I would if I could find a 24 volt amplifier.

I'm deployed to Iraq (9 months done, 6 to go) and I was starting to get serious sub bass withdrawals. I just got a great deal on a Behringer EP2500 for my HT setup. I was going to order a Q12 for my car when I got back but I had an idea. So I emailed Scott and Nick to see if they could build me a small sealed box and ship the box to Iraq loaded with a Q12. Scott said yes so I placed my order. I was getting impatient because I wanted to know how much more Fi needed for the box and additional shipping. Then it arrived today and it is amazingly in 1 piece. I've had a smile on my face all day. It is jury rigged with 3 adaptors inline running of my laptop but it still sounds awesome. Thanks a million Fi! I truly appreciate the service and extra effort. The year will go by a LOT faster now. My camera is dead right now so I'll post some pics as soon as I get some batteries. James

IIRC, a cosmopolitan is a vodka and cranberry juice with a splash of lime served shaken in martini glass. Def a yuppie chick drink. I used to be a bartender.

Call Fi and see if they have any more X10's left. I've seen some older posts where Fi said they can make the X series on a special order basis.

so you were drinking a cosmopolitan? That's ghey...really ghey.

The epicenter will make most recordings sound weird but it will help with some crappy MP3s or CDs...or even cassette tapes if you still have them B) The EPIC-150/160 is a cool piece just for the SPL meter even if it isn't dead on accurate.

Awesome! Fi makes some awesome stuff!

His impatience is a testament to how good fi's products really are.

The faster attack times with it sealed outweigh the output gain with it ported, more of a personal thing. I have a 2000 watt amp so I can get similar output with 2 sealed on 2000 watts while reducing the probability of me burning my sub up. I'm not a BTL or BL type of guy either. The Q will get loud and sound great in either alignment.

I had my Q12 in a sealed box for a short while and really liked it. I plan on putting my Q12 back into a sealed box...it is in a 2.0 cu ft box tuned to 32 hz right now.

Yes, I purchased mine before the option was offered.

man. EMAIL not PM, EMAIL nick (ngmustang) if you're having trouble getting scott, he is a busy man. PM...that's how you tell someone is new to Fi.

Lucky for you, I went from an 05 XXX 12 to a Q12. Both were on a 2000 watt US Amps USA-2000x. The XXX 12 and Q were both tuned to 32 hz. I've heard both subs in a sealed box as well (the Q for a short while). They are very similar...low end monsters. The only edge that the XXX has is a little more power handling and the XXX is slightly sharper and quicker than the Q. It is a minor difference but the XXX handled fast transients better and cleaner but only very slightly. The Q is louder, especially at 80hz+. Weighs half what a XXX weighs. Costs less. Maybe more low bass...I really didn't notice a significant gain down low. The Q takes the 2000 watts but really complains on test tones and heavy bass music. The XXX was more reliable at 2000 watts than the Q. The Q solves all of the weaknesses of the XXX with a very minor penalty in SQ. Needless to say, the all 3 of my 05 XXXs went up for sale...I have never looked back. And to expand on what RIckRolled said, the XXX played everything razor sharp, the Q softens things up a bit.

I think you were gone already

You deserve a break. Enjoy the holiday.

Ooops...I used peanuts when I sent a sub back to RE Audio. It is never easy trying to pack a 50+ lb subwoofer.
-
I think the Q can reach a little lower than the BL.

Does the recone kit include shims?

If you want something less bottom heavy...try it sealed.

Only one way to find out...

There are plenty of qualified people to help...post some max dimensions and how much power you have. Or call Fi.

When RE had the MTs...everyone used to b1tch about them blowing so fast and easily. I think Fi was VERY smart to offer the daily option for the BTL which is similar to the MT...a purpose built SPL sub. With that said. I'm sure Fi knows their subs. If they say pick the daily option for daily use...pick the daily option. You could order 1 with the daily option and another one with the SPL option for comps. Just change them out before the comp. Or just compete with the daily subs. Might not win but comps are more about having fun, learning, and meeting other people.

I think everyone got the idea to use a DMM from JL.
