What is your point also? How about before posting questionable comments, you ask some useful comments like: What's the SSF set to? or What's the HZ set at on the amp or What's the input level at?........Jeez, some of you do anything for a post count. Yup...anything +1

I've got mine in a ported box and I'm going back to sealed. I love these subs. In the 12" test on ROE, the Q tested well above the W7 as far as SPL. SQ is subjective. I actually like te W6s better than the W7s as fas as SQ. But even if Fi was only equal to JL...how can you justify the price difference? Fi owns JL.

If cost is a factor, I'd go with a single 18 Q or BL. I know the Q can take 1500 watts daily without the BP option...I imagine that the BL could do the same. With 1500 watts, I'd go with SSDs if you want a dual sub setup considering that you don't want to add more power.

Good job!

Damn....you must be an animal. I pretty much abuse my Q12 all of the time...never had a problem.
-
That sucks...that's why I have my bass knob out of sight. Just in case someone else needs to drive it, I can prevent abusive fools from destroying my sub. But then again...I never let anyone else drive my car.

That is an awesome install.
-
I have an EP2500 too...can't wait to fire it up on my new Q12!
-
Q is about 25 lbs. My Q can easily handle more than 1000 watts.

With a name like Loose Cannon...I'd have to say no. I have a US Amps USA-2000x on my Q12 daily. Unless I get stupid...the Q does well. I'll smell something burning if I start REALLY cranking up the volume. Usually, it is at the point where I am not getting extra output.

I vote for 2 Q's. The XXXs are amazing subs but you can get 2 Q's and still have some money for what a XXX will go for...at cost. The reason I followed Scott to Fi is partly because RE's prices are getting out of hand. $1600 for a damned sub? BTW, I have an 07 XXX 12 (actually an 06 model). It sits in my closet as my Q keeps me plenty happy...just bought a second Q. I will go with 2 Q12s in a sealed box when I get back from Iraq in Jan. Plus 72 lbs on the XXX vrs 54 lbs for 2 Q's? All the reasons would indicate that 2 Qs will be the better way to go.

Awesome story! Fi is a great company.
-
Sounds like a good reason to buy a Q.

I thought you said this amp does 1000 watts on the dot? So what's up with the extra 100? Seriously...this amp is a great deal, even at MSRP.
-
I think he is saying that the SSD will be a better fit with your amp and box. You'll need to go with a larger box if you must have the Q. .88 is pretty far away from 1.1.
-
You tried something else and it didn't meet your needs. No big deal. I've been through 4 different subs in my car but I don't see me selling my Q12...ever.

WTF...total madness

Looks great!

I think he is a bad businessman. There is money to be made so why turn business away by being a jakcalope? If I were him, I'd tell the customer that I'll do the box. Ask the customer to give me some contact info. Call Fi and see what they say. And build a box accotingly. Customer gets a box, I get a little bit of profit and we are both happy.

Keep up the good work. I know I've been a little impatient with getting my emails answered as of late. But please understand...I love your products. -
Scott, Nick or Shawn is anything getting through?

That's me...I just got a Q12. I'll email you with the correct shipping address. -
I get good SQ from both ported or sealed. I imagine that ouput is important to you...I'd go ported.
-
That is crazy. I think your car is going to fall apart.
