Nice job on them. And the box. I'm not fond of curving ply. Tried it once but it broke, so I switched to mdf. I can curve mdf too, I was cutting in my room, so I didn't want to deal with the dust. My carpeting job was iffy, my first time using carpet on a box.

wow! I was 18 and in Vermont. I was staying with a friend during the end of my senior year (week before graduation, no classes. So he decided that he wanted to go for a cruise on the bikes. 2 gsxr 1000's. My second or third time on a bike, never anything this powerful. I am a bigger guy though, normally I have no trouble keeping the nose down. So we are cruising through the mountains, gradually going faster and faster through turns and stuff as I got more comfortable with the bike. Finally Steve takes off, really getting on it coming out of turns, so I follow suit but I can't keep up with him. I wasn't taking it easy or anything, just not as experienced. I was getting the nose up coming out of turns, but I couldn't seem to catch up. About 3 miles later I start coming up on a bike fast, than I see the lights and I'm like oh-shit. I caught up to a cop. I didn't even have a motorcycle permit yet. He pulls me over. I hand him my wallet. He starts asking me about prom and than he asked me where I went to high school. All the while I'm freaking out. Finally he turns to me and says that I have until the count of 10 to be out of his sight, if I'm not gone he's going to have to arrest me for reckless endangerment. He hadn't gotten me on radar but he knew I was flying. I have never to this day ridden as fast as I did going back to Steve's house that day. how fast is fast Seeing as it was in mountains and there weren't a ton of straightaways, I think I hit 130ish, but it was the cornering that I was considering fast.

2.2 cubic feet tuned to 30hz. Sundown Audio SD-1 12" 8 ohm svc. Box is 3/4" birch, 4" aero port.

    Interesting...

8 inches. Small subs, lol. I think the TC sounds OEM's are taller. *hey if you still have yours, i'll take them, lol.* Most of theirs is basket depth I have an SVC 4 ohm here... and a friend of mine has one as well. I think I will stick with your "interesting" nightshades for my next Street A build.

That is not bad at all. I have never gotten a warning. Only got let off when I told the cop that he was wrong about the speed limit to his face and pointed at the sign in front of my car (25 feet or so away). I have been pulled over, ticketed and paid for: 41 in a 25. 80 in a 55 (which I wasn't doing). 86 (written as 85) in a 65. 76 in a 55. The night that I got off from a ticket, it was thanksgiving and I was trying to get to a gas station, my car temp was fluctuating a lot and my car was smoking blue. Not 5 minutes later did the same cop call me a tow truck for my blown engine, after he pulled me over for doing 44 in a 45. (he thought it was a 30, must'a been a rookie). I was avoiding an accident once, ended up cutting off a cop car. I got a ticket for unsafe lane change *because I was trying to avoid an accident that occurred in front of me*.

    Welcome to the IHoP

The first time I ever went to Jersey, I had some mixed reactions to the high speeds (I was 18 and had 3 tickets in the previous year). I was following a friend who had his cruise set to 90mph. We were with the flow of traffic, and every time we passed a cop my heart dropped. The next year I went down following another friend (he was driving a 2005 Roush Stage 1 Mustang Convertible) We come up behind an m3 and ls1 Camaro. (I'm the slow one sitting in a turbo slush-box neon) So we all line up in the left lane and proceed through the entire state of NJ @ 105mph (with bursts higher) Around Atlantic City we passed a cop, his lights went on and he burnt out of his little spot. He was closing fast on my rear bumper. Caught up and turned his lights off. Another two cop cars show up and pass the group of us and get in front of the m3 and Camaro, slow us all down to 90 mph, turn their lights off and left. I thought I in my seat I was so freaked.

    Speaker help!

I'm willing to bet that your settings on your amp are messed up (ie crossovers). High pass lets the high frequencies through and low pass lets the low frequencies through. -I would turn all of the low pass x-overs all of the way clockwise (as high as they will go) and all of the high pass x-overs counter-clockwise (to the lowest frequency they will go). Your component set has passive crossovers. Next I would check the phasing. Take the left channel rca's and (while the system is off) swap (red and white, not with the right channel rca's) them and see if it gets louder. If none of this works, I would be looking for a new quality amp.

    wiring help

OK. First things first. Disconnect all of your wiring. The problems sound like you have phasing issues (ie some coils are wired wrong.) We need to know what the coil configuration is on the subs and the amp name/model so we know what impedances it can handle, than we can go from there.

    Sundown Audio CLOSED June 20 - 24

Kind of an oxymoron... LOL! I know exactly what you mean though. I live on the windward side of Oahu in Hawaii, and we have days/weeks/months like that. ALOHA FROM HAWAII, SKY PS Jake if you ever do come to Oahu, we we'll definitely take you to our weekly watering hole, Lisa's House. A bunch of us car audio enthusiasts meet there every Wednesday night too "shoot the chit" about car audio. Seriously though, the rain in the spring/summer months in Florida is so regular you could set your watch by it.

    Recommend components under $200

It's budget sq. From what I remember the x-overs were horrible and the speakers weren't too bad. The tweets weren't the cleanest I have ever heard either. This is of course a few years ago for me. Best component sets I can think of around 200$ are: Morel Pulse Hertz Deici DD (can't remember the price but they aren't bad at all, tweeter is a little on the harsh side) Memphis SQ's Polk dB series ( I really loved my pair, they aren't SQ all the way but are great sounding) MB quart Discus
