Been checking up on a lot of scams on these things. Maybe I should hold off before paying 400+ for a set that could be fake? Too late, I won @ $275. Hope they're legit.

Which is louder will depend on the install and the cut through. based on cone area alone the 18 will have an advantage. I'd much rather have the BL, but that is my personal preference. My bros bl 12 is louder than his L7 12, so... Its up to the quality of the install imo. #s coming from different vehicles wont be very relevant because of how many factors can change things (tuning, vehicle, power, placement, meter, etc..). I had a guy tell me he hit 160 with 2 10s and 1000 watts peak in his ext. cab I was like It was maybe in the 30s. Point is, people can tell you what they hit, but you could be much higher or lower, so it doesn't matter.

Need alittle help with dual 1 and dual 2 BTL12
tejcurrent replied to DeafnRightEar's topic in General Fi
When wiring a Dual Voice coil sub, you can only have a final load of half the two, or twice the two. Meaning dual 1= .5 final load or 2ohm. Yes, you are stuck with 2 ohm. Unless you find two amps you like and put one on each 1ohm coil. Hifonics and kicker both have decent 2 ohm amps. Kicker 2500. -
I'm sorry, I'm a little lost with some of the acronyms flying around I feel a little ADD^^ (I had to go there) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SPARS_Code

No joke, as long as I'm not outbid in the next 16 hours... always seem to lose by <$1.00 on the good stuff at the last few seconds. Oh well, If I win it was meant to be, right?

Yeah, the 99 yukon I have has got close to 200k miles now, and the weakest link in the whole system seems to be the transmission. Talked to countless owners with serious differential problems related to factory problems. didn't know about the fuel system problem though. I'd put in a new engine with 350-400hp naturally aspirated-but the yuk is 2wd. I refuse to beef up a 2wheel suv. next one will be 4wd. I'll put up some pics of how that POS suspension handles the 4-500lbs of equip already in there, not to mention how it'll like the extra 2-300 I want to add. blazers with a 5.7 are pretty sweet, and unexpected too.

Dear lord that's beautiful. I'd love to have those on the work bench. Please let some of that fall this way Looks great, much face there (six layers)-it's just awesome. Love to hear that one day.

BLASPHEMY i tell you........ BLASPHEMY !! THANK YOU SIR!!! My thoughts 100% RIckRolled recommended a great site to me, but everythings just too expensive right now. I was thinking build my own towers with some infinity speakers in there for the time being, smoothed over and painted silver to match everything else. Unless someone else has a suggestion, I can get infinity speakers with one set per tower @ <$50 a tower (me building of course). DVD player will be the PS3-has HDMI cable and works good.

Not so much into performance mods myself. Had a mustang gt I started working on, but I sold it to get my yukon. Only thing I want to do to it is supercharge it. Too many miles imo though, I'm waiting for a newer one. Then I'll look for the 400hp+. That'll help tow the occasional trailer and the daily audio load Don't care to get speeding tickets anymore. Last time I got pulled they tried to get me for 'avoiding' them in my mustang, so... more cumbersome suv it is

I was kind of looking at a harmon kardon 7.1 (the avr 247) -any input? I would go with that onkyo, but the wife prefers the silver look to match the tv Thanks. I've done the math: Home setup- ~500(amp)+500(receiver)+500(speakers)+100(rcas/wire)+200(cdplayer)+200(table)+200(build materials)=$2000-2500 give or take. Extra BTLs- 750(subs)+1500-2500(amps)+build materials(400) (not counting what I have)=2650-3650 making the h/t setup cheaper no matter what. EVERYONE seems to think the h/t setup would be better than 2 more subs, saying I have enough bass in the car. I have a difference of opinion... I don't know...

Make sure you have the cut list with exact sizes, cuts, and where before you start cutting. Then label as you do. This will really help the build go quick once you start. I like to use a finish nailer to hold panels together, it makes it easier when you're holding things yourself, and makes much smaller holes than pre-drilled countersunk screws. Also, make your own cuts, don't let lows or home depot cut for you to make it easier with big panels-they always seem to get things off square. Good luck

http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cf...tnumber=300-808 I was liking the look of this amp because I could build it into the underside of the table where it would be out of view for the happiness of the wife, and stand less of a chance of others playing with the controls. After talking to scott I found out an 18" Q would need ~20ft... but an SSD would only need 12. I think I might go with the ssd because there's no way I could make a coffee table that big blend in with the rest of the furniture. I'm trying to find a good source unit right now, so I'll be able to hear it when I set it up. Thanks for the suggestions.

RIckRolled, what did tell you that? I would seriously doubt that amps putting out twice the rated power...
-
If you want to use a different amp in the future that'll put out more power than what you currently have, then it would be something to consider. It should help the power handling. If you won't be changing amps you'll probably be fine.

so 4 1500s, would it take 2 3ks? was that for daily or burps?

sundown sae 1000d power wire question? 0 gauge doesnt fit like it shou

Sometimes you do have to trim 1/0 to fit in things that say they take 1/0. Many companies seem to have a different idea of what 1/0 means in size. I wouldn't sweat it, just trim it down a little neatly and you should be good. I never really liked the connection of the reducers myself, but they can be pretty handy sometimes. -
Great job. congrats. Those girls look friendly, why is it the hooters girls around here look like they came from the woods, and try to tell you stories about what they can do with a coke can as you try to eat? Oh well

I just realized how things are setup in there from the pics (I'm a little slow). I like it. I need to go to a show pretty bad and get metered. last time was around 151, before adding a little more than double the power and beefier electric. But I'm tuned around 34-35hz. I'm sure you've still got me by a few dbs Great job, what freq was that 155.8 at?

Get the amps mentioned. Go to the shop with those brands in mind, then ask to hear what they have. Ask for a demo, and buy what sounds best to you. The focals would be a nice choice, or mb quart if they have it. Just see what you like. I was recommended CDT because they had a bit less of a harsh sound than what I had before. I found out I didn't like that, and should have demo'd things before hand. Make up your mind for yourself, so you aren't upset someone with different tastes sends you in the wrong direction. ^edit^ took so long to post the above hadn't been posted yet, I agree 100%.

The 3rd magnet helps with the high xmax option, and both are a good addition for daily. For spl competition purposes high xmax becomes less of a concern, but on music it makes a difference. I'd load it down w/ options. Someone else could step in and let you know about the difference to the ear. Cooling is a very good thing to get for daily though, if nothing else.
