Alright so I have had my system in for a couple of months now and I have finally had some time to really get to know it. Now that the hype of having a new system is over I am starting to listen to my normal music and not just rap, so thats stuff like 311, Eve 6, and Modest Mouse. And i have to say is that, it sounds amazing for being a 15. It keeps up with the fastest drum kicks and its clean and crisp. I could not be happier with the SQ of this sub. Before i had 2 10's and those were amazing for rock but this is just as good if not better, I got the benefit of being much louder and having lower notes but did not give up any accuracy! Now for the SPL side of the Q. This baby is loud!!! I was totally blown away by how loud this driver will get. I went in with the idea of just having a really good SQ setup which i did, AND i got a spl score worth cometiting with! I couldnt believe it when i hit a 145.4 on my first run ever playing Lil Jon. Now I am just curious of what I can really hit after tweaking and playing tones. The only thing that could be better to me that what I have now is 2 Q 15's Heres what Im Running 98' S-10 Ex. Cab HU:Panasonic CQ-C7403U Sub: Fi Q 15' d2 Amp: Hifonics BXI 1606d Box: 4cubes @ 30 htz (by Scott) Batt: Deka Intimidator Dbs: 145.4 in the headrest (Throw it up) Now some pics This is how it looks now This is probably my favorite pic Pretty much the standard routine the day your sub arrives haha Heres the Enclosure that Scott designed for me, I couldnt be happier This is pretty much the bulk of my stuff, I believe it is a successful setup. Thank you Scott and everyone else at Fi, I couldnt have done it without your help! You have my all of my respect and gratitude.

That will be an amazing setup, you will come to fall in love w/ Q's just like the rest of us who own Q's, Im pretty sure, pretty much everyone who has bought a Q has loved it unless they have it in a crappy setup or arnt gettint ther #'s they want. Wes

I would just go to a respected local shop to do it, I dont know how to...yet. But they usually will do it for a couple bucks if any. And they sould do a good job to, at least mine did. Wes

I Hear this kind of stuff too, you just have to shrug it off, because if Fi's are cheap and poorley designed as all the haters say they are, how do you explain all the collective SPL and SQ winners? I think i smell jealousy...haha Wes

As someone who runs a Brutus, i would say avoid them. The are not worth the hassle, i wish that i would have saved my money and gotten something better quality. You get what you pay for, with these. And its a gamble if the amp will work properly, my first one was bad, my friend had a bad one too. out of 5 bxi's weve had 2 were bad, one of his is still actin squrriley too. All in all i would save your money, unless you go with a higher Hifonics line. Wes

I sent everyone the plans, have fun Wes

I would personally go with RF or Sundown, dont make the mistake i did and go with a cheap Hifonics amp. Now i wish i would have waited and just bought a nice amp to begin with. Plus you can pick up a T1000 off ebay for pretty cheap now days. Wes

Hey I dont know much about the technical stuff but I do know i have 2 differently shaped ported boxes that are designed by Scott for my Q 15 and mine sounds amazing, and get low and got pretty loud (145) The specs are 30hz and 4cubes. So if you want i can shoot the plans your way if your intristed and if you could fit one of them. I might as well share em' w/ other Q owners and save Scott some time since we know that he is a busy man, and he works hard to make us happy Wes

HAHA Thats a good feeling of acomplishment, when youve got people all around your truck in awe of your stuff! I went to a car show 2 weeks ago to look, not to show and i ended up drawing a pretty big croud and schooling some wanksters who though they were the chit, lol they never heard anything that loud. I was a good time. Wes
-
What was that before you had it reconed?
-
I think what makes your truck so special is that its already a badass minitruck but youve also got a badass system, where i see alot of sweet minis that have like some xplodes or sumethin lol. I would do something crazy because ive already got a great canvas to start w/ but im gonna save it for someone who can do it. Its a 98, ex cab w/ 3rd door, 4.3l, 2wd, and to top it off 220,000miles haha! Im saving up for an old taco ex. cab or 4runner, then the fun beigins.

Hey heres a thread I started like a month ago thats got some good info on it about Q's I was wondering the same thing. undefined Wes BTW I hit 145 w/ one Q 15 on a bxi 1606
-
I think your build is my favorite. Its gonna be insane, your truck is too, its like my dream truck if i wasnt poor and had some mechanical skills haha. Wes

This sir is Ridiculous! I have plans to do 4 Q 15's w/ 2 T3000's and i thougt i was crazy. This is looking amazing. I cant wait to see some vids and numbers! Wes
-
This one was way before i got my Q and I still had a rear view mirror lol! WES

So do you want 4k to both or each, Even then its still virtually impossible to get that kind of power for that price. You could do 2 Hifonics BXI 2006's but i dont reccomend it at all, youll be better off saving some moeny and gettin like a RF T4000 or Memphis 4k or something like that. But you might want to double your amp fund for something decent. Wes

98' S-10 Ex. Cab HU:Panasonic CQ-C7403U Sub: Fi Q 15" d2 Amp: Hifonics BXI 1606d Box: 4cubes @ 30 htz (by Scott) Batt: Deka Intimidator Wires: Knu Krystals, Street Wirez Oaug DB's: 145.4 in the headrest playing "Throw it Up" It was my first run ever I havent tuned it at all yet but i hope to hit a few more dee-bees You usually dont hit the highest numbers possible on you very first run do you? Wes

Would you care if I made my own shirts? My Mom's got an embroidery machine and we can do this kind of stuff, plus I cant afford to buy one. Wes

May the Lord have mercy upon his suspention.

Yes it would be much cheaper to get 2 1606's but thats what i have now and i dont feel confident with it, I went in with budget in mind but now i know better and want some NICE clean power, My buddy is running 2 1606s and he has so many probs, hes blown his re's a couple times, just because of those amps dirty power. There very unpredictable, but not bad for the money! wes

So as of right now i have a Q 15 powered by a BXI 1606 running at 1 ohm so the sub is dual 2. My next goal is to get another Q 15, but I really want to get a RF T3000 but they would have to run at 2 ohm and be dual 1's right? So i would have to recone my current one or 2 (if everything goes right) to run at 2 ohms. But then agan if i end up w/ 2 dual 2 Q's i could just get 2 RF T1000's I just need some advice -send in my current Q for a swap and get both dual 1 so i could run the T3000 -keep my current Q a dual 2 and run each off T1000's How much actual power do the T1000's put out? Do these hold up to the other T line? I know a T3000 would be very generous for 2 Q's but it would be nice! Wes

Thats exactally what I was thinkin' It would be a nice overhead to have. Im just lookin into the future and that would be a nice starter piece. quality Wes
-
If you just go easy on the gains it will be fine off the bat. I gave mine about that (if not more) right when i got it and no problemo. Wes

Thats nice, I like to hear Fi winning. Since I dont watch sports much this is all that i keep up w/ Fi is like my team! YEAAAAA!

Ok Im sorry I made this so confusing, I obviously dont know what im takling about, but my friend helped explain it to me. So heres the scoop. I might have 2- Q15 dual2 (right now i have 1) I want to run both off of a T3000 at 1ohm so they get about 1500w each. I know now that i cant do this...yet But I can keep them both at dual 2's and run the amp at 2ohm load and give them each about 1000w, right? Or I would just get 2 T1000's and put one on each runing at 1ohm which do you thing is the better way to go, I want to give them a little more than 1000w a piece. Thanks for all the help so far, I really appreciate it! Wes
