Would 2-15'' BTL's sound better with 2k each or about the same as 2-18 BTL's??? 2-15''s are less sub to move and i think that the 15's would play better or what?

Can 2-18'' btl's play loud with 2000 watts each? I dont wont to under power them or over power them. Can they slam with 2k each? And as for the box size, would 5 cubes each plus port be good? I heard the smaller the box more power, larger the box less power to reach full xmax. Is this true??? On Realmofexcursion.com some dude is running 7.5 cubes @ 31hz with 1800 watts and it slams!!! I dont want to waste my money or time if the BTL's wont play good with 2k each. Does anyone have a vid with 2000 watts or so to a 15'' or 18'' btl that slams? would like to see it. I'm running 200 amp alternator with 2 yellow tops. 1-MTX TE4001D for my subs and 2- MTX TA7804's for my highs. If the TE4001D wont power the BTL's, I was thinking of getting 2- hifonics BXi 2607 sub amp 2600 watts @ 1ohm. Will this work better for the subs??? And I see that that Shawn is only run 2500 watts to each BTL that is in his van. So why cant I get by with 2000-2500 watts to each sub. Thanks guys..... mike

Should the ports be on the same side as sub is on or not? I want my BTL's to fire up and the ports to fire up to. Does it matter where the port is on the box? Would it hit harder with the subs and port towards the back of my excursion? Thanks...

I will be running 2-18'' BTL's off of 2-MTX TE4001D's. I would like to know if this power setup is good for what I need to run my amps. Yollew top for the starter with a 200 amp alternator, 200 amp isolator, and 2 yellow tops in the rear for the sub amps. How would I wire the 2 yellow tops in the rear. + to + and - to - ? Ground each battery or only 1? Any help with this would be great and where and what battery,alternator,or isolator I should use? And what is the Big 3? Thanks Fi buddies...

Will 2-18'' BTL's be happy with 2000 watts per sub? And will they play with 2000 watts each or do I need to put 4000 watts per sub? Need to smoke 2-13" w7's. Can 2000 watts per sub do it???

I want to keep them around for awhile, so that is why I only want to hit each sub with 2000 watts or so. Plus that is the RMS of the BTL. I can add one more amp but how long will the sub take 4000 watts before it blows? I think with the right box and port size I should hurt something! I need to know how build a ported box. i want to have each sub in it's own box with 1 slot port down the side of the box. I need to know how to come-up with the numbers to make the box. This way if I chang the box I know how to build the next box to the size and shape I want it. The box I want to build would be 48x20x32 (WxHxD) internal(17.77 cubes).48'' wide this way I would have a factory edge on the MDF. With the subs and the port facing the rear door. I was going to put 2-18'' Q's in a ford excursion until I heard ONE 15'' BTL fully loaded in a excursion powered by a hifonics BXi2006. The box was 3.5 cubes net @ 33hz. Let me say that it was loud!!! I want to run 2-18'' BTL's fully loaded on my new TE4001D amp!!! Would 2-15'' BTL's hang with 2-18's? Or will the 18's smoke the 15's like that? I really want the 18's and if I put each one in 5 cubes @32hz what will happen to my excursion?(Each sub will see about 1800 watts each.) If I use 5 cubes or 8 cubes per sub what would it do to the sound of the box? I want my X to fall apart from all the bass and I want it to be LOUD. What would the Fi Audio Guru's do...
