I think you should be fine with the large box, just set the gains appropriately and avoid the mechanical limits of the sub.

I think it's time for a better front sound stage. Ditch the coaxial fronts for sseparates, a tweeter and woofer. The only other quick solution would be to bridge the amp on your fronts and run the rear fill off of the head unit for power. -
How much power are you feeding the speaker? What is it rated for?

As with most things in life, keep it simple is best way to go with audio. The less drivers in a system, the less cancelation and phase issues created. If you feel that you are lacking in midbass, change your midbass driver. In all reality you should only need 1 tweeter and one midbass per side. What speakers are you currently running? Actively or passive crossovers? Also what is your sub crossed over at high and low? -
I'm assuming I will need a power source. Do I need to get two to run in stereo?

I love horns. Does that count for anything? Lol. My issues with cheap speakers is their "tinny" sound. Also cheap speakers generally sound confined, whereas my friends car the sound is effortless.

Musically I am eclectic but I have a soft spot for classic rock and the likes. Jack johnson, mae. I will listen to anything but what I am after is making things sound natural. I don't listen to opera or much jazz. I never boost anything with an eq rather I remove to get things closer to flat. I also prefer a smooth transition into the sub bass frequencies, I hate booming cars that use booming bass and turned up treble. Also to help, the sub stage will most likely be a 15 or 18 inch ssa icon in a 24-28 hz ported box.

You could do that with $15 mids and tweeters. Since you are willing to spend more understanding "what better" would be a good idea With my past systems, I could always tell with recordings that it was being rreproduce with speakers. It didn't sound natural. When I sit in my buddies car I can literally close my eyes and transport myself to the studio.

Most visual inspections are to check for cats and downstream of sensors. Hollowed out cats and or deleted or sensors with the sensors still in place would most likely pass

Sean. I just want the Element to sound better than anything I have built to date. Especially if it will be used as a demo vehicle.

They are compliant if they pass your states emission test if there is one.

As you know from my previous builds, I have always used component sets that I found to sound nice and then I had one of my iasca buddies tune the crap out of my set up. Processing isn't decided. Nothing is at this point. It's a clean slate build. I have yet to pull the a pillar apart to see how much space is back there but I am not against building them out. The door opening is 6.5", 4" deep.
