First question is is a ZCON 10" doable, even just as a custom?... If I come back, i'm going at it no holds barred. Was thinking in my crazy mind 2 Saz-2500D's and 2 10" (would love for it to be Zcons)

Mark and Aaron, i'm starting to get that itch again... and my father just happens to have purchased a 4 door 98 neon that is just sitting in our driveway...

Thanksgiving killed the hop today... Just saying

A little more expensive than previous options, but there are atleast 2 sundown SAZ-1500d's in the classifieds section, he's asking for 325, but entertaining offers... They are rock solid amazing amps.

Fuck you cowboys.... I knew us Fins were the long shot, but at least we weren't blown out.
-
When you clamped it, was it a sine wave (aka burp frequency) or on music?
-
Ok.. what amp are you using? and what is your final impedance ( in other words what is the impedance the amp is seeing)? Caps lock isn't needed, I know I can come across as condescending, but I am really just trying to keep the peace while spreading some clarity and understanding.

Aaron, you know I have a love affair with TC sounds... my checking account hates when I see her at the bar and spend too much money on her. I loved my OEM 10"s
-
I think I might just have to break the bank and buy one of these... Curious as to who built these for you, were they built by tcsounds? or audioque? If you decided to send me one for free, i'd promise to love it everyday .

Before this becomes a pissing contest. I = V/R Current= Voltage/ Resistance For the sake of keeping this simple we will assume that Resistance isn't changing. Now without knowing anything about your amp other than MY ASSUMPTION that it is a 1500 watt class D mono block and your subs are wired for a final impedance of 2 ohms. Your amp should be capable of producing 1500 watts rms @ 13.2v. @ 1 ohm so approximately 750 watts @ 2 ohms. You are estimating that it is producing between 600 and 800 watts. So if we are only changing voltage by (once again your estimation) by ~.5-.8v. ( and just so we are clear here, you are talking about increasing voltage by roughly 4%) How are you expecting a current increase of 200+ % So yes your math on electrical theory is flawed. A 4% increase in voltage will not net you a 200% or greater increase in amperage.

WTH? ID XS-65 blown / broken 1st day??
audio-neon replied to JohnHinerman's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
Have never heard of ID products having continuous issues, hoping that this was just an isolated incident. Can't say much if they got bought out though, like Diamond Audio did... Haven't been relevant with current products, so I do apologize. -
Can we call this the Literal form of carpooling?

SSA's Evil SS Camaro. 4 Evil 15s and 2 DC 7.5ks

But you have to love the automatic gangsta lean the seating position pretty much mandates -
2.0 seems to share architecture from the 80's block that was re-used for the neon etc.. Alternator location blows... I haven't even looked to see where it is on the 2.4L that I have.

Recone the sub, should fix the problem... I am guessing the subs have been pushed much harder before and just happened to be a coincidence when the one sub chose to fail. Just curious, what voltage does your battery/charging system maintain when "daily bumping?"

Although Jacob and his Nightshades are pure sex Oh yea, Hi Jacob

Looking for pure spl, not worried about the musicality of them? I've been out of the game for a couple years, but I'd look for something efficient, with a decent xmax and the thermal capacity to handle ~1200 watts rms... 10" Icon dual 1 ohm coils for a final impedance of 1 ohm... on that amp should be a good start. I've always wanted to play with Icon's, they are built well. I will have to let some of the other members with more experience guide you in the box design, I wish I had more time and still had all of my notes from street A, i'd be able to help you more expediently.

Whats wrong with my AQ1200???
audio-neon replied to djlilmikeny's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
It would have helped if I saw all of the posts before responding, I read through page 3 and thought that I had read them all, missed the pics... Yea the 50 amp 32v fuse could have been the culprit, but I suspect that the resistor failed prior to that incident, and was just perpetuated by new fuses and the excess of current allowed by the 50a/32v fuse. -

Oh and if you have a remote gain, disconnect them... They are prone to failure and are crap... Just my opinion. -

Quick checks... Disconnect your sub from amp... Will the amp power on? Check for voltage at amp If it won't power on. Replace fuses in amp... will amp power on? Check wiring at any point where it passes through metal ( from battery through bulkehead) What else are you running? Amp for highs/mids? If you just start burning fuses, it leads me to believe either the amp had an internal failure, your battery was at a low voltage, causing a higher current draw than normal, or that a short has been introduced into the electrical circuit. -
I am just having a hard time seeing 8's burping that low without damage... I Love 8" subs don't get me wrong, but you are facing some major disadvantages, and I've got experience doing street A trunk (old street A)... That being said, it isn't impossible... A well designed and built box, something that would prevent the subs from unloading while maintaining maximum output.... One thing that really hurts you is that being a trunk car, you're cars resonant frequency will likely be in the 48-60hz range... Meaning you won't gain any easy output that route. If it were me, I'd do the 8's and maybe a 4" aero-port all firing Forwayd, Port on drivers side would be where I would start. SPL is a funny game though, it requires a lot of testing and changing before you ever get a set up that really puts up numbers, and there is always room for improvement. Aeroport calculator can be found here= http://www.psp-inc.com/tools.html

It's a Junction box (well technically that's a back panel) for part of a Steam Generator.... I work for a supplier for General Electric, Altair and a few other companies, My job is an assembler. I take GE engineers drawings and make them a reality (or technically any customer's engineers). I'm not entirely at liberty to disclose everything due to copyrights, trade secrets etc... But I thought you guys would enjoy what my passion for car audio has me doing now, wiring and building... I also have the luxury of having a full wood shop in house as well, and a master carpenter who has been teaching me tricks when I have the time to learn. For example, today I crated (built the crates as well): And shipped 80 hoists and parts kits that go with wind generator towers to Shanghai China.

Should be fixed now.
