this is where the help stopped. people like you are why there are laws passed that include $1000 fines and vehicle impoundment for noise violations. no one is going to help you piss off your neighborhood and continue to ruin the hobby for the rest of us. if you want to be loud in public, do it at a sanctioned event on a meter.

ohm's law says that 2000w at 12.5v is 160a, or 140a at 14.4v. but thats at 100% efficiency, amplifiers normally run around 80% or so. since your alternator also has to power your car, and your other amps and accessories, youll definately be running short on juice unless you have a decent sized battery bank. with a couple decent batteries, you could get by for a while. it just depends on how much you abuse the equipment.

there is something slightly wrong about a shirtless man playing 20hz while the speaker sits near his crotch. the OMG didnt help either

4-5 cubes at 32hz in regular cab Silverado!
scottxgtr replied to 99s10dowork's topic in General Audio
sorry for the crappy pic but its the only one i have left. thats a center console box i built back when i had an 03 reg cab. its was right around 2.75cf using just the center section. if i remember my math it would have been right at 5 if i added the portion behind the seats like you are talking about. i ran the port right under the armrest portion firing straight into the dash. i was never concerned with db numbers, but it sounded pretty good and wasnt blowing in my ear like when i had the port faced upward in a similar box. i say go for it. only downside i see is itll be a pain to get in and out of the truck. -
how about $325 for half an amp. packaged like a SAZ1500. no dice. . ok fine . . . . . (sits in corner hopefully waiting for SAZ1500 sale to begin) . . . . .

as far as power goes, they put out pretty well. they sounded like bass to me. never had a problem pushing my Q 18 with one of them. or my IDMAXs. i was impressed by these amps, but theyve been sitting idle for a while now so its time to move on. ive got one promised to a friend. the other ill let go for 200 plus shipping -

Yet another port tuning ? Help me please
scottxgtr replied to 04nissanfrontier's topic in General Audio
yes, measure your port down the center line. some people can sketch it out on paper pretty quick, im faster sketching it on a scrap piece of wood with a framing square. it helps seeing it full size -
so those with space to spare are forced to buy multiple subs. . . . thats either genious marketing or communism. i cant really tell.

are there any current plans for a v4 mag larger that 12"? otherwise, my attention is only slightly peaked. maybe the old lady will get one.

there is a 2.5 4 cyl available as well. i have one. so far, 4x4parts.com has the only one i know of. https://www.4x4parts.com/catalog/product_in...roducts_id=5278 -
holy crap. i guess i see where you are coming from.

port is just out of frame on the driver side. it was aprox 4"x20" or so. unfortunately, no other pics. got deleted when i moved computers. should you go for it? hell yeah. it wont hurt to try. might cost you a sheet of mdf at the worst.

mine was a 18" Fi Q in a ported box (6.5cf) at 30hz. i had no issue hitting lows. nor getting loud.
-
in my old 02 xterra, i used to run subs up port up and liked the sound better than other configurations. never really metered it tho, but i wasnt concerned with numbers. my ears were happy. best advice, build a test box and try it out. or specify exactly what vehicle incase someone has any personal experience.

thanks. . . . i guess. lol before i got mine, i used to do the screw and string trick, but subbed a piece of coat hanger for the string. provides a little more control than a flimsy piece of string. as far as the lowes router circle jig, tried it too. wasnt as precise as i wanted it to be, so i bought the jasper 2 pack from partsexpress and its 100x better.

if you want a bolt on kit, air ride technologies is your best bet. if you want a custom fabbed setup, you can get most of your parts from suicidedoors.com, or many other vendors. pick up a truckin or minitruckin magazine and you should be able to find a handfull of vendors. avoid anything from AIM industries!! expect to spend between 1500-2000 in parts, and about the same in labor. as far as shops, im not sure whats in your area. if you want to come down to the gulf coast i can recommend a really good guy in alabama.

i work for 84 Lumber and i could get it, but im sure you dont want to buy 35 pieces at a time just like i dont want 34 pieces sitting in my warehouse taking up space and budget. best bet is to call a local furniture or cabinet maker. often times they will buy from me, and are willing to sell you a couple sheets.

lol. thought your avatar looked familiar. i do agree with you tho, they must value their warranty or something. sadly, i havent gotten to that stage yet. so i dont have much positive input. i say go for it tho. the door panel itself looks like there might be room to fit something large. nothing a little cutting cant fix.

this does vary with what insert you are using. with no insert i was smelling voice coil at 400w rms. but with the inserts they took the 400 like champs. i wouldnt push them too far past their rating. i was running my 4 off a pair of mbquart RAA2400.
