These are progressing fantastically. I'm proud to be apart of this master plan. You are really taking this company to new heights

With a boot on the motor they would look perfect.

Finally after almost a year in the making, here is a clip of my setup in action. The port is in the middle so be aware there is noise in the video from all the air these 10's push out. The camera doesn't really pick up all the excursion very well either. I think I put SAX-1500 instead of SAZ... Ooops. In too much of a hurry.
-
Some new window candy today... Should have some vidz of my setup pretty soon.

I love my DQXS/DDC. Tons of options for EQ'ing and crossovers. My buddy has a SA-3055 so one of these days I'm gonna throw the mic in my truck and use the RTA to set everything up perfect. My deck has T/A settings so I wasn't really looking out for those options when I was buying.

I want but I'm not sure I can fit without some mods to the install I just got done. heh. The extra length is really going to mess with everything.

Same power? The Z1A does 5KW@1ohm. What is the name of your shop TRZ? I said it would be around the same power not more powerful. I know those amps very well your forgetting I'm a dealer for them ,and I sell them and install them.I have not actually tested the 1500 strapped. I'm simply using the test results off this forum. which I would hope to be somewhat accurate. Z1's or Z1a's? Testing against Z1's would be pointless since they don't have near the power of a Z1a.
-
You are confusing the Z1 with the Z1a.
-
You need to talk to someone else... Heh. The Z1a amps are pretty sweet, but the previous Z1's did have their issues.
-
Nice... Thats what I'm hoping to pop too.

Lovin the 10"... Great work! -
My 100.4 gets a little warm but both my 1500D's have yet to raise in temp. I was wondering how being surrounded by carpet was going to affect them but they are surpassing all my expectations. No problem! Hoss' has been making his 1500Ds and 100.2s hot enough to cook eggs on since he first got them in August of 2006... and they are still going strong If you are running at a regular impedance and they aren't hot enough to go into protection, you are good to go. He is the guy with 8x 12" BMs in a truck if that rings a bell.

Don't deal with her, get someone else. Heh.. They poke fun at her on the DD forums. I love Sundown and Jacob is top notch to deal with but I would love to own a pair of Z1a's. They had a rough patch there with the amps for a bit but its all pretty much worked itself out. Besides her though, everyone else I've dealt with at DD has been great. Sundown has the cosmetic advantage for sure though. The other DD amps that looked like the SAZ/SAX series were much better looking.

Sweet.... Been waiting for this. I might have a custom one made... Needs silver writing to match my other decals.

50-90 is too narrow of a freq range.. Would just be a waste. I think you would be happier running it over the whole midbass range which is from 100-300hz, so something like stratus and do 60-100hz and up to 300hz then let your midranges take over from 300hz up to about 3-3.5khz where the tweeter would take over there. Course all this would require going active and ditching the passive crossover from your components if you are using one.

I have 2 1500D's strapped and a 100.4 all hooked up eventually with 6 runs total of 1/0 (3pos 3neg) to a kinetik 2400 in the back and a 130amp alt and though only 1 pos run and 1 neg run are hooked up at the moment and no big 3 yet there is no dimming or drops no matter how hard I pound on it, so I'm pretty happy. Adding a battery will definetly help if you run into any issues. I have the wire sitting here to do my big 3 and I just need a couple more fuse holders to hook the rest of my runs up. When I can afford it I'll put in a HO alt.

You ain't feel like retyping? heh... Paying attention FTW!

Started in on the install.. Wish I had more ground cable, we decided to do multiple runs and I don't have enough grey/silver since we used some for more power wire.. doh. It'll all be hidden anyway. Lots more to do (probably a couple more days worth).. I'll keep the pics coming.

Some daytime pics...

I'll have to take some day pics.. These don't do the install justice... 98% done.. Still need the little trim panel (ran outta carpet) and get my DDC back and installed. Hope this is worthy of reppin' Sundown

I think black powder coated basket and chrome top and back plates would look sweet.
