75 in a boat is fierce. I have been at varying speeds in many different vehicles. 55 mph on a jet ski 13 mph in a open top'd model a or t (can't remember I was 9 or so) 173 mph in a dodge viper 125 ish in an Ariel Atom and probably ~60 in a go-kart. Right now I can tell you that nothing has ever felt as fast as that Ariel Atom, although 75 in a boat would probably feel just as fast to me. Hands down though the most exhilirating speed to me is being on a surfboard.

Like I previously mentioned where I live it's a fee and impound ( don't know exactly what the fee is off the top of my head but I know it's greater than 250). Second offense they confiscate your system.

I like the boat Sean. I'll try and post pics of my jeep sometime tomorrow after I detail my 5 day old car.

Well this is true, I left it out seeing as we were referring to car audio. I assumed that people would see this thread that way. I guess you could also say the transfer function of the vehicle comes into play as well.

We have a for sale section. You need 25 posts (preferably coherent and on-topic) to use our for-sale section When you accomplish this don't forget to list a price. Until than your first post on this board is not the way we do things here.

In 82 hours I will be leaving for a 4-day weekend in Cape May.... I can't wait

Hey jimj were you implying classical music. Because last time I checked there is nothing in rap that is considered a low frequency. My telarc cd's have warnings on them specifically stating that they will destroy subwoofer systems not designed to reproduce single digit frequencies unless a subsonic filter is present and adjusted properly. 1812 Overture by Tchaikovsky (8 hz frequencies) Jurassic Park is like 4 hz. Pipe organs go down to 8 hz etc...

I say this because I WAS you. And I went about changing the wrong way, and you sound close to it. "Nice" guys finish last because they do not express what they want. Be it fear or out of a show of respect to women or anything else. Almost every nice guy I know isn't nice to themselves and ends up unhappy and unsatisfied as they will go out of their way to make everyone else comfortable, and never ever concern themselves about their needs or wants. That only leads to one thing and that's resentment self destructive behavior and probably being a real shiz head. I chose to be a shiz head for a few months... I don't want to see anyone else do that. Nice guys should finish first, but they also need to be honest. Weather you want to admit it or not, you were'nt honest with this girl. You wanted more, but she wasn't down with that. So you stayed, basicaly saying it's ok, when really it's not. I hope it works out for you man! You actualy do sound like a good guy... just what ever you do don't get down on yourself, and start bringing up your standards for youself. Good call on getting rid of the baggage though. Sometimes you gotta clean house of the crap people in it. Wow... that was really good 7 years of military school made me really good at being selfless. I'm truly happy when other people are happy. That's what makes me happy. I know that nice guys shouldn't get walked on. That's why I'm going surfing this weekend. A treat to my self to get my equilibrium back.

Love my new jeep.

Another rough night here. It's been nearly 1.5 years since I have been on a real date. There was this girl that I was seeing and she wanted to take things painfully slow but I was a nice guy and never pushed. I find out tonight that she just wants to be friends now. I was fine with that, until I found out that last week while I was at work and she was intoxicated she made out with my best friend who was completely sober. She was just going to hide it from me instead of owning up... Seriously how hard is it to be nice to a nice guy. All I ask is that you don't lie and if you make a mistake to own up to it and tell me. * I even go so far as to promise not to get mad* It also happens that this best friend was sleeping in my bed when I got home the morning after. Spent the entire weekend over and never even mentioned anything. Let alone did he try and stop her even though he knew about my relationship. Not a bad spring cleaning. I have gone from 5 really good friends to 0.

It's been a very slow night by SSA standards.

I would do headunit first Than pick up a single Icon 12" and a sundown sae-1000d (hint that package is a deal on the SSA shop).

Pick up my jeep on Saturday. Just need to sign one last form.

Later hop. 1hr33minutes left at work, time to get my job done before the bosses come in. See you guys tonight.

I only would consider ditching my spare if you had a small commute (as my daily commute is 12 miles and I have AAA.) Ironically enough I used to ride around with my spare in the backseat anyways. Nowadays, I would rather keep the spare in my car as most of my audio comps are 200+ miles away.

my mom used to have a '97 STS with the 4.6L Northstar around 100k, we couldn't keep oil in the thing sounds like a main seal problem.

Sounds like some fun stuff. I am going to miss the car audio world until I get this new car debt under control.

only thing I'll give 'em is good food everything else... yikes Move here. We have good looking women Yea, but you have a completely frustrating mailing address. Not to mention international shipping needed for almost everything you want.

OK. A lot of things going on in your post. We need -Budget -What you need (subs, amps, alts batteries, sound deadening etc...) -What your goal is. My first suggestion is to use powermaster batteries instead of Kinetiks. I would also look into direct order subwoofer companies (mainly Mach 5, SSA and Fi, oh and soundsplinter as well).

work/ new car top.

I am on SSA at work more than at home (atleast in the hop). Still waiting for the control # from Detroit for my Jeep. Financing was approved though so now it's just a waiting game. (Good news is my dad already had a meeting planned for Friday morning with the guy that does the control #'s for the northeast). 4 hours 10 minutes until freedom. I'm glad my patients are being good and sleeping tonight.

I see a lot of bashing on the srt-4. They have a rather large trunk for a compact car. I used to have a 1 year old riding around in my 98 (remember the one with the show trunk) and I could still get a stroller in there without rubbing any of my audio equipment. The srt-4 seats are a little harsh, the cars are fun. Quick and cheap to repair. They handle impacts very well and are also undefeated (or atleast they still were in 05/06) in snow racing. Personally I will be picking up a brand new Jeep Patriot for well under your budget. I'm also a fan of the audi a6 route. A bmw 5 series, or even a infinity I30 all seem to fit the bill pretty well, as well.
