Hey Everyone, I've been reading this forums for a while and only recently created an account to start posting. This has become my favorite car audio site, especially since it has a great interface for my phone at work Anyways, here's the first car I bought, a 96 v6 Camry xle, and it is time to start it's journey in car audio. It will be a long one as I like to save for a while and buy bigger after learning my lesson going cheap and regretting/wanting more. I won't post my plans for the car as they change somewhat every time i sit down and put some thought to it. I'll mainly be updating as parts show up on my doorstep, past the point of no return for me haha. Heres my baby, my commuter For the meantime I'll be working with the sub stage, reluctantly. I popped some factory speakers so i threw in some afforable jvc coax 6 1/2's and 3 way 6x9's. I have a kenwood deck that I'm like for now. I ordered my sub which will be coming in within the very near future and snagged an awesome amp this past weekend. Here's a few shots of the amp Can't seem to get that pic to stay rotated... Maybe later I'll take a pick of it sitting in the trunk in the dark with all the lights on, its really a beautiful amp, can't wait to see how much she puts out Anyways that's it for the meantime, sorry there isn't any major installs going in yet, but there will be in due time as I save up. The next bump will be the unboxing of my sub. Hint, it's rated at just about the same as the output the amp at 2 ohms

Haha I know I spent a while trying to find equations to calculate it all... Def high on the port area side too but it was a fun experiment and I have been liking it a lot. I love the three ways though, they are the nicest sounding speakers I've owned for sure. I'm pretty set on buying another zcon right now as Ryan@ram has come up with a design I can fit so only time will tell! Edit- I know it was a lot of port but it was still around 3 after ha. It worked well for the time I used it

1. Product: SSA Zcon 12 D1 2. Specs: http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/index.php/product-information/zcon.html 3. Description/Condition: Bought this baby new in July of last year and have been using it since. I have never had any problems with it and have loved it the whole way through! I was powering it with an mtx te4001d which was powered by 2 xs3400s and a 320a alt. Was played in a box i built (3 cubes tuned to 32). I am selling because i want more cone area but don't have the space for another zcon unfortunately. There is not damage to the sub and the only cosmetic issue is a smudged black line on the motor that was there since i pulled it out of the box. 4. Price: : 420 Shipped to 48. I have original packing and it will be shipped out in that box. Pictures:

Because they make use of carbon fiber material for the cone, and have shiny phase plugs? I know a secret about the "carbon fiber." The $25 secret

Not sure man. I thin the Bravox us a santoprene single roll surround. Looks like these Crescendo's have a progressive surround. Could be wrong though. The bravoxs also have the progressive surround , pretty cool No, I do not think so, maybe a progressive style spider. They do, I have them.

Yea they do except for that wild basket and motor structure the bravoxs have.

We all hope everything goes well for you in the near future man. Hopefully the light at the end is still visible. Those are some beautiful drivers you produced, I'm sure they had nothing on what was to be produced. Good luck with what ever direction you head.

Welcome. Very interested to read what you have to share from your experiences! Good luck with you shop too

MTX 1501d linkable?
Ryan916 replied to SMpaintball78's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I would assume so. My 4001d elite is linkable. What's the vc config of your solos? -
His point was that if you could control yourself while drinking, we wouldn't be having this discussion

I know I was shocked when the appraisor said anymore damages found would probably total it... As far as the alternator, it is rated at 180 at idle and full output around 1500-1800 rpm. The alt ran me 435.

Ok guys I have a bunch of pics taken over the last month so here's september's progress! Started off with electrical upgrades... My wire, Xscorpion ofc My new favorite wire cutting tool... until I have to get a new blade My upgraded grounds vs old Here's the old.. new big3.. Since this picture I have a dropped a d3400 i picked up from Steve Meade's shop and heatshrunk all the wiring instead of taped... ha I just got my new Alt, 320a from Quality powers, Going to drop it in tomorrow, pretty excited for that! I was rear ended at a stop light by a lady texting so that was a little speed bump during this month... That minor damage came quite close to totalling my car... smh Bought my front stage from SDeYoung off here, can't wait to get installing this setup in my doors! They will be powered by a MTX te404 bridged to two channels The beautiful ZCON came and arrived at my workplace, Of course I was showing off the SSA to all my coworkers This past weekend I began the box building finally! Have had a lot of fun with it considering it is my first box. I had a lot of planning around some tight requirement I wanted it to meet. First i wanted it tuned low, 30-31 hz and The overall height could only be 13" to fire into my cabin sealed off from the trunk. I have this arch that spans the cutout of my trunk pass through so it would cover part of a slot port. I bought some 4" aero's to deal with that. I used this calculator http://www.carstereo.com/help/Articles.cfm?id=31 which gave me a minimum of 50 sqin's so 4 4" ports worked perfectly. Fitting those four fours and a 12 in a box 13" high was a bit difficult and I know i broke some rules on this box, but here it is... about 3.2x ish net tuned between 31-32 hz. Can't make straight cuts without a 50lb kettlebell right? Tight fit, but made it! Wish I had a router for all these circle, burned through a nice blade on my jig Phew, it fits! Put some coves in Little bedliner front finish, cheap but I like it Here's where things get a little funky, but I had fun with it. Little different but my port were hard to tune for my space, but i pulled it off.... haha I just put the bolt terminals in the back plate last night, might finish it up tonight after classes, f night classes ha cant get much work done. Probably will finish the box up tomorrow after work. I'd love to drop the alt in too! Thanks for reading though all these guys, I've had a lot of fun with my first box so far, I'm very interested to see how it sounds!

Thanks bromo that is exactly what I was looking for

So my build calls for my 4" aeros to be about 38" long so I have to do some piping in my box with 90 and 45 degree turns. When measuring I'm assuming I stay in the middle the whole time and measure flare tip to tip? The turns are what throw me off when measuring. Thanks guys
-
I think there's a misunderstanding here. I'm just asking how you measure it, I know it is simple but I'm just not sure. I have 1 90 and 1 45 degree angle turn on each of my ports.

The foam surrounding on my dcon ripped
Ryan916 replied to Angelboy863's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
Sounds like a big tear. If i were you and had a little money laying around I would purchase a re-cone kit and diy, might be a fun learning project. I myself have not re-coned a sub either so I would love the opportunity... though I hope I dont have to anytime soon! -
Hi Ryan welcome! I know I sure have learned a lot since I joined, that is for sure.
-
Pop out the tape measure! I'd say biggest upfront and a fat g31 in back will run 4k fine.. AS long as you have a strong high amp alt.
-
Exactly what I thought when I read the thread title and author... Is say just pick something and run with it and make informed decisions from there. I personally would keep the solos because I know they will be worth more down the road but then again I don't have space for 15s
-
hasn't been mounted yet i'd assume is the culprit for no holes edit: look at his feedback. Looks like there is some sketchy business going on. Pretty bad last few months haha And he sure is selling a lot of decks and everything else he has sold could have been easily snatched from a car wow

Now that is some port area! haha Awesome numbers that's unreal!

question about shipping. tracking # inside
Ryan916 replied to swagger_wagon468's topic in SSA® Store
Mine said that too and it showed up on my door before it changed haha so you're in for a surprise -
Were the 45's in the sealed chamber just to subtract a little volume?

B-e-a-utiful wow. Bet it sounds even better than it looks!
