www.pcmforless.com 250+ shipping for a tune Have to send in my PCM (Down time) to avoid crank relearn If I don't send in my PCM I have to do crank relearn when I get it back ($50 probably) $50 for future tuning upgrades ehhh There should be plenty of tuners down there for ls based truck motors. I'm surprised you have only found too. Have you looked into companies like Texas-Speed? http://www.texas-speed.com/shop/item.asp?i...=79&catid=4 They are in Wolfforth Texas. Only 9.5 hours away lol. There a good company though. I'll probably be orderring from them sometime I love their products. Have gotten a cam set or two from there. My buddy wanted a little more moving motivation for his truck. I can't remember all of the parts we have gotten from there, but I have loved them ever since I heard a magic stick 3 cammed LS1 Camaro at a drag strip.

my bad it took me so long to answer this haha. Have not looked at this in a few weeks. $$ is really no issuse. I will spend what ever is needed to get the best setup. Right now i have 4 small 200watt 2 channel amps that put out max power at 4ohms 100wattx2 i wont be powering anything off of the headunit. Im putting it in a 2000 dodge caravan so i have pretty much a crap load of space. Im looking for a good set of 6x9 3ways or 5ways at least 4 prob gonna put in 8 of them. Good tweets i have 4 kicker 1/2" right now but looking to upgrade. And i need either 2 or 4 good 5 1/4" 3ways for the dash basicly im just trying to figure out what brands would be good to go with i heard MB quartz was good as well as focal and soundstreem. Im just trying to figure out what other people think would be good that they have personaly heard brand wise for SQ componet setups. Im trying to get something that can compeat with my 2 BTL 18"s so i can actully hear the music over the bass lol. Yay, I get to play bad guy. You aren't going to get a "sq set up" that will compete with your BTL's period. Since you said SQ, you are going to want Large midbass, efficient mid-range and horn-tweeters. The idea behind having the large mid-bass is that you can set your low pass on your subs really low for daily. Basically making your subs cover the sub 40hz range only. The BTL's are still loud, so you are going to have to use the headunit or the gain itself to turn them down some. My suggestion since cost isn't an object is Hybrid Audio Legatia L8 and L4 and Image Dynamics horn tweets. The L8's would go in your doors, feeding each L8 200 watts would be a good place to start. The L4's would go in the kicks and you are going to want to find an experienced horn installer to install and tune your horns. You will only need ~17 watts per horn. haha yeah i kinda figured that the btls would drown out pretty much any kind of frontstage but worth a shot i would still like it to be louder tho Just a hint, when it comes to Front stage, more speakers does not = louder.

Would it be worth it for me to start planning for SBN soon? I would really like to go and compete, I have to build a car, decide how I'm getting it down there, get hotel reservations, possibly flight arrangements as well.

jacob are your 4 amps straped or one for each sub? In the truck ? They are strapped with a Maxx-Link - each pair strapped @ 1 ohm to a pair of subs (1/2 ohm each amp). You know you voided your warranty doing that. Eh, warranty. He don't need no stinking warranty. I strapped my saz-1500d's to a .35 dcr ohm load once just for s*#%s and giggles and it survived it like a champ.

I hear you ramos. I need to schedule a vacation.

I would suggest getting the 1/0 gauge kit but 20 feet should be enough.

wow, the hop has 4 greens in it at the same time, lol. tirefryr jmac dave edwards and chevy350tpi unprecedented for as long as I can recall

7) Can I use the BR IN and BR OUT connectors for daisy chaining amps? Do they work like regular outputs? - 4/21/08 NO, they can not be used as regular outputs for daisy chaining amps. DO NOT do this. The BR OUT if to be connected to the BR IN of a slave amp, when strapped, ONLY. DO NOT put signal INTO the BR OUT connector. Here you jump on the man , then post what's in the sticky ....... Bad ju ju man Yea, makes sense, I was too busy being immature.

Still awaiting new baskets for the production version. The mini-run 8's should get going here this week, I hope. cool, If i'm still on the list. I can't wait. ----------------------------------------------- Same topic Dr. Johnson is funny. I'm somehow immature, because I got mad at someone posting against my E-Integrity.
-
I'm sorry if I offended you. I'm sure you took the time to read my 1800+ posts.

Aaron, any word on those "proto 8's"? just curious.

It's just frustrating when someone posts merely to be stupid and raise their post count. I almost feel like spamming. I'd like to be in the top 20 posters, I'm currently 32nd.

Yeah boy Not to bring up a sore subject, but any updates on the bad news? 90 minutes... bad news???? I feel totally out of the loop, lol. And if I get reported for my post preceding this one, I don't care. I hate people thinking they know it all and trying to discredit me when I'm trying to help and their only input is that my link was not helpful (even though it was) and that I apparently didn't read the OP, even though I answered his question.
-
Maybe you should learn how to read. In that FAQ I linked, it actually answered his question about daisy chaining amps. Now you can get off of your high horse thinking you caught me making a mistake. I'm not the bad guy here, I was trying to help, you didn't need to attempt to discredit what I said to make yourself look bigger. And you had nothing to add to his post, you did not help answer his question and your post was Completely Unnecessary. The best solution have for him is to use RCA splitters. http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseac...Product_ID=6311

Read the stickies please http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...?showtopic=7406 there's the sticky you want.

That's what I thought also, but doesn't efficiency have something to do with overall SPL? The Arsenal 12's are rated at roughly 87db and the SSD is a little over 89db. I didn't know if that would be a large difference. Of course I don't know how to factor the increased port area of the larger box as it relates to increase in SPL. I'd hate to spend $500.00 and build a new box if we weren't going to see a fairly large jump in wangage. Thanks for helping educate me. Thoughts? Efficiency is a really interesting #. Install is everything. A well built enclosure can be night and day from an ok built enclosure. I would consider your goals. Will 18" SSD's get louder than 12" AA arsenals. It's like adding 2 more 12" subs to your current set-up. It's a theoretical instant 3dB gain, or about ~33% louder because our hearing is logarithmic. I agree that cone area wise, 226 sq in now and 508 sq in with the 18's will be more than doubling the effective cone area. The SSD's have 3 mm more stroke, so I'll have more swept voulme also. Port area should increase substantially (I have no idea how much) which should help also. Lastly 2 dB in efficiency will also help the cause. do you think 3dB is a little conservative? Secondly, a well built enclosure is a must, I agree. The box I built for his current subs were from plans that Chad at AA sent me. I'd need that kind of direction with this project also. Yes, my 3dB estimate was conservative.

Maybe someone will have to talk to Jacob and see who he knows over there... lol. I know Jacob has connections *hint Jacob, suggest it to your guys over there* lol.

IF YOU TRY THIS: -Keep the volume and gains low. A sub will move a lot more free air than it will in a box, therefore it is much more prone to mechanical failure. -Keep the bottom of the motor off of something if it has a vent. -Don't put it near other electrical devices such as a tv, it has a ton of magnet force and can permanently damage a TV. -Keep the soft parts of the sub clear from any debris and make sure nothing gets on the former/voice coil. A good demonstration of free air playing can be found here: It is one of my old set-ups. You can actually hear a noise in that video from the air getting trapped in the pole vent because the bottom of the sub wasn't clear. I also wired my subs up to 4 ohms for that video, and turned the gains down and as you can see they still moved quite a bit.

that would be sweet! You would need to get a rep of some sort interested enough to talk to Aaron and Mark.

They already been ordered! It normally takes about a week for me, I'm on the east coast. If your in cali, I would expect ~7-9 business days. I hope that helps. (Actually I used to order mine on Friday and have them on a wed/thursday) I'm in NY to give you an idea of shipping distance.

-I would only use 1 Legatia set-up. It has been mentioned before in this thread so I won't get into the issues of running multiple sets. -I don't see a major difference in output between 2 12" Icons on ~1000 watts rms a piece and 3 10" Icons on 1000 watts rms. The 10's would have more cone area, but are slightly less efficient. All in all it comes down to space, and seeing your want for a lower tuned enclosure I would probably suggest the 12"s because they are slightly more efficient. But either route will yield very similar results in a properly built enclosure. - Why buy 2 Sax-100.2's? You could always grab a 100.4 and save on amp space. In any regards the term LSQ is simply a bad one. Any sound quality system (excluding exotic transducer designs) I have ever seen, the most toned down part of the audible spectrum is tweets and subs. You should have more than enough output with either sub option, remember that headroom is a good thing and the limiting factor on spl is the enclosure, almost every sub-woofer can get louder than necessary, it's all in the install.
