Well, my DP is scheduled to be delivered today. Thanks so much Denim for having the patience with all of us that are anxious to get our stuff. With that said, we'll see how it goes. UPS is HORRIBLE and I am praying that my sub arrives here unharmed. I have had multiple bad experiences with them and to be quite honest, their company is a complete joke. I really wish SSA would consider using Fed Ex because SSA offers so much more than any other site I can think of. If my shipment is destroyed like I fully expect, I will provide pictures of the jerk off UPS driver... holding my destroyed driver, along with other pictures of UPS' foul ups that have arrived to my house. I will also provide other info on recent claims with them as well. Anyways, sorry for the rant, BUT I FACKING HATE UPS. All I keep thinking about is how that idiot rolled my XCON 18 over and over on the floor to get it out of his truck 3 months ago.

That's customer cervix right there

Just responded to your email. Thanks, I hope I didnt mess up by being impatient and jumping on the DP. At that price, it was just hard to turn down. I will be buying a battery from you guys soon, thanks for all of your help.

Meh, I think I'd rather have an XCON if it's not too late. I sent you guys an email through your contact section on your site.

Can I just get a store credit on the money I spent on my DP12? If so, I will spend more money , and on an XCON. Or is that line backed up too?

Sweet! Any idea when these will hit the market? I will be buying a batt within the next month

Hey guys, I'm in the process of deadening my trunk and I have a question. I have (2) vents in both rear quarter panels just below the floor line of my trunk. I plan on applying deadener all around those vents, but should I apply it OVER the vents as well? I know these things are designed to relieve cabin pressure or whatever, but what should I do with them? Here is a pic:
-
Thanks, yeah, I will definitely keep them uncovered. I left the vents alone in my F150 and had no problems.
-
yeah, it was 2303.5 but I rounded up

Ok, I bought a 12" Death Penalty on the last day of the sale and I am in the design process of the enclosure. My car is an 08 Infiniti G35 with factory Bose/Navi with a 10 inch factory sub in the rear deck. I will be taking the factory sub out in order to allow sound to x-fer to the passenger cabin. The majority of what I've read for trunk cars says, for best results fire sub back and port back. Would I be ok firing the sub face up into the vacant 10" hole, and firing the port back? The dimensions I have for my sub back/port back enclosure is 15.5" H x 31.5w x 16.25 d. This comes out to a final 2.22 cuft 33.48hz with 35 sqin of port. Now, I can adjust the box height up to 17" if I were to fire the sub up, but, I would have to reduce the depth to say 15. Also, I'm a little concerned with port area. I dont want the port area to be too small at 35sqin, but it is an avg of 15.77 per foot. I'm afraid of making the port non linear with the enclosure. But IA suggests an avg box of 2.5cuft with 35sqin of port, so according to them I would be good. I just wanted to hear the opinions of others on this. Thanks for any input guys. P.S. The power I will be running to it is 2304 RMS @ 1ohm/14.4v Will be adding an xs power batt in the back as well.

Thanks for the fast response Rudeboy, my goals are pretty much right in the middle between SQ and SPL, leaning more twords SQ. I think I will just deaden around them. Thanks!

Ok, where do you guys buy your carpet for your builds? I want some really good carpet that doesnt have a bunch of crap on the back and is easy to use. I will be carpeting parts of my box, trim work and false floor. I've always used 3M 77 glue but I saw where some folks were spraying on that contact cement stuff. There really isnt much difference in the 2 right? I was checking out a lot of Thumper's enclosure builds and that guy did really good work. His forum looks like it hasnt been active in a while. Any idea what he uses? Thanks for any help. TST

Lots of good info here. You can take a lot from what was said above from each poster and you can not go wrong. I didn't see ANY ill advice. Good luck buddy and keep us updated on your progress.

Thanks guys. I have some black carpet from parts express that I purchased a couple of years ago that I like. I have just seen some enclosures with carpet that seems to have a different texture than what I have. I was looking at Mark's box for his XCON 18's that I had and that is very similar to what I'm talking about. Thanks for the replies.

Ok, I have designed a box for both subs which I will be making my purchase today and I'm wondering which is the better route to go. The biggest I can go in my trunk is a box that is 2.50 @ 34hz gross after displacements. it measures 17h x 31w x 17d with the port are being 43.5(17.68 per cuft). I'm running a DB Drive amp, which I found where someone clamped them at 2300 @ 1 ohm. Which sub should I go with? DP 12 or DR 15? The box size is .25 cuft smaller than minimum for the DR 15. and exactly at average for the DP 12. I'd hate to lose the cone area going with the 12, but it would take more power. It's looking like to me that the DR is the way to go, thoughts?
-
Thanks guys, that's just what I thought. I just didn't know if anyone had success running the DRs in a smaller box, and I thought with my power I'd have a shot. I was looking for a more """SQL""" based driver, but then again, I'm coming from 2 1508s so the DR should still sound better. I have one day left to make a decision before these beauties go back to regular price. With IA, it's the 12" DP or nothing.

Does anyone know of the T/s parameters of this sub? Enclosure recommendations? Hell, the only info available, is that it's a 12" sub and takes 1500w RMS. What kind of enclosures have people been putting these things in? I am REALLY interested in one of these with the sale going on, but I need a little more info. Thanks

Ahhh, thank you. I went to their site but didnt think to look in the tech section.
