there is no need for a dual 4 really. what ohm load are you shooting for? you can get .5, or 2 from the dual 1. or 1 and 4 from the dual 2. a dual 4 would get you either a 2 or 8 ohm load. you can get the 2 from a dual 1. and 8 ohm is normally only used in home audio. but you never know. email them and see.

also try your setup without any bass boost and the sub setting on your head unit at 0. this gives your amp the cleanest signal possible. if you let the head unit distort the signal, the amp is just gonna amplify the distorted signal and clip the hell out of it. bass boost and stuff like that makes it sound louder to the ear, but all it is really doing is introducing distortion.

just to add to the mirror massacre, me and my buddy were coming back from lunch and he took control of the ipod. he skipped most of my normal stuff and went right for the heavy bass tracks. his goal was to piss off the churchy lady that was standing outside who had been pestering him. so he played "shake that" by eminem. nothing like foul mouthed lyrics and obnoxious bass to piss off a churchy lady. i start backing into my parking spot and we are just laughing at the face she made as we passed by slowly. right when we stop laughing the mirror decides it has had enough and lets go. laughter then continues for the next 15 minutes or so.

sounds like you either have the low pass filter on the amp set wrong, or something on the head units crossover set wrong. the bass boost on your amp is only going to add distortion. avoid it like the plague. on your alpine, turn "defeat" on to negate all your settings. if that makes the bass come alive, then your haed unit settings need adjusted. if the bass stays low, check and make sure your LPF is set around 75-100ish. also check to see if you have a subsonic filter and make sure its not set too high.

my buddy got me thinking about 18" subs so i started looking. i found RE right when they were changing over to the 06 models and the US amps buyout. I had considered a new XXX 18 until i saw the price. So i chilled and thought about finding an old XXX. Then someone on SPLBassX mentioned scott formed his own compnay called Fi. checked out the lineup and figured id be one of the first to plunk down 300 bones for a 18Q. the rest is history.

I got to AA every thursday. it hasnt helped yet. i have this thing about my subs matching by brand. i need a Fi 8" for a center console midrange to compliment my Q18. Show trucks have to match like that you know.

setup is a Q18 in 6.5 cubes at 30 hz on an autotek MM1400.1 in a nissan xterra. grim, i think yours might be a jeep related problem. popping off a mirror with a single infinity 10 means it wasnt on there very good. this mirror survived 4 infinity VQ 12s, 2 alphasonik 15s, and a pair of IDMAX 12s with 1k each.

box looks similar to mine for my 18Q. youll need to rebuild it eventually. 3/4 mdf without bracing tends to flex a lot with a 18 in the box. i should be rebuilding mine this friday. 1.5" with bracing all the way around.

not sure on the warm dustcap. but that looked like a pioneer cd player correct? my old one used to distort and clip the signal at +6 so i always kept it flat at 0.
